Chicks with Inkpads #2

Tuesday means another
challenge from Donna and
Cathy at Chicks with Inkpads. This weeks was an inspiration piece - I focused on the girlie pinks and the flowers for my card

For my card I used Stamping Bella's Krista's Flower stamp. The image is stamped with mementos tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics. I tried to get the shading close to the tulips in the picture - it took a mitt full of copics! The image is cut with a rectangle nesties and layered on a piece of bazzil cs which was cut with a nesties scallop.

The DS paper is from Bo Bunny and I layered it on the Bazzil cardstock as well, the base is Kraft. I paper pierced the ds paper and the scallop on the nesties and added some crystal Bella Bonbons. I used crystal effects on the vase to make it look closer to the gloss of a ceramic vase.

Make sure you stop by Chicks with Inkpads to see all the other amazing samples and play along with their inspiration

Thanks Donna & Cathy for thinking of me when you needed people to sample your challenges; it's an honour to be asked!!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day - still have snow in our forecast here so the only flowers I will be seeing for awhile will have to live in a vase!!

weekend sketch challenge

On Friday I saw that Charmaine (charmwarm) was hosting Beate's weekend sketch challenge & I hoped to find the time to play along.

The image is from Stamping Bella; it's one of the cute border punches she has - I coloured the flowers with copics and then stamped them again and cut them out & popped them up

The DS paper is from Bo bunny
and I sewed it with a fancy stitch - one day I will get those pants of hubby's hemmed!

I added some green glitter and added some green bella bonbons

Thanks for stopping by - have a great day

Bellariffic Reminder

Just a quick reminder that Bellariffic Fridays are back this week (April 3)

Don't you just LOVE the colours Em & Nicky found for us? There's all the colours I love; now to pick the perfect stamp!

Remember you have until 5pm EST on Thursday to email Emily your picture; make sure you put "bellariffic friday April 3" in the subject line and you will be entered to win BELLA BUCKS!!

I'm off to stamp now, lost my voice (again) so I have a great excuse to stay home; that & I really don't want to go out in the cold & snow - really why did we move back to Calgary? At least in Toronto it's warming up & there's no snow I would take rain anytime!!

A Christmas card on a Spring Winter Day...

Well the good news is we didn't get as much snow as last weekend - the bad news is we got a lot of snow!!! Seriously we have more snow now then we did at Christmas!! So it was fitting the my friend Janet's Corrosive Challenge #5 today was a Christmas/ winter card with an animal.

For this card I used Jen's SKFYTT - I look forward to them every week!!

The image is from Elzybells called Sleeping Reindeer; when I first saw this challenge from Janet I figured easy I have TONS of animal winter stamps - um NO I have tons of Snowmen & I don't think they count as animals!! This really was about the only one with a legit animal in it; I was thinking I would be using a snowman with a wee little bird until I came across this!!

I coloured the image with Lyras & Prismacolor using mineral spirits, still trying to get the hang of it; but I do find I really enjoy colouring with them.

I added candy cane Stickles for the balls on the tree & silver stickles for the garland. On his noise and the star I used Crystal effects to give it some shine.

The CB is white cs from Papertrey and the DS paper is from Scenic Route called Garland. I layered it and the image on SU's Riding Hood Red. To finish off the image I added a Ghost Snowflake with a 5mm red Bella Bonbon

Thanks Janet for another great challenge & Jen for the sketch!!

Has spring sprung???

When I saw Taylor's Cupcake Challenge this week I decided it would be perfect for another Easter card (that & the Easter DS paper was still on my desk!!)

The image is from Sweet Springs and is stamped with Memento's ink and coloured with Lyras & Prismacolor using mineral spirits. This is my first attempt with the prismacolor and I must say I did like having the bold colours to work with.

The image is cut with nesties and mounted on SU's Tempting Turquoise. The cb is So Saffron layered with Tempting Turquoise and Regal Rose. The DS paper is from Creative Imagination. I added a Heidi Swap ghost flower with an SU button. I added a bella bonbon to the top of the cupcake; the 5mm ones are a perfect fit. For the bunnies eye I used a pink TwinkleTaylors Tiny

I hope spring has sprung where you are; we are suppose to get more snow tonight; 4" of snow tonight in the Calgary and along the foothills (of the Rocky's) 12" - sadly we live closer to the foothills then I would like (today!!) Although I love my view of the Rocky's I don't LOVE the extra snow it means - at least hubby is in town for this snow fall!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

You Crack Me Up...

You know I am such a fan of these cute little Huggabuggs from Stamping Bella; I normally don't make Easter cards (laziness no other reason!) But I had to have this stamp!

