Lovely LULU

I wanted to play along with Beate's WSC95 and finally had a chance to make a card - I am really glad her weekend sketch challenge is back now it's just finding the time to play along regularly!

For this weeks sketch I chose Lulu Ketto because I need a birthday card for our niece & with any luck it will get to Edmonton on time! Lulu is stamped on Bella's Bestest paper and coloured with copics. I chose purple paper from my stash because that's one of her favourite colours. I used stickles on her wings because it's easy to smudge for some sparkle. Instead of a circle I used one of my ghost hearts with the matching paper on it. I added some bella string of pearl baubles instead of a sentiment

Thanks for stopping by - it's Monday so pop over to Bloggabella for this weeks Bellariffic Fridays sketch!

Rudolph the Mojo Reindeer....

Happy Saturday! It's sunny and gonna be nice today (might even need the AC; yes we are one of the few in Calgary who have it - thanks to the peeps who built our place!) So because it's gonna be a fantastic day I decided to post a Christmas card
I used this weeks Mojo sketch as my starting point and inked up Reindeer Circle and stamped it on Bella's bestest paper and coloured him with copics. The colours were chosen based on the new Christmas paper I have from American Crafts called Merry Mint. I decided to make him Rudolph so I added some red stickles to his nose. It doesn't really show in the pictures but I used my silver and red atyou spica pens on the decorations

Hubby & I are going to check out the new big mall in Calgary today - late though so we can stop for a nice dinner on the way home & maybe some vino to recover - there is only 1 way in & out right now YIKES maybe I should have some vino before we go...

Have a great Saturday

Rosey Bellariffic

Happy Friday! Really I am not sure where this week has gone; I am still in vaca mode which is bad because I have to get lots done before I leave for my BFF's (10 sleeps!!) and a 2 week vaca then :)

This weeks Bellariffic sketch is another one from our babe Meahni, and I didn't make a winter this time (I give her such a hard time because her cold weather is a nice day here!

For my card I chose Rose Bouquet which was one of the first non-bella stamps I bought and it's still one of my favs to colour. The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. I added some glamour dust glitter to the roses, and a little stickles to the seams in the leaves. The sentiment is also from Stamping Bella. The cb is whisper white and all the ds paper is from basic greys Lemonade line

Make sure you pop by Bloggabella to see all the other bellariffic friday cards & remember to leave a comment for a chance to win some bella bucks

Thanks you Fella...

We had a great trip to my parents last week, I spent time will my family & hubby golfed everyday so it was perfect! My Dad's birthday party was great; sunny, warm, great food and family - what more do you need?! I made this card as a thank you to my brother & sister in law; we all helped with the pick up, set up and clean up but they did all the co-ordinating & ordering of the food plus my brother barbecued steaks for everyone & did a fantastic job and we invaded their back yard since they live in Nelson & my parents are in a condo now it's the family event place now

For my card I used Mercy's sketch from this week and I inked up my long neglected Grillafella on bella's bestest paper and coloured him with my copics. The paper is from my stash of scraps (yes I make myself use those!) I forgot to take a picture of my copics, sorry I finished last night right before running out the door & put the markers away; I know bad habit cleaning up after I am done :)

Don't forget to play along with Bellariffic Fridays this week, Meahni has another great sketch for us to play along with click here for all the details

Wintery Bellariffic

So in honour of Meahni's sketch & her saying how cold she is in South Africa right now because it's winter I decided to make a Christmas card showing what I live in ALL WINTER long....

Yep a TOQUE and mitts - that is a staple here from late November until late March (at least last year it was lets hope this year is warmer!) The image is from Stamping Bella's new release and it's called Hat & mitts. The image is stamped on bella's bestest paper and coloured with my neglected lyras and mineral spirits. I added some stickles for the design on the toque and mitts.

The ds paper is a new holiday line from My Minds Eye - I love all their papers especially the fun colours they do for Christmas because they are not traditional! I added snowflakes with my martha stewart punch and added some bella bonbons.

Now don't forget to stop by Bloggabella to see what everyone else did with Meahni's amazing sketch

Have a great weekend & for all of you who are lucky enough to be taking Paula & Linda's classes have great time wish I could have joined you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DAD!!!

