Getting Inky....

Happy Friday - today's Bellariffic Fridays challenge was a sketch

I took some liberties with the sketch - I made my card a standard 41/4 x 51/2 instead of a square card because Lesliebella was just here for a visit (so was Motzabella) and when Lesliebella was here we pulled out all my inks, texture pastes, stencils, and sprays and played  - here's a  picture of my hands Lesliebella was a little nervous at first....

The sentiment I used for my card is from Stamping Bella's Uptown Girls Beatrice and Barbara are Besties.

The sentiment is stamped with gathered twigs distress ink then embossed.  I then used the distress inks to shade around the sentiment.  For my card I made the background using glass bead texture paste with a stencil on kraft paper.  When it first dried we didn't Love it - really we didn't even Like it.  Then I added the distress inks (worn lipstick and gathered twigs) and then sprayed the base with Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst spray in Creme Brûlée and WOW what a difference!

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes creations.  Next weeks Bellariffic Friday challenge an Inspiration challenge - just take a peek at the photo and use any current Stamping Bella image and send your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella

Greetings of the Seasons

Today I'm going to show you the card I made for our holidays cards - I send out cards to lots of hubby's contacts so they can't be too cute and sweet, which is what I make most of the year!

My wonderful friend Gloria showed me the Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Poinsettia  die, then she showed me the paper & several dollars later I left the store with my master plan.

The poinsettia is cut with 2 different dp's (sorry I didn't write down the dp - it was 12x12 for a change so I don't have a package).  I then inked the petals with distress inks in peeled paint and a mixture of festive berries and barn door.  On the centres of the flowers I added some crystal stickler.

The Olive cs is embossed with cuttlebugs modern wallpaper embossing folder, which I inked with tea dye distress ink.

The sentiment Greetings of the Season is from Stamping Bella and was perfect for the card.  I stamped the sentiment on black cs with versamark ink then used copper embossing powder.  Clean and simple and not too thick to mail!!

Don't forget to play along with this weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge this awesome sketch.

Email your card to Em by Thursday evening to be included on Friday and you could win some bella bucks!!

Getting Inky

So my new rubbah arrived and with the new release I had some "older" rubbah that I hadn't ordered.  With all the new rubbah in the house I was like a kid in a candy store trying to pick one to play with today!

I went with Em's Lantern flowers (from the previous release) The base for the image is Ranger Manila tag coloured with spiced marmalade, crushed concord and tumbled glass distress ink.  I then sprinkled water on the tag, dried it then sprayed with pearl glimmer mist (yes I've been ready Tim's A Compendium of Curiosities vol II.)  Once dried I stamped the image with verafine ink then added clear embossing powder.  I cut the tag down to work with my card base which is purple cs embossed with swiss dots layered with yellow ribbon.

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge is a sketch - you still have time to play along with us this week.  Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella & you could win some bella bucks

Sunflower

Happy Friday todays Bellariffic Fridays challenge was another sketch by the very talented Ebruabella.  As you know she has had to step down from the team BUT she will be contributing the sketches for the rest of the year!

For my card I wanted to play some more with my new Tim Holtz distress markers so I decided to try colouring a sweet Bittyblooms - Sunflower Bittyblooms.

The image is stamped with versfine ink onto watercolour paper.  The image is coloured with scattered straw, wild honey, mustard seed, tattered rose, spun sugar, dusty concord.  The shading on the ground is done with pumice stone and vintage photo distress ink.  The blue shading is done with broken china distress ink.  The ds paper is MME's a Beautiful Life.  I added some kraft ribbon and the flower is die namics flower trio with a rhinestone.

Nest weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge is a colour challenge - YELLOW, BLUE AND BLACK. Any shade of these colours will work.  Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella for a chance to win some bella bucks

Have a great weekend