I used the MOJO Monday sketch 79 for this card because I knew the image would fit perfecting.

You Crack Me Up Huggabugg is stamped with mementos tuxedo black in and coloured with copics. I added some ultra fine glitter to the wings
and flowers on the Huggabugg and her egg. On the chicks I used yellow flocking; this was my first attempt but I wanted them to look a little fuzzy (that's how there were when we hatched eggs in grade 7, you know just other year {wink, wink})

The DS paper is from Creative Imaginations (same sheet I used both sides) - I bought it when Karen was here and did we laugh because I said it would be perfect for Halloween!! Must be the association with chocolate?! When we lived in Toronto away from our families Easter was going out for lunch at our favourite hangout and buying a treat on the way home (at 50% off). This year we will make the trip to Edmonton to spend Easter with my husbands family - it will be a very different Easter from what we have been used to!

I decided to sew all the layers down and added some bella cotton candy bonbons. The sentiment comes with the huggabugg

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Chicks new challenge...

My friend Cathy, half of Chicks with Inkpads emailed me to ask if I would want to play along with a new challenge they are starting on Tuesday's NATURALLY I said YES!!! Cathy and Donna have such amazing distinctive styles (from each other!) and they are full of inspiration to me!

This week is a colour inspiration challenge; and it was a
perfect fit for me because there was orange!!! For the layout I used SCS220.

I chose Retro Boutique from Gina K - I love this set and it was the perfect image for the layout. The image is stamped with memeto black ink on Gina K's Pure Luxury cs and coloured with copics. I know just four lonely copics on this card!! On the shoes I added crystal effects to the middle yellow pump; although it didn't really show in the picture (sorry!!) For the clasps on 2 of the shoes I grabbed a couple of Taylored Expressions "Taylor's Tiny Twinkles" - which are fantastic although I am always worried about spilling the container!!

The card base is SU Tangerine Tango layered with a piece of SU's whisper white and the yellow DS paper is from Chatterbox called Fabulous Glitter Blooms, the orange is from Cosmo Cricket called Something Blue - I grabbed both of these at Scrapbooker's Paradise North; Gloria knows my weaknesses for paper so every time I go my basket seems to be full!!

Make sure you stop by Chicks with Inkpads to see all the other creations - thanks chicks for the great inspiration; I am looking forward to next week!!

Bitty Birthday Wishes

On Friday I checked out Charmwarms blog because I like to see the Weekend Sketch Challenge and this week Cambria was hosting it & I loved the sketch; it was one I could make a long card with which I have fun doing but it doesn't work with a lot of images.

For this card I dug out SU's Bitty Birthday; which is one of my favourite sets and stamped the images with mementos tuxedo black ink on Gina K's Pure luxury cardstock and coloured the images with my copics. The colour inspiration came from the DS paper which is also from SU it's Washington Apple.

The card base is SU's So Saffron and it measures 9x4 (fits perfectly in a letter envelope) I layered the DS paper on Pumpkin Pie and sewed the pieces together. The images are layered on Bashful Blue layered on Riding Hood Red; all cut with nesties.

I added some ultra fine glitter on parts of each image and added Bashful Blue Ribbon, the sentiment is from SU's "short & sweet" set

This should be a super quick card, except I managed to take most of the day - you know watched a little hockey and chatted A LOT on the phone, but I am sure this card could be made in no time if one actually focused (something I am lacking today!!)

Have a great Monday - hopefully we are done with the snow here!!!

A tough challenge...

My friend Janet at Corrosive Creations started a challenge blog (the corrosive challenge blog) and I like to play along but this weeks challenge of "under the sea" was really hard because I don't have any stamps of things "under" the sea SO I made my card about a pond or lagoon close to the sea :)
For my card I used the new Froggy Ketto from Stamping Bella. This stamp comes with both sizes so I decided to have to friends sitting on a lily pad enjoying the day. For the lily pad I used Stamping Bella's new grounder oval shadow stamp with Versamark dazzle ink and cut the image out.

The froggys are coloured with lyras & mineral spirits and then I added some crystal effects for their eyes. On the crown and edges of the points I added some stickles. The sentiment is also from Stamping bella and I added bella crystal light baubles.

Thanks for another great challenge Janet; you must be super excited about your trip to Boston tomorrow to see Karen!

Hope you all have a great Sunday - here in Calgary on this 3rd day of spring we have received at least 6" of snow and it's still coming down! Hubby is suppose to fly out later today; glad it's him & not me because everything will be way behind schedule - I will be staying in my house until I have do the the 2nd round of shovelling when it finally stops snowing & blowing. Yep I am really missing the east today especially since my head told me the storm was arriving before it did!