Today is the big barbecue and the weather is even co-operating out here; actually it's getting summer hot YEAH!! I think it's suppose to get into the low 90's!!

For my Dad's birthday card I used one of Jen's SKFYTT from awhile ago, but it was perfect with the paper and image I chose. I had a hard time deciding on the image & all my bindah's were spread around my stamp room when my hubby came in pointed to the mommy & baby cupcakes and said use those; so I did!

The image is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics. For the icing I used liquid applique and added some glamour dust glitter and let it dry. The ds paper is from Bo Bunny, and clearly lets ya know what the card is for!

I hope you are all having a great day - don't forget to get your cards to Em for this weeks Bellariffic Friday by midnight EST Thursday, this weeks sketch is by our new babe all the way from South Africa Meahni!

A special Invitation

We are celebrating my dad's birthday tomorrow with a wee party and these are the invitations I sent out, it's just a small party with my parents siblings and their spouses who live in town & then us kids and families so it should be a lot of fun - good thing my brother loves to barbecue because he's in charge of the steaks!
The stamps are from Taylored Expressions Whimsical Wishes line Boys will be Boys. The used black stazon and stamped the barbecue on metal sheet then cut it and paper pieced it. The rest of the barbecue is coloured with copics. The sentiment and hats are also from the Whimsical Wishes line but the set is Beary Special Accessories.

The cb is real red layered with old olive and the design paper is from Imaginese called twitter. The you're invited is stamped with Roman Fonts from Just Rite Stampers. I used the same nesties to cut out the invitation details and layered it on the inside of the card (forgot to take a picture sorry)

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day

Lovin' LULU

When Em had her last release I absolutely loved the new LULU collection, so I was very excited when my latest order was delivered last week!
I was also happy to see that Mercy is back with her Tuesday sketches, I really like her style and clean lines so I wanted to try and play along. I used last weeks sketch (MTSC34) with Emma Lulu.

The image is stamped onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics. I paper pieced and popped the bottom of her dress to give it some dimension. I added some glamour dust glitter to the flowers and used my pitch black atyou spica marker on her shoes. The DS paper is from basic grey's Lemonade line which I paper pierced around the edges; ya know if it's not pieced it should be pierced!

Don't forget to stop by Bloggabella today to see this weeks Bellariffic sketch and email Em your cards by Thursday midnight EST to have a chance to win Bellabucks!

Have a great day

A Late Birthday Wish

I realized I didn't send a birthday card to my nephew last month (shocking I know!) and since we are seeing him this week I figured I better get one made! I chose Hanging Sports Block for his card & it worked with Shannan's fantastic sketch flipped.

The image is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics, I didn't want a basketball, so instead coloured it light so it could be a soccer ball (they really do come without the black on them) because we are a family of soccer players & hockey players or fans. The DS paper is a old line from Basic Grey called Archaic - the colours were perfect for a teenager.

I decorated the inside of the card because the base was chocolate chip, and used my most popular sentiment!!

Don't forget to stop by Bloggabella later today to see all the other amazing cards & remember to leave a comment & you can win some BellaBucks

Happy Friday - it's cold (68ish F) and raining today, hoping for warmer temps tomorrow!

Across the Miles

When we lived in Toronto we became very good friends with our neighbours, and their son who is celebrating his birthday this weekend, wish we were there he was really funny with my hubby (who never really spent time around kids until him) and became a little skateboarder after we gave him a skateboard (he's a daredevil I am waiting for the call that something been broken!) Here's the card I made for him -

I used TECC77 for my card and chose Miles (the dragonfly) huggabugg which is stamped with mementos ink on Bella Bestest paper and coloured with copics. I added some my glaze pen on his glasses and then used some stars and buttons for the embellishment. The ds paper is from Bo Bunny. Embossed wild wasabi with cuttlebugs mosaic bubbles

Remember you have until Thursday at midnight est to send Em your cards for this weeks Bellariffic Fridays & you can win Bella bucks!

