2 for One

I wanted to make this Father's Day card using Taylor's sketch from last week (TECC71) and take part in Janet's Corrosive challenge 15 this week; a Father's Day card but I wasn't sure I would have a chance to stamp today because I had to go to the passport office (yep I am stuck here for a couple of weeks!) Last time I had to renew the line ups were crazy long but I somehow managed only 30min BUT you can't be that lucky twice right?! Well it took only 10 min. start to finish!! There was NO ONE in line how sweet!! Gave me the time I needed to make my card :)

The Stamp is from Taylored Expressions Whimsical Wishes Boys will be Boys line - love this because there is a stamp for any guy in your life. My father-in-law reads a couple of newspapers a day so this was perfect; and although he doesn't drink coffee (crazy I know!) he does like tea or hot chocolate. The card came together quickly because I used my March Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions, I have been receiving them for 3 months and LOVE them & will re-new my subscription when it runs out!

After the passport office I had lunch with a friend on a patio because it's nice here today & now I am just getting ready to go & golf with some friends - what a great day!!

Have a great rest of your day -

White Christmas

When I saw the colour challenge over on SCS (CC222) was white, just white I decided to try it - I love layering my papers so this was definitely going to be a challenge for me!

I inked up Stampin' Bella's Christmatini and stamped it on 120lb white cs and then used my label 1 nesties to emboss the paper. I coloured the image with copics and added a little crystal effects for the last of the drink in the glass (looks like a crantini?!) I added some stickles on the Christmas ball and the tree & star

The sentiment is from Stamping Bella, and to keep the card clean I just paper pierced the bottom by the sentiment

Seemed strange not to use a lot of paper or embellishments; you would think it went faster then a normal card but I had to think so much about it that I don't think it did!

Have a great Wednesday & don't forget you have until 5pm EST to email Em your card for Bellariffic Fridays- it's a sketch this week by Jen, click here for all the details

Baby, Baby,Baby

My girlfriend had a baby May 21 & I had offered to make up some birth announcements for her - thankfully I took the stuff to make them to my mom's the weekend before he was born & my mom cracked the whip so they were pretty much done (WHEW) I saved the post until after she received them in the mail.

The image is a snag 'em stamp from Imaginisce that I picked up at Scrapbookers Paradise north (thanks Kate!!) The cardbase is certainly celery layered with So Saffron embossed with swiss dots (as you can tell we didn't know if she was having a boy or girl!) The sentiment is from SU's short & sweet set - love that set!

The images are cut with nesties & layered then I added some ds paper from SU and So Saffron ribbon with 3 green rhinestones.

I decorated the inside with a stamp from Imaginisce which was perfect & decorated the corners with more SU ds paper (from sale-a-bration this year)

I haven't visited them yet, she lives about 1.5 hrs away & as soon as she feels up to it I am off on a road trip to see her & meet Matthew- I am really excited!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

Sailing Thanks...

My hubby was taken on an amazing trip over the Canadian May long weekend; he went to Boston for the Volvo Cup and while docked they were taken on the boats then they followed them out of the harbour when the race re-started - how cool is that?! He asked for some Thank You cards to send and I have struggled making them because I don't have a sailboat or any type of boat stamp, I finally sent an email to amazingly talented friend Nancy and asked if she had anything - she (being the amazingly talented person she is) immediately had an email of a ship for me to print & colour - how freakin' great is that?! I printed it off & my hubby was blown away that she could get something together for me.

I printed the image on Gina K Pure luxury 120lb cardstock and let it sit for awhile then coloured it with my copics, I didn't heat set the image & the ink seemed fine from our laser printer. I struggled a bit because all my designer paper is too feminine and I wanted to use the team colours so I finally decided to have a white cb, layered with Tangerine Tango, then Pacific Point which I embossed with Swiss dots. The image is cut with nesties and layered on Tangerine Tango.

The Sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Whimsical Wishes stamp set called Branching Out, which Nancy designs. If you haven't had a chance stop by Taylored Expressions and see her amazing sets - for 3 months a set Nancy designed is raising money for Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto which is such an amazing cause!

Thanks so much Nancy you are so talented & I am so happy to call you a friend - we will definitely get together the next time I out east for a visit!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great Sunday

S-T-E-L-L-A riffic

Happy Friday!!! Yep it's already time for another Bellariffic Friday & this weeks was a sketch designed by my BFF and fellow bella babe Karen!

For her sketch I had to use S-T-E-L-L-A so that when we chat later today I can yell it in her ear (really she loves it I'm sure!) Stella with an olive on top is stamped with memento's ink and coloured with copics, her dress is paper pieced with the reverse side of the DS paper I used on the card from Posh Posies (groovy).

I added some stickles to her crown and wand & there is a teeny bit of her drink left in the glass which I coloured then layered with crystal effects. Because I am not a sentiment girl I added some 5mm crystal bonbons along the strip and in the centre of my prima flowers.

Make sure you check out the rest of the bellariffic cards at Bloggabella & remember Em will have another challenge on Monday for next week

Thanks for stopping by have a great day- can you believe they say we might get snow Saturday night yep from sunny & hot to cold & needing the heat; gotta LOVE Calgary!!

Minty Mojo

When I saw this weeks Mojo Sketch (89) I knew it would be perfect for my weekly Christmas card!

I used Minty Coffee (yum coffee....) from Stamping Bella for my card. The image is stamped with memento ink and coloured with copics. I added some stickles on the candy cane and a ghost snowflake with a ruby red bonbon on the circles.

The DS paper is from Prima Marketing Inc's Christmas Fancy collection called Holly. The cb is SU's Baja Breeze layered with Ruby Red. I ran a strip of Baja Breeze through my big shot with cuttlebugs snowflake embossing folder

Don't forget Thursday at 5pm EST is when you have to have your cards emailed to Emily for Bellariffic Fridays, this week is another sketch click here to check it out

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

Tee-riffic Thanks

A few weeks ago (OK several many weeks ago) my hubby asked me to make him some Thank you cards in regards to golf; now considering he bank rolls the house you would think I would make these a little quicker...

For my cards I used Taylored Expressions TECC70 challenge from this week & all the paper is from the March Key
Ingredients kit (LOVE THESE!!) The stamp is from her Whimsical Wishes line called Boys will be Boys.

The images are stamped with memento tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics, I stamped the flag on red cs and paper pieced it using dimesionals. The Thank You is from another Whimsical Wishes set called Fresh Flowers

Now I just need to make another set of Thank you's for him - wonder how long those will take!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great Tuesday I'm off for my last golf lesson so these cards are fitting!

Teeriffic June

When I made the calenders (I made a bunch for gifts - always seems like a good idea until you start making 12 of them!) I was optimistic that June would provide perfect weather for golfing; fingers crossed that my instinct was right!
Teeoffabella is stamped on Papertrey white cs and coloured with copics, For the golf club I used a gelly roll pen to give the shaft (really that the technical term...) some shine.

Because of the argyle print on her socks I used Sizzix embossing plate that has the argyle look to it
If you are an avid golfer like me hope you have a tee-riffic season :)