Cupcake Christmas

I know I seem to have embraced this Christmas card a week thing - this is actually my second Christmas card this week (I must toot my own horn!!)

I've had this image stamped and ready to go & it fit perfectly with Taylor's Cupcake Challenge this week (TECC60).

The image is from Season's Sweetings and is stamped with Memento tuxedo black ink on Gina K pure luxury cs and cut with an oval nesties. I coloured with lyras and mineral spirits and added some blue stickles for the garland and some Kaiser pink Rhinestones on the tree and the top of the cupcake.

The DS paper is from Fancy Pants Happy Holidays collections and it is layered on green bazzil cs that I found in my stash; it is actually a package of Christmas Bazzil, the blue is from the same package. The scallop is SU's eyelet border punch and I added Taylor's Tiny Twinkles along the holes of the punch.

Funny I made this card on the first day of Spring when it was absolutely gorgeous here; I even had my window open while colouring my Christmas card; weird I am usually panicking in December when it's freezing and snowing out!
Hope you have a great Saturday and thanks for taking the time to stop by

Bellariffic Friday!!

Can you believe it's already that time again?! Nicky found this amazing colour inspiration this week!!
S-T-E-L-L-A's chariot was perfect for this colour combination; and I am embarrassed to say how long it has been sitting in my bindah waiting for some lovin'!!

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black and then
coloured with copics. The DS paper is from My Minds Eye called Bloom & Grow; I am a huge fan of this line!

Because I wanted her chariot to be as glamorous as miss S-T-E-L-L-A I added some stickles to the windows and the dots on the pumpkin and the centers of the flowers on the wheels.

I love the how the sentiment fits perfectly with the image (my BFF and I discussed this when she was here!!) and I added some bella 5mm olive bonbons along the base.

Click here to see all the other amazing Bella Babes creations, and all the sistah's who played along; remember a new inspiration will be shown on Bloggabella on Monday and if you play along you can win Bella Bucks!!

Thanks for stopping by & for all you girls going to Stamp New England have a fantastic time; I wish the timing had been right for a visit to my BFF but maybe next time!!

S-T-E-L-L-A......

You know I LOVE all things S-T-E-L-L-A (especially screaming her name out; I know you can hear me now!!) BUT when I saw the new stamp - oh my I HAD TO HAVE IT!! I mean words to live by really - nothing drives me crazier then when people go on about all the bad stuff; this is my mantra - SUCK IT UP (Baby!!)

For this layout I used the MOJO 78 sketch, but I didn't make the oval at the bottom.

Suck it up S-T-E-L-L-A is stamped with memento black ink and coloured with copics. I added pink stickles for her crown and wand - she really is very girly while giving such sound advise!!

The DS paper is from Bo Bunny - and I decided to paper pierce around the edges, I know it seems if I'm not paper piecing I am paper piercing!!

I added some black grosgrain ribbon and instead of a bow some primas(about time I started using the "collection"!) with a Bella aqua bonbon in the middle.

Have a great day - and if anyone annoys you remember S-T-E-L-L-A's words of wisdom!!!

Tea-licious

I just received this sweet Tea for Two set from MFT and had to get it inked up, so I checked the sketch challenge for this week (MFTSC72) & off I went; although I did have to flip the sketch on it's side!

The image is stamped on Gina K's Pure Luxury cs with mementos black ink and then coloured with copics. I cut out the bunny's bum popped it up plus I used liquid applique and glitter to make it like "Peter Cotton Tail" I added orange peel stickles on the polka dots on the cup.

The image is cut with a rectangle nesties and layered on a scalloped rectangle nesties. The card base is papertrey white cs, layered with SU's chocolate chip. The DS paper is from My Minds Eye and it's called Bloom & Grow - I love this line probably because it has orange/pumpkin in it!! I decided to stitch the DS paper and then added pumpkin ribbon. I didn't add the sentiment; I rarely put sentiments on my cards a habit that I am having trouble breaking - this way I can use it for anything

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

Don't you just LOVE KETTO'S!!!

When Stamping Bella first introduced Ketto's I thought they were cute; but now that I have made a few cards I totally get why Em was stalking the artists to try and get them to make the designs for her - they are FANTASTIC!!

For this card I used fellow Bella Babe Jen's SKFYTT from Saturday. Ivy Ketto is stamped with Memento black and coloured with copics; I actually made myself colour her dress and not paper piece it! I did cut the ivy leaves and pop them up plus added some green stickles to the ivy and stardust stickles to Ivy's hair.

The DS paper is from Dream Street (forever family) I used both sides of the one sheet; don't you just love double sided DS paper; makes like so easy!!!

