Clean and Simple

I hope everyone who celebrates had a wonderful Christmas!  Ours was quiet during the day, just me & hubby but we went to a friends for dinner where there were 2 very excited 3 years olds!  They were cute and made Christmas fun, but it was nice to come home to a quiet house.

Today I'm playing along with the Stamping Bella challenge hosted by Elaineabella on SCS - Clean and Simple. The contest is open until Jan 7 and you could win a $25.00 gift voucher to Stamping Bella.  I must admit keeping the card simple and having a lot of white space was a challenge for me!

I inked up Stamping Bella's Little Birdie Jane with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white cs and coloured the image with copics. I then cut the image out with with MFT's fishtail stax die-namics.  I paper pieced her dress with some dp from Hopscotch by Fancy Pants.  The pink cs is old SU paper melon mambo.  For some texture I used cuttlebugs modern wallpaper embossing folder and some stitching. The sentiment is on a tag made with MFT's fishtail stax die-namics. I stamped it with picked raspberry distress ink then used clear embossing powder.  I added three white brads and there you have my take on clean and simple!

Bellariffic Fridays are back Jan 11 and here is a peek at the sketch we will be playing with, so you have lots of time to play along!  Email your cards to Em by Jan 10 to be included on Bloggabella and you could win some Bella Bucks!

Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day

The Three Amigas

When I saw this image in the October release I knew I had to have it for a Christmas card for my wonderful friends Leslie & Karen

Uptown Girls the Three Amigos is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cs and coloured with copics.  I used some atyou spica pens along the trim of the dresses to give some shine to the girls, and on the glasses I used a clear glaze pen.  The DP is Carla Bella's Merry & Bright.  I added some shading around the image with peeled paint distress inks and added some glitter.

That's Karen on the left with her prosecco, me with my red wine & Leslie with some type of fancy 'tini! I thought it was perfect for the 3 of us!

I decorated the inside of the cards, the sentiment comes with the image.  I used MFT's fishtail Stax die-namics for the banner.

Thanks for stopping by & Happy Holidays!!

Thinking of You....

Happy Friday!!  Are you all ready for Christmas?!  I'm happy to say I'm done my shopping aside from groceries, but I know hubby will be willing to go to the grocery store & Costco this weekend - yes I'm lucky he doesn't mind crowds!

So Em decided to add a week of Bellariffic Fridays challenges - and this weeks theme was "Thinking of You".  When I was making this card I thought it wasn't going to get done because instead of bringing my water in a water bottle (also known as an adult sippy cup) I just brought a glass and you can guess what happened - yep 3/4 of my desk under water.  Miraculously it didn't go on any of the papers I had cut for the card.

For my card I used Uptown Girl Perry and her laptop (very similar to mine, except mine has different fruit!) and the sentiment is from Matilda on her swing.  The image is stamped with versafine black ink onto watercolour paper then coloured with a combo of distress makers, tombows (for a pop of colour) and faber castell gelatos.  The laptop is paper pieced on and is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest cream cs and coloured with copics, then I added some shine with a glaze pen.  The shading around the image is done with distress inks (walnut and antique linen)  I added some tiny rhinestones for the buttons on her shoes and pants.

The dp is EP's Everyday Eclectic. I can say that on side of the 6x6 pattern paper package is a little rippled but I do have a clean desk!

I decorated the inside of the card again using the the dp and razzleberry fizz cs.  The flower is Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Flower Garland.  The banner is MFT's fishtail stax die-namics

Please stop by Bloggabella to see all the amazing creations and remember to leave Em a comment. This is our last Bellariffic Friday of the year!!  We will be back Jan 11 with our first challenge - details to come in the new year.  Please stop by Bloggabella to see all the amazing creations and remember to leave Em a comment.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!

Sweet Sunday, Holiday Wishes

Today I'm back with another Sweet Sunday Sketch from Karen (SSSC174) and I stuck to the sketch!

