Blow a Kiss

Last week while at my LSS I was introduced to Mixed Media inks - I was intrigued and with some explanation from Kate I decided to give them a try; so I bought all the shades they had in stock!

I started with a piece of watercolour paper and on about 1/3 of the cardstock I applied some gesso.  Once this dried I then applied several colours of the inks - chiffon, patina and school house.  The gesso gives a different sheen on the paper when dried with the ink.  The inks stay wet for a bit so I could spread the colour around with my finger.  Once the inks dried I then stamped my image from Stamping Bella- Blow a Kiss with black soot distress ink. I coloured in the two hearts with a brick red distress marker.  I wanted the image and back ground to be the focus of my card so I didn't add too much, just a few layers of cardstock matching the shades of ink I used.

Remember this weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is "Anything Goes" - ink any stamping bella image and email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella and you have a chance to win some bella bucks

Super Thanks

Today I have a quick card to share with you.  Hubby was invited last weekend to the Super Bowl, so I made him some Thank You Cards.

I kept the card very simple for him.  I bought the paper some time ago because I knew it would come in handy for all the sporting events he gets invited to; it's Fancy Pants Little Sport.  The blue is blue bayou, the green is kiwi kiss that has been distressed with vintage paper distress ink.  The football is from MFT's Have a Ball die-namics.  The sentiment panel is cut using MFT's fishtail flags layers.  The sentiment is stamped with mixed media inx in leather, which I then embossed with clear embossing powder.

Grow a Little....

I recently ordered some of Tiddly Inks sweet Wryn digi stamps and had to colour one up.

Wryn Grow a little Love is printed onto bella's bestest white card stock then set with a heat tool then coloured with copics.  For the shading of her hair I was inspired by a fabulous tutorial video from Alyce of Kit and Clowder.  On the heart flowers I added some glitter using a red atyou spica pen.  The shading around the image is done with antique linen distress ink.

The layout is Jen's Sketch DS87.  The design paper is MME's My Girl.  For the panels I used MFT's fishtail flags die-namcis.

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white cardstock and coloured with copics.  I don't have all the colours because I had 3 different images on the go this week (not my usual way of doing things) so I was mixing the colour piles up.  For the glitter on her dress I left the paper white then added crystal stickles (using a toothpick)  The shading around the image is done with antique linen distress ink.  The dp is We R memory makers Crazy for You.  The sentiment is cut out with a fishtail stax die-namic.  I added some buttons and twine to the corner.

Flower Garden

Today's Bellariffic Fridays challenge was a fabulous sketch.  I loved how it was a very clean sketch and I stuck to the sketch

For my card I inked up one of my favourite flower image from Stamping Bella - Flower Garden.  The image is stamped with versafine black ink then embossed with black embossing powder on water colour paper.  I then coloured the flowers with a combination of distress markers and tombow markers. In the centre of the flowers I added some glitter.  I shaded around the image with old paper distress ink.  After embossing the base layer I then distressed the paper with spun sugar.  I added some stitching to finish off the card.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes creations and what the sistah's did with the sketch.  Next weeks challenge is You Are So Sweet.  Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella for a chance to win some Bella Bucks