I paper pierced around the edges; yep another obsession I seem to have! I like how it gives some definition to the card.

I decorated the inside of this card using white as a base to write on and added strips of the polka dot ds paper to the top and bottom of the white.

Don't forget to check this weeks Bellariffic Fridays inspiration - remember you have until 5pm EST to email your picture to Em (title of email should be Bellariffic Friday Mar 20) and you will have a chance to win Bella Bucks!!

Just realized it's the 17th today - good thing I used Ivy and some green on this card! May the luck of the Irish be with all of us!!

Cupcake Christmas

As you all know last week I started my goal of 1 Christmas card per week; and I surpassed that by making 2 (YEAH ME!!) Well today I have this weeks Christmas card made, I must confess I am surprised I have been so good, really I didn't think I would make another until at least October!!

For this card I used Taylor's Cupcake Challenge 59 & a Taylored Expressions Cupcake stamp!!! I was really excited to ink up one from her Home Sweet Home set.

The image is stamped on Gina K's Pure Luxury cs and coloured with copics, popped the song book up off the cupcake and used liquid applique and glitter for the earmuffs.

The card base is Papertrey white cs layered with SU's riding hood red and DS paper from My Minds Eye called "be merry". The circle is SU's Kiwi Kiss and the strip of blue is baja breeze; both were embossed with cuttlebugs snowflakes. I added a 7mm olive Bella bonbon for the top of the cupcake.

Thanks for another great sketch Taylor; I am looking forward to my new stamps from Taylored Expressions arriving this week!!

BELLARIFFIC KETTO!!!

Another AMAZING Bellarific Friday inspiration from Emmabella & Nickabella this week - for this colour inspiration I had to use one of my new Ketto stamps - Flamenca; isn't she cute?!?!

Flamenca is stamped with mementos black ink and a little bit of her is coloured with copics. Her dress was PERFECT for paper piecing & you know how I love that! Her dress is stamped on Little Yellow Bicycle "love notes" DS paper and the blue on her skirt is also from Little Yellow Bicycle.

The image is cut with the nesties and layered on bashful blue then a piece of Little Yellow Bicycle and layered on a scallop rectangle in black. I paper pierced the scallops.

The card base is grey layered with black and the DS paper is from Little Yellow Bicycles "love notes". I paper pierced the edges of the ds paper and added some black organdy ribbon from my stash. I FINALLY used a GHOST flower and layered a black and grey button

Click here to see all the other amazing creations by the rest of the Bella Babes and all the other sistah's made.

Have a great weekend & thanks for stopping by,

feeling a little Christmasy....

I am trying to get myself on the schedule of making a Christmas card a week - so this is my start; lets see if I can keep up the schedule!!!

For this card I used this weeks Mojo Monday 77 which a different layout for me and I am really happy with how it turned out.

I used Polar Bear in a Circle from Stamping Bella and cut the image with a marvy circle punch then layered the image on chocolate brown cs cut with a nesties scallop circle. I paper piereced both layers of the scallops.

The image is coloured with copics and I added some glimmer for the snow with Bella liquid watercolour glitter. The card base is pumpkin layered with riding hood red, both embossed with swiss dots and the ds paper is from Best Creations Inc; I really like the glitter on the snowflakes and some of the dots. I added some ruby red 7mm bonbons from Stamping Bella.

WOW I just realized I made 2 winter/holiday cards this week; I might just get all my holidays cards done ahead of schedule (yeah I'm sure the wheels will fall off this train!!)

Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to check out BELLARIFFIC FRIDAYS!!! Remember you have until 5pm est. to email you card to Em for the contest & you could win Bella Bucks

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

Feeling a little Mischievous....

Yesterday I literally ran home from the mailbox (it's 1 house away so I survived!) because mine & Kar's package arrived from Elzybells!!! We both wanted to order the stamps so decided to order so they woudl arrive when she was here - now are both proud owners of Elyzbells {huge grin!!}

Mischievous Elzybell caught my eye right away because I grew up with brothers so snowball fights were a matter of life in the winter! I also love the little grin on her face; is she really going to throw that snowball?!

For this card I used SC218 from spiltcoast. Mischievous girl is stamped with mementos black ink on Gina K pure luxury cs and coloured with Lyras & mineral spirits.

The card base is papertrey white cs, layered with SU's bashful blue embossed with swiss dots. The DS paper Fancy Pants Sugar Plum. I added stickles for the snowballs and the snow flakes.

This was a fun card to make; and the cold snowy card was easy based on the cold snowy weather we are having here in Calgary; Kar & I stayed in & stamped today so she wouldn't be too sad about being here in March & not at home!!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day
