A Sweet Stop Sketch & Birthday Wishes

Today it's my friend Janet's Birthday so a few of us decided to celebrate her day with a little birthday blog hop.  If you came here from Joan's blog you are in the right place; if you just stumbled on our hop then click here to go to the start at Karen's blog.

It's Saturday so that means it also time for the Sweet Stop Sketch (SSS55) & this weeks was fantastic (as usual!!)  I wanted to do something with music since Janet loves metal rock; I must admit I didn't have any rocker images so I went with Chelsea from the Greeting Farms Wild Sprouts collection; at least she's listening to music!!

Chelsea is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics.   The ds paper is basic grey's Indian summer.  The border punch is from SU and I added some of Taylors Tiny Twinkles along the edge.

The next stop on the birthday blog hop is Mary, Happy Birthday Janet I hope you have a fantastic day & enjoyed you hop your card really is in the mail, but no chance it will be there on time but I know you aren't shocked by that!!

Please stop by the Sweet Stop Blog to see what the other Sugar Babies have created and I hope you can play along with us this week.

Thanks for stopping by,

Dana

Cherry Bugg....

As most of you know Christy Croll, the amazing desginer behind the Huggabugg rubbah available at Stamping Bella also has digital images available through her own site Tiddly Inks. I love that these are extensions of some of the images that I have come to love at Stamping Bella; but no rubbah just digi!

This sweet image is call Cherry Bugg Cupcake - isn't she sweet?! The image is printed on bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics. I added some glamour dust glitter to the top of the cupcakes and used a red atyou spica pen on the cherry.

The paper is from on of my Taylored Expressions kit, the ds paper is Bo Bunny's Kitchen Spice. The flower rhinestones are from the kit as well, but I coloured them a darker orange to go with my image. The punch is from Martha Stewart

Don't forget to send Em your cards by tomorrow for this weeks Bellariffic Friday - Mother's Day (it's just around the corner!!)

Have a fantastic day & thanks for stopping by

WHEE....

I am so happy I was able to play along with the Sweet Stop sketch this week (SSS49) - I {heart} their sketches but haven't played along in awhile

I also finally inked up this sweet Pure Innocence Girl "Start the Day with Whee" from MFT. The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. I cut the image out with a rectangle nestie; then cut along the embossed line, I then cut the base (garden green) with the same size nestie. The ds paper is from My Minds Eyes Quite Contrary - Mary Mary line,
I used the ds paper for her dress as well.

I added some of Taylor's Tiny Twinkles in the corners of the image and some pink gingham ribbon along the bottom. The flower is a white prima flower that I sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in bubblegum and added a ruby red bella bonbon

Thanks fro stopping by - hope you started your day with Whee!!

I'm Late....

Well here it is already January 2nd & I am now just starting my desk calendar; I will soon be getting the call from my mom that she doesn't know what day it is because she doesn't have a calender! Really I have just started it; so I will show you January but I won't have the details on how I put it together until February!!

The calender from Taylored Expressions, and it's a download so you can alter it to the size that works for your project. The calender itself is 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 and the base is 5x5. For this month I used Stamping Bella's Hat & MITTS because we definitely need them here in January!! The image is stamped on bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics, I added some green stickes on the hat & mitts. I then cut the image out and layered it on a piece of garden green cs cut with a rectangle nesties. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Eskimo kisses.

I hope you are all having a wonderful start to the New Year - ours has been quiet since I've had a cold/sinus infection since Christmas; just when I think I'm fine it starts up again but I am determined to get back on track this coming week! Speaking of this coming week Bellariffic Fridays start back so make sure you check out Bloggabella Monday for this weeks challenge

Thanks for stopping by

Laundry Day

When I saw this stamp on the Greeting Farms website I knew I had to have her; this is how I felt yesterday with laundry, ironing and trying to get my Christmas decorations up!

I used Mercy's sketch from this week (MTSC50) and stamped HG Laundry with mementos ink and coloured her with copics. I paper pieced her hairpiece and used my black glaze pen to make the polka dots stand out. For the laundry I used my clear glaze pen on the laundry basket and my atyou spica pitch black pen on some of the laundry.
The paper is all from my July Key ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions. I added some clear rhinestones in the corner

Thanks for stopping by - don't forget the Bella Birthday bash blog hop is tomorrow at 10:00 am CST and I am so excited because I have a little sneaky peak of the Stamping Bella release on Dec 7 to show you on the hop!

