Happy Birthday

to me.  Yep today is my birthday and for the first time a several years I'm not at some exotic local sitting by a pool drinking fruity drinks.  But I'm not sad because my parent's are here so that means my Mom will be making me a birthday cake!!  Yep Angel food with no icing (since I don't like icing & it's my cake!!) just some fruit YUM!!

ANYWAYS I'm sure your not here to hear about my birthday plans; you're here for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC148).

I used Stamping Bella's Birthday Definition Block and then lots of dp.

The dp is Basic Greys Indie Bloom.  Now I must admit I meant to sew on the bottom layer but had it all put together then I realized I forgot (oops)  The flower is MFT's die-namic prima donna petals.  I added an orange rhinestone in the centre.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see their creations and if you play along with us this week don't forget to link your card on Karen's blog.

We are taking a break for the rest of the year BUT will be back on Sunday January 1, 2012 with a new sketch!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

On top of the World

Happy Sunday - it's been a hectic week for me but I was able to work ahead this month and get my Sweet Sunday posts done.  Karen has a great sketch for us SSSC147 - so much so I didn't even flip it!!

For my card today I inked up a Stamping Bella image that I've had forever but don't think it had been inked up yet - Addy'tude is on top of the World by Tiddly Inks

As usual the image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics.  For her glasses I decided to make them sunglasses so I used a black glaze pen.  For the bling in her jewels I used a gelly roll pen.  I shaded around the image with pencils and gamsol then added some glitter.  The dp is MME's lime twist Fly a Kite.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see their creations and if you play along with us this week remember to link your card to Karen's blog.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day - I'm getting ready for my parent's arrival on Thursday!!

Popping By

Hope you are all having a great week - I'm trying to get holiday cards out & shopping done so it's shipped on time - fa la la la la!!

I bought part of my brothers family's gift this summer and left it with my Mom but I needed just a little something to finish it off.   Now when you live in a small town & go places you get your favourite spots that you can't get at home and this summer I discovered they love Kernals Popcorn for the drive home from any vacation so I grabbed them a gift card.  Now I started making a simple gift card holder and ended up making this tag which I realized would qualify for MFTGUESTDT1211

I inked up MFT's Pure Innocence Popping By.  I stamped the image with memento tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.  I paper pieced her top, and made it look layered since it's winter!  For the popcorn container I used a red atyou spica pen and a gelly roll pen.  The dp paper is MME's Holly Jolly 6x6 pad (love these!!)  For the sentiment I used MFT's die-namics first place ribbon award.  I love the ribbons from this die-namics for my sentiments it's so versatile!

Now my master plan was to send this tag to my Mom to put on their gift, but I have less then a week before she comes here for Christmas so I will send it to my brother & ask him to put it on his own gift - only a little tacky right?!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

SSSC 146 - time for Tea

Happy Sunday I'm happy I had time to work on Karen's SSSC 146 - she has another great sketch for us

YES I flipped the sketch - not intentionally but because I changed my mind on the dp layers and had to work with the image going the right way (since it mattered in which direction they went)

For my card I inked up Stamping Bella's Tilly the Teacup Girl from the Green Bean Baby line.  The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cream paper and coloured with copics.  I paper pieced the teacup and the flowers in her hair.  The ds paper is from  MME's Quite Contrary Jack & Jill 6x6 pad.  I added a prima flower with a prima sculpture flower in the centre and a die-namics small scallop border.  On the centre of the teacup flowers I used a turquoise atyou spica pen.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see their creations and if you play along with us this week don't forget to link your card on Karen's blog

Birthday Wishes

On Sunday I went to a 2 year olds birthday party.  Now there were only a few kids there, but for this non-parent that was a lot to take!  Hubby decided a Costco run would be more relaxing then the party & he was not far off!!

My girlfriend said no gifts since the birthday girl has lots of stuff, but her birthday is Dec 1, and I'm a December baby so there was no way I wasn't giving her a little gift!  That of course meant I needed a card for her so I went with Stamping Bella's Cupcake with a Huggabugg on top.