For my card I made yet another holiday card - I realize I'm short on the ones I "hand" out!  I inked up the very sweet Mr Penguin goes for a Ride from Stamping Bella which includes the sweet Ramona

The image is stamped with versafine onyx black ink and then coloured with distress markers.  On the ornaments on the tree I added some shine with glossy accents.  For the trim on her coat I used liquid applique and glitter.  The snow is also liquid applique and glitter which I then heated.  The shading around the image is done with stormy sky distress inks.  The dp is Carta Bella's Merry & Bright.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see their creations and this weeks guest stamper.  Don't forget to link your card on Karen's blog if you play along with us and you can be a guest stamper!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Happy Holdiays & and extra week of Bellariffic Fridays

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge was a sketch - and I love a sketch.  Here's a reminder of it

For my card I used one of my favourite Stamping Bella holiday images - Birds Decorating Trees.

The image is stamped with versafine onyx black ink onto watercolour paper and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I coloured the image with distress markers, I LOVE them!  I added some shading with stormy sky distress ink.  For the decorations I used clear rhinestones and the snow on the ground is liquid applique and glitter that I just let dry.  The sentiment is embossed with silver embossing powder.  Now I took some liberties with the sketch and made the line between the pattern paper (EP's Very Merry) straight and added some black ribbon, twine and button.  In the top corner I added a large ghost snowflake and rhinestone.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes creations and what the sistahood sent Em.  Leave a comment and you could win some Bella Bucks.

I know last week I said this was our last challenge of year but da Bella decided to add another week!!  The challenge for next week is "Thinking of You".  It can be a Thinking of You Holiday card, Thinking of you for New Years card or Birthday card or Thinking of you because I'm Thinking of You!  Email your cards to Em by Thursday evening to be included on Bloggabella!

Thanks for stopping by & have great day!

Greetings of the Seasons

Today I'm going to show you the card I made for our holidays cards - I send out cards to lots of hubby's contacts so they can't be too cute and sweet, which is what I make most of the year!

My wonderful friend Gloria showed me the Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Poinsettia  die, then she showed me the paper & several dollars later I left the store with my master plan.

The poinsettia is cut with 2 different dp's (sorry I didn't write down the dp - it was 12x12 for a change so I don't have a package).  I then inked the petals with distress inks in peeled paint and a mixture of festive berries and barn door.  On the centres of the flowers I added some crystal stickler.

The Olive cs is embossed with cuttlebugs modern wallpaper embossing folder, which I inked with tea dye distress ink.

The sentiment Greetings of the Season is from Stamping Bella and was perfect for the card.  I stamped the sentiment on black cs with versamark ink then used copper embossing powder.  Clean and simple and not too thick to mail!!

Don't forget to play along with this weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge this awesome sketch.

Email your card to Em by Thursday evening to be included on Friday and you could win some bella bucks!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Snowboarding...

I played along with this weeks MFTWSC101 because I needed to make a card for our friends son for christmas & MFT's PI Snowboard Boy was perfect since he's a skier/snowboarder.

The image is stamped with mementos tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white cs and coloured with copics.  I paper pieced the snowboard using the dp from EP's Winter Park.  On the snowboard I used a clear glaze pen to give it some shine.  The shading around the image is done with stormy skies distress ink.  I embossed the blue strips with snowflakes then sanded the paper.  I added a ghost snowflake and a button to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Tag It....

Happy Friday - this weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme was to create a tag or add a tag to your card.  I decided to go with a tag.

I stamped A Little Something for You from Stamping Bella with versa fine black ink onto water colour paper, then embossed the image with black embossing powder.  I then cut the image out with MFT's fishtail stax die-namics and coloured it with distress markers.  I decided to go with non traditional holiday colours for the balloons and presents.  The sentiment banner is also a fishtail stax die-namics and the sentiment comes with the stamp.  I used a jumbo brad in the corner and added the green ribbon then a burgundy bow.  I didn't know how I was going to take the picture then I took a sip of water and the light went on!

You still have time to take part in the BELLANOV2012 challenge on SCS - the contest closes on at midnight EST on Dec 10.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see all the amazing babes creation and the sistahs - make sure you leave a comment Em's giving out big prizes this week!!

