Time to Celebrate

I'm excited to play along with the wonderfully talented Joanne B's 4th blogaversary challenge - I can't believe she's been blogging for 4 years!  I started following her not long after she started blogging but was too intimidated to leave comments then I met her  she totally busted me for never commenting, so now I comment!  She is so freakin FANTASTIC!!  I can't wait to see her the next time I'm at my BFF's

I inked up MFT's al a modes Time to Celebrate and stamped the image onto bella's bestest cream cs and coloured the image with copics.  I paper pieced the cake & popped it up, then added some clear glaze for the icing.  The sketch is Jen's SKFYTT for March and the ds paper is  MME's Stella & Rose - Mabel.  I added a cream prima flower which I sprayed with Tattered Angels glimmer mist in Aquamarine (for the girls at Scrapbooker's  Paradise north who convinced me I had to have it today, along with several other items!)

I actually managed to incorporate 4 of the elements on my card (limit is 3)  here are the ones I used - Kraft cs; Mixed stitching (I used straight and zig zag), twine, and ledger paper (really it's there under the strips)  Joanne's contest is open until March 19 at noon (EST) I hope you can play along & help her celebrate!!

Thanks for stopping by

If Life Gives You Lemons....

Make Lemonade! For my bellariffic Friday card I inked up Elizabeth LuLu and her Lemonade stand - what a fancy dancy stand!! I used Jen's SKFYTT from this week and the DS paper is Basic Grey's Lemonade (I couldn't resist!!)

The challenge this week was stitching, faux or with a machine so I stitched around my 2 layered pieces with my sewing machine. Elizabeth is stamped with mementos ink onto Bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics. It doesn't show too well in the picture but I used my lemon atyou spica pen along the cut lemon edges, my turquoise atyou spica along the letters and the flowers at the bottom, melon atyou along the green trim and finally clear in the center of the flowers. For the lemonade I used my clear glaze pen where the liquid is and added some lemonade baubles.

Make sure you pop over to Bloggabella later today to see all the amazing cards - we will be taking the next few weeks off because of the holidays but we will be back January 15th with a new Bellariffic Friday challenge!!

Have a great day

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DAD!!!

Today is the big barbecue and the weather is even co-operating out here; actually it's getting summer hot YEAH!! I think it's suppose to get into the low 90's!!

For my Dad's birthday card I used one of Jen's SKFYTT from awhile ago, but it was perfect with the paper and image I chose. I had a hard time deciding on the image & all my bindah's were spread around my stamp room when my hubby came in pointed to the mommy & baby cupcakes and said use those; so I did!

The image is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics. For the icing I used liquid applique and added some glamour dust glitter and let it dry. The ds paper is from Bo Bunny, and clearly lets ya know what the card is for!

I hope you are all having a great day - don't forget to get your cards to Em for this weeks Bellariffic Friday by midnight EST Thursday, this weeks sketch is by our new babe all the way from South Africa Meahni!

I'm a Little Bit Country...

Really I'm a lot Rock n Roll BUT it's Stampede Time in Calgary so everyone becomes a little bit country! In honour of the Calgary Stampede & our going to the Chuck wagon races last night I finally made a card with Howdy from MFT WTG that I borrowed Wendy forever ago (girlfriend when are we getting together for some vino?!)

For my card I used Jen's SKFYTT from yesterday and I used my Taylored Expressions key ingredients kit from May for the base, patterned paper and vanilla cs; the image is mounted on baja breeze and I used a piece of baja breeze on the card.

WTG is coloured with copics and I added some red hemp for the rope and popped up her arm. I was out at a bar Thursday night pre stampeding and noticed people have some pretty flashy boots (I've lived here 3 times and still don't have cowboy boots!) so I added some stickles to her boots. I added some ghost stars and hero art rhinestones

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day -

Bittybloom SKFYTT

For some reason I haven't managed to do Jen's SKFYTT so this week I did if right away!

I chose a bittybloom
for my card; this is a stunning line from Stamping Bella, and for some reason I didn't own many of them - until the brown truck dropped some off last week!!

I chose peony Bittybloom for my card, stamped with memento ink & coloured with copics to match the DS paper from Crate Paper (Lilian collection- harmony). The card base is pink pirouette layered with soft sky (finally cracked my last package!) I added some stickles in the center of the flower & instead of a sentiment I used 3 cotton candy bella bonbons

Jen is also hosting an ATC swap & asked me to be the Canadian contact - click here for all the details.

There is also a hop for Em's birthday that fellow babe Shannan is co-ordinating, click here to get all the details on how to take part in da'bellas birthday blog hop

Don't forget Em will be posting this weeks challenge today, make sure to pop over to Bloggabella for the details & remember for participating you could win bella bucks!!

Have a great day

I Wish I was A Ketto....

Well it's the end of our long weekend & today I will be wishing I had wings like madeline Ketto because I drove to my parents in Nelson B.C on Wednesday before the holiday traffic BUT I have to come home today - IN the holiday traffic I NEED WINGS!!! Hubby stayed behind because of work so he is golfing while I am driving; normally 7-8 hrs but who knows how long it will take today...

ANYWAYS for this card I used Jen's SKFYTT from last weekend. Madeline Ketto is coloured with copics except her dress & shoes which I paper pieced to make sure I got the right colour of red. I added some stickles to her wings because you have to shimmer when you fly.

The DS paper is from American Crafts, some of the stash I brought back from my trip to the Stamping Bella store. Instead of a circle I used 2 primas and added a bella bonbon

Thanks for stopping by - hopefully I had an uneventful trip home

Buzzy SKFYTT

I finally had a chance to play with Jen's SKFYTT from last Saturday - this week has just flown by; maybe it's the nice weather that kept me busy?!

Buzzy Huggabugg needed some lovin' so and he fit perfectly with the sketch. Buzzy is stamped with mementos tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics. I added some stickles to his wings; when I have a large space I glob some on then use a toothpick to make it look even - quick too aside from the drying time! I also added stickles to his antenna.

The DS paper is from My Minds Eye Bloom & Grow - this one from the Grow line. The cb is certainly celery and the DS and image are mounted on So Saffron

Don't forget you have until April 16 to send Em your Bellariffic card - this is the amazing inspiration piece; you have to use at least 1 flower and it has to be a Stamping Bella image

Have a great weekend - it's suppose to be nice here, and the Masters is on TV and the NHL Playoffs start next week (gotta get my pool done!!) so it MUST be spring!!

A Christmas card on a Spring Winter Day...

Well the good news is we didn't get as much snow as last weekend - the bad news is we got a lot of snow!!! Seriously we have more snow now then we did at Christmas!! So it was fitting the my friend Janet's Corrosive Challenge #5 today was a Christmas/ winter card with an animal.

For this card I used Jen's SKFYTT - I look forward to them every week!!

The image is from Elzybells called Sleeping Reindeer; when I first saw this challenge from Janet I figured easy I have TONS of animal winter stamps - um NO I have tons of Snowmen & I don't think they count as animals!! This really was about the only one with a legit animal in it; I was thinking I would be using a snowman with a wee little bird until I came across this!!

I coloured the image with Lyras & Prismacolor using mineral spirits, still trying to get the hang of it; but I do find I really enjoy colouring with them.

I added candy cane Stickles for the balls on the tree & silver stickles for the garland. On his noise and the star I used Crystal effects to give it some shine.

The CB is white cs from Papertrey and the DS paper is from Scenic Route called Garland. I layered it and the image on SU's Riding Hood Red. To finish off the image I added a Ghost Snowflake with a 5mm red Bella Bonbon

Thanks Janet for another great challenge & Jen for the sketch!!