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white cs and coloured with copics.  For the sprinkles on the cupcake I used a turquoise atyou spica pen.  On the antennas I used crystal stickles.  The sentiment is from Stamping bella as well.  The ds paper is MME's Lime Twist Life of the Party.  I sponged on the bella's bestest cs with Tim Holtz distress Ink in Tattered Rose.

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is Holiday Cards - email your card to Em by Thursday to be included and you can win yourself some bella bucks!

I'm crazy about Stamping Bella's new Uptown Girls which were introduced this summer & I I have them all!!

Uptown Girls Victoria and Juliette's night out is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white cs and coloured with copics.  Along the fringe of their dresses I used black and warm highlights microfine glitter.  I used the black glitter on the black shoes and on the purple I used a clear glaze pen to give them some shine.  on the glasses I used a clear glaze pen.
The sentiment comes with the image and I took note from Paula and Cath and trimmed the sentiment to work with the image.

You still have time to play along with this weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme "Free Form".  Use any Stamping Bella image and send your card to Em by Thursday night to play along.

BRRR.....

Happy Sunday - Karen has another great sketch for us this week AND I didn't even mess around with it!!

It's really cold here in Calgary  so I've been bundled with a scarf like my image for this weeks SSSC but I think it's too cold to even skate outside like this sweet image from TCP Deep Breath.

Now I started making 1o of these because I was going to keep it simple.  The image is stamped on bella's bestest white cs with memento tuxedo black ink.  the skates and his nose are coloured with copics, the bunny is coloured with Caran d'ashe pencils and gamsol.  I also did a light shading around the image with pencils.  After I had it all coloured up I decided it would be brilliant to have his ear outside the nestie so I then re-stamped the image and then used a clear glaze pen for the ice and a gelly roll pen for the blades.  I then cut out the original image and paper pieced it then I cut and paper pieced the scarf and part of the hat which is stamped on ep's dots & stripes Christmas collection cs. Then I used white liquid applique and glitter for the trim.  I let it dry a bit then used the heat gun for a bit of a fluffy look.  I mounted the olive cs onto the black cs then ran them through my big shot with cuttlebugs snowflakes embossing folder.  Added the strip of ds paper and that was it - yep a quick and simple card NOT!!  I finished this one to get my post done now I have to finish the others!

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see their creations with Karen's sketch and remember if you play along with us this week link your card on Karen's blog.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great Sunday it's suppose to warm up to -10C here today!!

Today I have another holiday card to share with you - CHRISTMATINI!  It was perfect for this week Bellariffic Fridays sketch

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bellas bestest cs and coloured with copics.  For the decoration on the Christmas ball I used a gelly roll pen.  I then coated the entire glass with clear glaze pen.  The Christmas tree on the stir stick is paper pieced on.
The ds paper is MME's Merry Days.   Around the image I used Tim Holtz's distress ink in bundled sage and then sponged some versa magic wheat ink.  The baja breeze cs is embossed with cuttlebugs swirls folder then inked with the bundled safe distress ink.

If you like giveaways Paula has a great one for you - some Bella rubbah and all you have to do is play along with bellariffic Fridays this week or next week!  Next weeks theme is one that is inviting you to play along - FREE FORM.  Any Stamping Bella image, any design just send your card to Em by Thursday to be included and you could win some Bella bucks and Paula's giveaway!!

Birds Decorating

Happy Wednesday - I hope everyone is having a great week!  The temps here are changing and we have a skiff of snow on the ground & apparently more on the way which is making everyone put up their Christmas lights so this image was perfect!

I stamped Birds Decorating Trees onto bella's bestest paper with memento tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.  For the decorations on the trees I used tiny clear rhinestones (I'm partial to clear lights) and for the skiff of snow on the ground I used liquid applique and glitter.  The ds paper is MME's Holly Jolly and the cs is SU's Sage Shadow and Chocolate chip.  The sentiment is from Stamping Bella.  For the shading around the image I used a combination of a sky blue pencil with gamsol and tim holtz distress ink in old paper

You still have time to play along with this week Bellariffic Fridays - it's this fabulous sketch.  Email your card to Em by Thursday evening to be included and you can win some bella bucks!