Sweet Flopsey

I wanted to make a card to wish everyone in the USA a very Happy Thanksgiving so I inked up Sweetie Pie Flopsey because you need pie after a big turkey dinner!

I used Mercy's sketch from this week (MTSC49)but flipped it around to work with my image. Flopsey is stamped with mementos ink & coloured with lyra pencils & prisma colour pencils using odorless mineral spirits. The pie is coloured with copics and I added a clear glaze on with my glaze pen. I paper pieced the pan and chefs hat.

The paper is from my Sept Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions, the ds paper in the package is Bo Bunny's Kitchen Spice. The punch is from EK success called Parisian which I ordered from Stamping Bella and I paper pierced along the edges.
I popped up the brown/rust piece then popped Flosey as well to give lots of dimension to the card.

Enjoy time with your families, eat lots of turkey; we canucks did that last month & are now getting ready for the Grey Cup this weekend (our Super Bowl) For those of you going shopping on Black Friday - good luck!!

Happy Birthday NANCY!!

Welcome to our birthday blog hop for Nancy! I met Nancy when I was still living in Toronto and she was teaching at a scrapbooking store; I loved her classes she inspired me so much! THEN Nancy had an SU party & I was hooked; yep this whole slippery slope started with her party!

Now Nancy creates amazing blog banners for charity and is the designer for Taylored Expressions Whimsical Wishes line, plus she has the most amazing blog creations on her blog Card Worthy!

For her birthday card I chose one of her Whimsical Wishes lines "For the Love of Cupcakes" and the sentiment is from Whimsical Wishes "Fresh Flowers". I used Karen G. Sweet Sunday sketch (SSSC44) for my layout. The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. I paper pieced the base of the cupcake with DS paper and the top is prima paper that I added some Mermaid Glitz Stickles. The paper is from my Sept Key Ingredients Kit from Taylored Expressions. On the chipboard flowers I used Walnut Glimmer Mist
and buttons.

Now make sure you stop by and wish Nancy a very Happy Birthday and hop along and see all the amazing birthday wishes!
Thanks for stopping by & Happy Birthday Nancy!!

Sweet Sunday Trick or Treat

Wohoo I managed to get one more Halloween card made! I wanted to ink up all my new Halloween stamps (I did) and use my Halloween Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions again!

I used Karen's G. Sweet Sunday sketch (SSSC41) from this week & flipped it on it's side to work with Trick or Treat with Who's That Girl (don't you just love the Flopsey costume?!) The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. I used my black glaze pen for her shoes and orange stickles for the candy. The DS paper in the kit is Basic Grey's Eerie. I paper pieced her dress and paper pierced around the ds paper.

Really who dresses like that when handing out Halloween candy?! Here we are sometimes bundled to answer the door, but this year it's suppose to be warm(ish) so chances are I will be in jeans & a t-shirt & hoodie (OK maybe my Lulu's) BUT the kids will get way more then one piece of candy here! Being non-parents hubby & I love giving handfuls of candy out; we love getting kids hoped up on candy :)

Happy Halloween & thanks for stopping by

Words of Wisdom..

When I saw The Places You'll Go from Taylored Expressions I loved the images and the sentiments; something I don't own enough of!

For this weeks TESC87 I chose to ink up one of the sentiments and to make a "quick card" so I grabbed my September Key Ingredients kit; which are fantastic and if you haven't tried them yet check out Octobers collection here.

The image is stamped with memento's ink onto Taylor's buttercream cs (which came in the kit) and I coloured the heart with copics (R00, R02, YR02), I then added some stardust stickles to give it some dimension and shine. The cs from the kit is prism and the ds paper is from Bo Bunny's Kitchen Sink collection which I paper pierced (shocking I know). I added extra layers and used my Martha Stewart flower punch & added some Taylors tiny twinkles to the center of the flowers

Thanks for stopping by & have yourself a great day - I'm off to pop this into the mail for my cousin who just called me with exciting news that she found a job as an Medic, which is something she has always wanted to do - so she is listening to her heart!

I added some lace stickles to the slippers & used red Smooch (who doesn't love smooch?!) for the coffee cup. The DS from the kit is from Pebbles & the line is called Linnie Bell.

Rain Rain Go AWAY!!!!!