Next weeks challenge is our last one of the year and it's a sketch.  Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella for a chance to win some bella bucks

Especially for You

It's time for a Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge from Karen - (SSSC173)

I needed a birthday card for my friends little girl who turned 3 yesterday (and I dragged hubby to her birthday party last night.  Only 4 kids in total so he survived; barely!)

I inked up Stamping Bella's sweet Millie from Millie and Milo exchanging gifts with memento tuxedo black ink and stamped it onto bella's bestest white cs.  I coloured the image with copics and paper pieced the balloon, which I glazed with glossy accents for shine. The pink cs is embossed with cuttlebug's modern wallpaper embossing folder.  The dp is basic grey's Olivia (an oldie)  Now as you can guess the card just got passed to Mom really fast, but the lego I bought her had her interest for awhile!

If you have a chance to play along with the sketch remember to link you card on Karen's blog for a chance to be a Sweet Sunday Guest Stamper.  Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs and this weeks guests blog to see their creations

Thanks for stopping by & have a fabulous Sunday!!

Holiday Wishes

Happy Friday - this weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme was a sketch.  I decided to pull out one of my older  holiday image; Snowman Circle

I stamped the image with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white cs and coloured with copics.  For the snow I used liquid appliqué and glitter.  I love how this gives the snow dimension and sparkle, just like the snow that's fell in Calgary yesterday; the big fluffy stuff.   I added some rhinestone snowflakes on the one panel; it felt a little bare to me, and some rhinestones by the circle.  I used a green atyou spica pen on the polka dots on the wrapping, and a turquoise one on the outside of the buttons on the snowman.

The ds paper is MME's Winter Wonderland - and it had this super cute design that I knew I would never use on the front of my card so I used it to decorate the inside.  Now I know what to do with all those 6x6 papers that aren't right for the front of the card!!

Please stop by Bloggabella to see all the babes and sistah's creations, and leave a comment on Bloggabella to win some Bella Bucks.  You can also play along with the challenge Elaineabella is hosting on SCS - click here for all the details

Next weeks theme is to create a tag - now if you're not a tag person you could always create a tag on a card and send it in to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

BELLANOV2012....

Happy Wednesday - I hope everyone is having a great week!  Have you seen the BELLANOV2012 challenge over on SCS?  Hosted by our own Elaineabella?!  This is an easy challenge- anything goes & you have a chance to win a 25.00 Stamping Bell a gift voucher!  Challenge closed Dec 10 so you have lots of time to play along.

For my card (anything goes was perfect because it was already partly done) I inked up one of the sweet new releases from October - Ramona Loves to Glide.  How I wish I could glide as effortlessly as she does; I'm more of a weebles wobbles kind of girl!

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white cs and coloured with copics.  For the trim on her coat I used white liquid applique and glitter.  For the polka dots on her coat I used a lipstick red atyou spica pen.  The shading around Ramona is done with pumice stone distress ink (I decided she was skating in the evening) and I added some glitter around her for fresh snow.  The ds paper is Memory Boxes Yuletide, the banner behind Ramona is cut with MFT's fishtail stax die-namics. (there are now 2 layers so it's easy to stax them!)

On the inside of the card I repeated fishtail die in the dp only smaller and stamped the image with versamark ink.

Remember this weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is a sketch - email Em your card by Thursday to be included and you can also then link it on the SCS challenge for a double the chances of winning!

Thanks for stopping by!

Warm Winter Wishes

Happy Friday - wow this week flew by - I've been plucking away at my Christmas cards and I'm almost done, I hope to share it with you next week

Todays Bellariffic Fridays theme was to create a holiday card.  For mine I inked up one of Stamping Bella's new images Frostier

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink and stamped onto bella'a bestest white cs.  I then coloured the image with copics.  On the garland on the hat I used red stickles for the berries.  On the buttons I used glaze to give them some shine.  The shading around the image is done with pencils and gamsol.  I added some glitter.  The ds paper is basic greys aspen mist.  The sentiment is from Stamping Bella which I cut free hand.  I've had these octagon dies forever and I think this was the first time I used them I love them!