Happy Sunday I hope everyone is having a great weekend!  Karen has another awesome sketch for us to play along with (SSSC143

For my card this week I didn't alter the sketch at all!!  I inked up an MFT image from LAST year that hadn't been inked yet (why I don't know!!)  WTG Winter is in the city

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics.  For her boots I used copics and then went over them with a black glaze pen.  The trim on her coat is liquid applique with glitter & then I just let it dry.  For the lamp posts I used a clear glaze pen on them for the metal look & for the flickering light I used a gelly roll pen.  The snow is sparkly fluff sugar.  The ds paper is echo parks season's of greetings 6x6 pad.

Holiday Wishes

Today's Bellariffic Fridays theme was to make a holiday card - since we all need them this time of year!! My inspiration from my card came from Crafty Cath this week who used a non Christmas card for a Christmas card.

For my card I inked up Izzie has a Prezzie and stamped the image onto bella's bestest cream paper and coloured the image copics.  Around the image I played around with some new Tim Holtz Distress inks from the Winter Collection. For the layout I used Jen's SKFYTT for November.  The DS paper is MME's Be Merry.  The sentiment is also from Stamping Bella.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the creations and remember to leave a comment to win some Bella bucks!  Next week we have a sketch by Ebruabella - I love how she uses holiday colours in the sketch!!

"Uptown Girl....

She's been living in her Uptown world"  Everytime I reach for one of my Uptown Girls from Stamping Bella Billy Joel's lyrics come ringing in my head!!
Today I have Uptown Girl Posh has a Present to share with you

The image is naturally stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics.  I had to paper piece her dress and used MME's Lime Twist life of the party (which she should be with all those presents!!) I used cuttlebugs swiss dots embossing folder on the cardstock to keep with the polka dots on her dress.  On the green bag I added a little bit of glitter.  I shaded around her with prismacolor pencils and added a little more glitter.  The sentiment comes with the image so I managed to add a sentiment panel too!!

Don't forget this weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is Holiday Cards - so send your card to Em by Thursday to be included & you could win some bella bucks.  ALSO Lindabella has a sweet give away until Thursday night (winner will be announced on Friday)  All you have to do is leave a comment on her blog in regards to you favourite themes for bellariffic fridays & you will be in the draw for a $25.00 gift voucher!!

I Prefer....

Sundays and Sweet Sunday Sketches!!  Karen has another great sketch for us this week (sssc142) and it was an easy one for me to flip ;)

Even stranger then me flipping it (NOT) is the fact that I wanted to add a sentiment to my card (I know shocking) so I actually added a sentiment panel; that means the next time there is a sentiment panel on a sketch I can take it off right?!

I inked up one of my new Kraftin Kimmie images that arrived in my mailbox this week - Sarah Shopper.  The image is stamped with mementos tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics.  I paper pieced her shopping bags with the ds paper MME's Stella & Rose - Gertie.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see their creations and remember if you play along this week link your card on Karen's blog

For my card (I made 4 of these babies) I inked up Stamping Bella's Reindeer Circle.  The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white cs and coloured with copics.  On the star I used a clear glaze pen on the circles.  For the holly I used a lipstick red atyou spica pen.  For the shading around the image I used prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  Finally I added some glitter.  The ds paper is MME's Darling Dear 6x6 pad.

Snowy Days....

Happy Friday - as I write this Thurs evening there is snow in our forecast; I'm not thrilled but hubby will be!  At least it fits with this weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme "is there snow at your house?!"

For my card this week I inked up one of my favourite bella holiday image snowy house.  The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cream cs and coloured with copics.  For the windows I used a clear glaze pen and for the lights I used merlot glitter.  The snow on the card is liquid applique with mirco fine glitter.  The ds paper is MME's Signature Collection 6x6 paper layered on soft sky and sage shadow cs.  I added some snowflakes made from the ds paper and the cardstock, which I sprayed with pearl tattered angels.

Next weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is HOLIDAY CARDS (clearly all us babes need to get our holiday cards done!!)  Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included next week & you can win some bella bucks.

Cheers to SSSC141

Happy Sunday - I hope you are having a great weekend! Karen has a fabulous sketch for us this week - no weird sizes of shapes this week!

SOOO if there aren't any weird shapes that means I can flip the sketch!