So when I sat down Monday afternoon to make a card it was pouring and thundering and cold (seriously it does not feel like mid-July here!) I came across Rainy Days Elzybells & decided she would be perfect considering we are suppose to get even more rain Monday night & all day Tuesday

I used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch as my starting point. Rainy days Elzybells is stamped with mementos ink and coloured mainly with Lyra Pencils and mineral spirits, I did use copics for the flesh tones. (E000, E00, E02, R02)

The DS and blue paper is all from a Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients, as is the rhinestone flower. I also used SU's Pumpkin pie paper and ribbon. I used Taylors Tiny Twinkles for the buttons on her coat. I added a tiny twinkle to the center of the rhinestone flower and it doesn't show in the picture but I added some crystal effects to the puddles.

Thanks for stopping by, I am hoping by tomorrow we will start to dry out a little bit!!

Have a great day

Flopsey for Kate

My friend Kate isn't into the "cutesy" stamps but she is starting to like Flopsey from MFT so when I picked up Flopsey's Flowers from Scrapbookers Paradise North the other week I told her I would change her mind - he's just so darn cute!

I used my June Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions for the paper. Flopsey is stamped on Gina K's pure luxury paper with memento ink and coloured with copics. I paper pieced Flopsey's flowers and added some siren smooch (and smudged it) to the centre of the flowers, I then added some pink Taylor's tiny twinkles.
For the flowers, the two dark pink flowers are from the key ingredients kit, but the light pink on is a white one which I coloured with copics. I then used Glimmer Mist (pearl) on the flowers - yes Kate I used Glimmer mist you will convert me yet!!

Hope you are having a great weekend, mine has been fun for my anniversary I went to a movie & dinner with a friend - we saw The Hangover; it's so funny!! Today I am golfing with friends & the sun is suppose to shine all day FINALLY!!

Thanks for stopping by

happy sad card...

Today I am meeting a friend for coffee who is moving to Vancouver this weekend, so this will be our last coffee together in awhile! I am so excited for her because she chose to go back to school after looking after her kids and getting the degree she wanted & now is choosing to move to Vancouver where she has wanted to be for a long time, but I am sad because it's been nice spending time with her since being back in Calgary; so it's a happy sad card.

I chose this saying from Unity Stamps, because it so fits her; she is someone I truly admire for knowing what she wants and then making a plan and getting there; no matter how long it takes - I tend to get derailed if things take too long.

The paper and flowers are all from my June Key Ingredients kit and on the sentiment I added some green apple smooch and stickles

Thanks for stopping by, don't forget it's Em's birthday tomorrow so we are having a blog hop for her day & she is releasing new stuff what a perfect day!!

2 for One

I wanted to make this Father's Day card using Taylor's sketch from last week (TECC71) and take part in Janet's Corrosive challenge 15 this week; a Father's Day card but I wasn't sure I would have a chance to stamp today because I had to go to the passport office (yep I am stuck here for a couple of weeks!) Last time I had to renew the line ups were crazy long but I somehow managed only 30min BUT you can't be that lucky twice right?! Well it took only 10 min. start to finish!! There was NO ONE in line how sweet!! Gave me the time I needed to make my card :)

The Stamp is from Taylored Expressions Whimsical Wishes Boys will be Boys line - love this because there is a stamp for any guy in your life. My father-in-law reads a couple of newspapers a day so this was perfect; and although he doesn't drink coffee (crazy I know!) he does like tea or hot chocolate. The card came together quickly because I used my March Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions, I have been receiving them for 3 months and LOVE them & will re-new my subscription when it runs out!

After the passport office I had lunch with a friend on a patio because it's nice here today & now I am just getting ready to go & golf with some friends - what a great day!!

Have a great rest of your day -

Two Challenges & a Kit!!

I am so excited - I managed to do 2 challenges and broke open my Taylored Expression Key ingredients kit for April (March's is still waiting for some lovin'!!)

My friend Janet's challenge this week over at the Corrosive Challenge blog was to make a Mother's Day card; Janet lost her mother to cancer so big hugs to her for making this one of her challenges as Mothers Day is tough for her. I have to thank her because now my mom MIGHT get her card on time; you know it still have to get into the mailbox! Her gift is always late because I deliver it in person; which she prefers :)

I played along with the MOJO Monday 84 challenge for my card. The image is from Taylored Expressions Fresh Flowers set which is designed by the amazingly talented Nancy McKinney. The image is stamped with memento's tuxedo black ink on Taylored Expressions vanilla cs and coloured with copics.

I popped up 1 of the flowers and paper pieced the center on the big flower. I added some tiny hearts from Taylor's Multi-colored Twinkle Shapes. The image and the sentiment are both cut with nesties

I really like the kits (the March one looks really pretty...) they are definitely worth purchasing!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great night - mine so far is perfect; the Flames are losing the hockey game so I am a happy girl :) - sorry Wendy!!