Next weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is a sketch - email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella

We are excited to announce that the Babe family is growing.  Em put out a DT call on Splitcoast and there were so many wonderful entrants that it made it hard for us to choose.  We are happy to announce we have two new babes joining us officially in Dec; although they are both so excited I think they might start sooner!  Please welcome Amanda Reed  and Angela Thomas !!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend!

Sweet Sunday and the CFL....

Happy Sunday!! It's the weekend before Grey Cup here in Canada so I'm looking forward to sitting on my couch watching the Eastern and then the all important Western final - Go Stamps!!

Karen has another Sweet Sunday Sketch for us, and when she first sent it out I that WHAT?!?!  I even sent a note out to the Sweet Sunday stampers expressing my feeling for this sketch BUT after letting it sit on my desk for a few days I had a lightbulb moment and all was good.  Here is the sketch that had me stumped at first:

My lightbulb moment came when I received my new stamps from Stamping Bella - I pulled a stamp and set it aside knowing it would be perfect.

The Reindeer and the Birdie is stamped with versa mark black ink onto watercolour paper and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  I coloured the image with distress markers.  The background shading is done with stormy sky distress ink.  The fluffy snowflakes are made with liquid appliqué and a heat tool.  For the bottom half of the card I embossed white cs with swiss dots.  The dp is basic greys aspen frost.  The banner is MFT's fishtail stax die-namics.  I used olive colour felt for the snowflake then a snowflake with vellum using MFT snowflake die-namics and added a rhinestone.  The sentiment is from Stamping Bella.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see their creations and if you play along with us remember to link your card on Karen's blog for a chance to be our guest Sweet Sunday Stamper

Holiday Wishes

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge was a sketch - you know I love a sketch, and I don't always "stick" exactly to them, use them more as a guideline as you will see today!

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card - yep I made a small change.

Uptown Girl Eve under the Mistletoe is stamped with versafine black ink onto water colour paper and coloured with distress markers.  On the trim on her dresses I used crystal stickles.  The ds paper is MME's All is Bright.  I added some crystal rhinestones in the corners and along the oval.  The shading around the image is done with antique linen distress ink.

On the inside of the card I simply used a piece of the ds paper cut with mft fishtail banner and then shaded with bundled sage distress ink.  The sentiment is from Stamping Bella

Next weeks theme is a perfect one for this time of the year - Holiday Wishes!  This is also perfect for all the yummy new stamps I have on my desk; not to pick one!  Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella  & you could win some bella bucks

Ramona share her Hot Chocolate

I'm so excited to show you one of the new images from Stamping Bella - OMG the new rubbah is AMAZING!!  Aside from the gorgeous colour (you know Em can't have plain colours) and can I tell you they stamp BEAUTIFULLY!!!  Can you tell I'm in total LOVE with the new rubbah?!

For my card today I played along with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch 170 since I didn't get to play along with all the Sweet Sunday Stampers.  I inked up Ramona shares her Hot Chocolate with memento tuxedo black ink and stamped the image onto bella's bestest white cs and coloured the image with copics.  For the marshmallows in the hot chocolate I used liquid applique.  The shading around the image is done with iced spruce distress ink.  The ds paper is MME's winter wonderland.

Snowy Bellariffic

Happy Friday!  Can I tell you how excited I am to be back playing along with Bellariffic Fridays?!  This weeks theme was to add snow to your card, which is fitting because here in Calgary we are getting a TON of snow - started snowing Thursday and is suppose to keep coming until Saturday morning!

I was so hoping my new rubbah would be here to play with for this card, but it arrived too late Thursday so I will have some peeks of the new images next week.  I LOVE the look of the new rubbah and that's it's cling mount although now I have to come up with new storage system - suggestions?!

For my card I inked up one of my favourite Uptown Girls - Quinn in her Boots.