For my card this week I inked up MFT's a la modes Cheers girl. I was drawn to her because I spent Saturday shopping for new shoes that I can wear to a cocktail party.  Last weekend hubby & I went to a fabulous back tie event for a wonderful charity, but twice while walking up the stairs I walked right out of my shoes - very classy no?!  Now I'm about 6' tall and hubby is shorter so it's a wee bit of a challenge to find something flat & dressy but this weekend I had success!  ANYWAYS on with my card.  The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cream paper and coloured with copics.  I paper pieced the champagne glass (I prefer prosecco if I'm indulging) and used a clear glaze pen on the glass.  The ds paper is MME's lost & found Market Square.  Around the image I used distress ink and versamark ink.  For the scallop along the bottom I used MFT's small scallops border die namics.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see their creations and if you can play along with us this week don't forget to link your card on Karen's blog

Holiday Stripes

Happy Friday!!!  It's time for Bellariffic Fridays & this weeks theme is STRIPES.

For my card I inked up one of the new Uptown Girls that arrived this week - Eve Under the Mistletoe.

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cream paper and coloured with copics.  For her dress I used a piece of paper from MME's 6x6 pad of Be Merry.  After paper piecing her dress on I added the belt with is also paper pieced, and coloured with N8 then I used a clear glaze pen to give it a patent leather look.  For the buckle I used a silver atyou spica pen.  For the trim on her dress, arm decorations and shoes I used white liquid applique sprinkled with glitter and let it dry.  The soft sky cs is embossed with cuttlebugs candy cane stripes.  I added some snowflakes that are cut out from the ds paper and red cs then sprayed with tattered angels glimmer mist in pearl; then added a rhinestone to the centre.  I used only half of the sentiment that comes with the image.  For the shading around the image I used Tim Holtz distress ink in Weathered Wood.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the stripe creations and remember to leave a comment for a chance to win some bella bucks!  Next weeks theme is"Is there Snow at your house" - so all you have to do is used a Stamping Bella image that has snow in it or add some snow (I wouldn't suggest the real stuff) to your card and send it in to Em by Thursday to be included!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Happy Holidays

Today I have a card to share with you that is totally NOT my normal style - and I mass produced this one to make 46 of them (that's how much of the base paper I had!!)

Yesterday I was at my LSS and saw this Sizzix ornament die & embossing folder & really liked the idea of it.  I've been wanting to use some Tim Holtz distress ink on a project because I've noticed Ms Crafty Cath uses it & her cards are amazing so she has been encouraging me to purchase some (yes it was an easy push!!)

So I started with some red cs and ran it through the die; the nice thing is you can cut 4 sheets at a time & emboss 2 at a time.  Then I decided to make the topper for the ornament so I used a piece of kraft cs for that.  I then adhered it to the ornament and then used  Tim Holtz distress ink in vintage photo.  Now I must say I like the effect, but it is a little messy!!  I then decided to add the sentiment so I again ran strips of olive cs through the big shot on the ornament where I wanted it to sit (again I did 4 at a time) and then used the happy holidays sentiment from Stamping Bella and used some gold embossing powder to go with the aged effect.  I then used the distress ink on these strips & adhered them.  I didn't like the plain olive cs layer so I decided to emboss those with cuttlebugs swiss dots and again used the distress ink around the edges.  The base is SU's suede cs.

I t was a lot of fun to step outside my "box" here - I think this will be a perfect die for making gift tags too!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Season's Greetings

Happy Sunday!!  Today Karen has a sketch (SSSC140) that had me a little stumped at first, but it was fun to be challenged with something outside my "normal" box!

For my card I decided to make a Christmas card, in total I made 8 cards; I had thought about doing more HOWEVER my arm was getting tried from using the Big Shot.

The DS paper is some old SU designer paper Ski Slope layered on baja breeze.  I used MFT's snowflake die-namics (the smallest one) and sprayed them with tattered angels glimmer mist in pearl.  I layered the snowflakes on a piece of baja breeze cs that was cut with a small nesties square (see why the arm was getting a work out!!)  In the centre of the snowflakes I added a pearl bauble.  The sentiment is from Stamping Bella and I used black embossing powder for it.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see their take on SSSC140.  I hope you can play along with us this week, and if you do remember to link your card on Karen's blog.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!