Thanks for stopping by & for all you gals in Texas where's it's too hot, here in Calgary it's cold and we are going to have web feet soon from all the rain we are suppose to get - this morning it's about 56F & I don't think it's suppose to get much warmer!

Have a great day

Kenya wishes

I have a stack of sketches that I haven't had a chance to make, and at the very top was this Bellariffic Friday sketch from July 17th by my friend Joanne (see you soon!!)

I chose Kenya Ketto and stamped her on Bella's Bestest Paper and coloured her with copics and added some glitter and used my glaze pen on the flowers on her shoes & in the centre of the flowers on her dress
The DS paper is from Making Memories called Great escapes. The cb is baja breeze and layered with kiwi kiss, the ribbon is kiwi kiss.

After I finished this card I realized it was the perfect birthday card for my cousin Crystal because she LOVES green & she went to Africa and did an amazing scrapbook of her trip. She is also the one who introduced me to all things scrap booking and took me to my first stamping party - yep she introduced me to this very slippery slope of a hobby! Her birthday was on Saturday & I actually got her card in the mail BEFORE her birthday so I am hoping it arrived before today!

Don't forget to stop by Bloggabella to see what Em has in store for Bellariffic Friday this week!

I love all things ADDY 'tude so for this weeks Bellariffic Friday I chose ADDY 'tude Loves to Sparkle for Paula's stellar sketch.

I stamped the image on Bella's Bestest paper & coloured her with copics. The image is cut out with a rectangle nesties & layered on a piece of bazzil cs. I paper pieced her wrap and added some glitter to her very large diamond!! For her glasses I used my glaze pen (love it!) The DS paper is from SEI's Mimosa line. The sentiment comes with the stamp, I stamped it with black ink then went over it with my Atyou Spica pen in black to give it some sparkle

Gratty Mojo

When I saw this weeks Mojo sketch I wanted to play along - I always love their sketches because they are always such clean lines.

I chose Gratty 'tude from Stamping Bella - she is so sweet! I stamped her on bella's bestest paper with mementos ink and coloured her with copics. I added some green stickles to the centre of the flowers and used an atyou spica pen on the polka dots on her dress to make them stand out.

Instead of a bow I added some bella bonbons in burnt honey to give some bling to the card, the stamp comes with a sentiment which I put inside the card.

Don't forget to get your card to Em for this weeks Bellariffic Fridays - she is extending the time from 5pm est on Thursday to midnight EST and they will be posted on Friday.

A Late Bellariffic

Since I wasn't able to play along for a couple of Bellariffic challenges I have decided that better late then never will have to apply - today I used Karen's sketch from July 24 click here if you missed all the amazing cards

Pierrette Pointy toes is stamped with mementos ink on Bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics. I added some glamour dust glitter to the flowers and her wings and cut the image with a rectangle nesties. The DS paper is from Basic Greys line
called Sultry, which I really liked when it came out because I still have a lot of it!

I decorated the inside with SU whisper white and layered some of the ds paper on the top & bottom - the sentiment is from Stamping Bella & it's one of my favourite; it goes with so many of the sets.

Speaking of Stamping Bella don't forget you have until August 5th to take advantage of free worldwide shipping on all orders over 50.00!! Em also showed the sketch for this weeks Bellariffic from Paula, remember you have until 5pm EST Thursday to email your card to Em.

Beach Baby, Beach Baby

Can you believe it's already August?! The summer days seem to fly by, but those long cold winter days seem to last forever! I can't complain we have had some nice weather here in Calgary - hopefully it will last through the month!

I chose Beachabella this month because everyone loves the beach! When I was growing up we had a cabin (truly a cabin) on the lake just outside my hometown of Nelson BC and it was fantastic we spent all day in or on the water it was simply the best way to spend our summer days! My parents sold it when I graduated high school & it was very traumatic to think of going to a public beach thankfully a year later they had a home on the lake again - so only 1 year of trauma for me :)

Don't forget Em is offering Free Shipping on all orders over $50.00 WORLDWIDE!! I know how brilliant when she had such a fab release on Thursday - my order is very long!!

Monday is a holiday here so we are hoping the weather co-operates but it never seems to on a holiday does it?!

Have a great day

Dana
