Pot O Orchids

Happy Wednesday everyone; I can't believe where this week has gone!  The weather here is finally nice here but my allergies are so bad I'm inside to recover from golfing on the weekend! We are hoping to get a couple rounds in again weekend so I am planning on being stuffy & no voice for the next week!!

Today I finally inked up one of my neglected Stamping Bella stamps - Pot O' orchids for LULU.  I played along with Mercy's sketch from this week (MTSC93).  The image is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper & coloured with copics.  On the ribbon I used a pitch black atyou spica pen on the polka dots, on the pot a clear glaze pen to give it some shine.  In the centre of the orchids I used some glamour dust glitter.  The ds paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle.

Halloween Spirit

Funny I'm the girl who hated dressing up for Halloween (but LOVED the candy) but now I LOVE Halloween (sadly I still love the candy too).  For years I would do the fancy pumpkin carvings for our front step and loved seeing all the kids dressed up.  This year instead of decorating a pumpkin I am making Halloween cards; not sure who for but I'm going to have a few to send out!!

For my Sweet Stop card (SSS75) I used one of the new Halloween digi stamps from TGF - Hallo Pumpkin.  The image is printed onto white cs and coloured with copics.  I printed the image twice because I wanted to paper piece his pumpkin suit and hat.  The ds paper is from echo park - happy halloween and the ribbon is from my stash.

This is my last week as a Sugar Baby - I can't believe how quickly the 6 months went by (of course my lack of summer weather still makes me think summer is coming!!)  I have really enjoyed working with the Sweet Stop team & look forward to playing along with their sketches in the future.

Birthday Boy

Funny we actually have a birthday boy in our family today - my nephew (who is in law school!!) I really must get a card in the mail for him!!

This weeks bellariffic Fridays theme was paper piercing or sewing, I went with paper piercing. I used Mercy's sketch from this week (MTSC92) for my card & inked up one of my long neglected tiddly ink designs - the Birthday Boy from Stamping Bella.  The image is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics.  I used a clear glaze pen on some of the ribbon and his party hat.  I also paper pieced the party hat and the present he is holding.  The ds paper is from Imaginisce called b-day bash (how fitting!!) Instead of a scallop I added a chain border which I punched with EK successes chain link punch.

Did you see that Em had a surprise release this week?!  Yep no more big releases just when she has the new rubbah in she will release it so you'll have to keep an eye on her blog!  Next week Bellariffic Fridays theme is very scary - HALLOWEEN!!!  Email Em your cards by Thursday to be included and you may win bella bucks; which will come in handy when there are surprise releases!!

Peeps Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday!  We still have fall weather here, the rumour is it's suppose to warm up for the weekend; I'll believe it when I see it!   I have a few more images coloured from when I was at my parent's and Little Peeps Flower Vase was the perfect shape for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC86) from this week.

The image was stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper & coloured with copics.  I paper pieced the flowers and added some clear rhinestones that I coloured with copics.  For the water in the vase I coloured the image with B0000 then added some clear glaze & glamour dust glitter. The ds paper is echo parks life is good patterned paper.

Take me Away

After waking up yesterday to a skiff of snow I want to go away!!  Yes it mid  Sept and we had our first wee snowfall, I was so sad when I woke and saw all the roofs with snow; thankfully it's melted but I think it's going to be a long winter!!

So for my Sweet Stop Sketch card (SSS74) which is a sketch with a spin - a colour challenge Mustard yellow & deep red I inked up  Jolinne Miss you Much from MFT.  The image was   stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. I used a gelly roll pen for the locks on the suitcase.  The image is mounted on ivory cs which I embossed with cuttlebugs swiss dots embossing folder.  The DS is cosmo crickets early bird.  I must admit when I saw the spin colours I was very unsure but I love how it turned out!  I added some buttons in the corner from my stash

It can only get better?! Not sure there's SNOW in our forecast!!

Happy Friday!  Today's Bellariffic Fridays was an awesome sketch for our super talented Lindabella!!

I went with Mo Manning's sweet design Jill is Two.  I love this image and her sweet face, I was at my mom's this week when I coloured her up and she loved it - I think she remembers me making this same pose many times!!!  The image is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics.  I used a purple atyou spica pen on her barrettes and a yellow atyou spica pen on the crowns  on her dress.  For her shoes I used a black glaze pen.

I usually pick my paper first, then my image then colour so this was a very different card for me to make.  I found it liberating to colour with whatever colours I wanted, but I must admit it was daunting to try and find paper when I came home - so I just used cs.  For all you girls out there who colour then put their cards together - do you store you ds paper by colours? Or do you just know what patterned paper you own?  I have a few more images coloured from my trip so I hope they go together easier!

Pocket full of Posy

I love the sassiness of these characters from Kraftin Kimmie's & finally inked up Posy which I bought from Sheila at Scrappin Great Deals.

I found a sketch challenge from Kimmie's blog (challenge 44)  & inked Posy up with mementos ink and coloured her with copics.  I paper pieced the roses and added some merlot glitter to the centre.  Her pockets are also paper peiced and i aded some tiny rhinestones for her buttons.  The ds paper is from basic greys lemonade collection; I thought the cherries went along perfectly with the cherries on her dress!!

Santa's clothes a dryin'

Happy Monday - I am so excited because I actually made some more Christmas cards!!  I made four cards with Santa's Clothes a Dryin' from Stamping Bella

The image is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper & coloured with copics.  On his mittens I added some black flocking (since they are mittens - all wooly & itchy) and for the fur trim on his pants & hat I used white liquid applique and glamour dust glitter.  I  love the raised effect this gives.  For the buttons on his pants I used tiny black rhinestones.
The cs is SU's riding hood red which I embossed with cuttlebugs snowflakes and I added some black grosgrain ribbon.