I stamped the image with versafine ink onto watercolour paper then embossed the image with black embossing powder.  I coloured Quinn with distress markers.  Her jacket is coloured with festive berries reindeer.  I just put a drop on my splat pad then used the water colour pen and it worked perfectly! For the "snow" around her boots I used white liquid applique and glitter. The ds paper is Basic Greys aspen mist.  The border is MFT's Chevron Dies with icicles stickles down the centre of them.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of this weeks challenges cards and remember to leave a comment on Bloggabella for a chance to win some bella bucks.

Happy to be Back....

It's been awhile since I've been able to stamps.  Had an accident mid month and hurt my neck & arm so no stamping.  Now I have to limit my time at my desk, but at least I can slowly make some cards.  If there are typos in my posts please be gentle - I'm trying with only 1 hand!!

This is the card I had started the week of my accident - it was for Bellariffic Friday Sketch 21 on October 19.  I had inked up BeeDay Huggabugg from Stamping Bella and had it coloured but didn't have the card put together - finally it's all together.

The image is stamped on watercolour paper with black versafine ink then embossed with clear embossing powder.  I coloured the image using distress markers and a watercolour brush.  The present is paper pieced on (good thing it was cut out before the accident - don't think I could do that now!).  I added some glitter to her wings.  Then shading around the image is done with squeezed lemonade distress ink.  The ds paper is EP's Everyday Eclectic.

You still have time to play along with this weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge which is to add snow to your card.  Email your card to Em by Thurs to be included on Bloggabella on Friday.

I must confess there was a lot of backspacing on this post - I've only been using my Ipad or Iphone for emails and I keep hitting the space bar for the period on the computer- doesn't work!  And after a period it doesn't automatically put in the capital letter.  How quickly we adapt to habits!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Lulu's Snowman

As I write this post the rain is now turning into snow, and it's thundering out - how strange & how fitting that I inked up Stamping Bella's Lulu's Snowman

I played along with Jen's Deconstructed sketch from Thursday (73) It's been a long time since I've played along, and I only slightly tweaked the sketch; I made my card square to work with the larger image.

Lulu's Snowman is stamped on bella's bestest white cs and coloured with copics.  The shading on the image is done with pencils and gamsol.  The snowflakes are done with enamel essentials, the fur on the hats are done with liquid appliqué and glitter.  Here's a tip I learnt - don't put the enamel on before the liquid appliqué.  When I heated the liquid appliqué the enamel kind of popped so I had to re-due the enamel dots.  The shading around the image is done with Tim Holtz distress ink in evergreen bough.

The ds paper is an old one in my stash of 6x6 pads - Crate Papers Snow Day.  For the background banner I used MFT's Fishtail flags Stax and I finished off the card with some pearls. I carried the fishtail  flag stax onto the inside.

You still have time to play along with this weeks Bellariffic Fridays Sketch challenge - email your card to Em by Friday to be included on Bloggabella and you could win some bella bucks!

Hi

I needed a card to put in a package for a little boy and when I saw this weeks MFTWSC93 I was totally inspired

I used MFT's die-namics by the letters.  The ds paper is Bazzill Basic Paper Dino-Mite.  For the banner behind I used MFT's Fishtail Flags Stax die-namics.  I added two orange buttons in the top corner.

Thanks so much for stopping by

A Halloween Twist

HMMM I had my post all set to go BUT forgot to schedule it for Friday so here's my Bellariffic Friday card a wee bit late

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge was to make either a Halloween card or a cards using Halloween colours - I chose to go with Halloween colours.  The dp that I used to inspire my card is EP's Chillingsworth Manor.

I stamped Uptown Girls Victoria & Juliette's night out with versafine black ink onto watercolour paper then embossed the image with black embossing powder.  I coloured the image with distress markers then paper pieced the dresses with the dp.  I shaded around the image with spiced marmalade distress ink.  The flower is MFT's Upsy Daisy Die-namics.

On the inside of the card I shaded cream cs with spiced marmalade distress ink and stamped the sentiment that comes with the set.  I used MFT's Fishtail Flags Stax die-namics.

Please stop by the rest of the Babes blogs to see their creations and Bloggabella to see what the sistah's created.  Next weeks theme is a sketch -
Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included in next weeks Bellariffic Fridays on Bloggabella and you could win some bella bucks.
