Cheers to SSSC141

Happy Sunday - I hope you are having a great weekend! Karen has a fabulous sketch for us this week - no weird sizes of shapes this week!

SOOO if there aren't any weird shapes that means I can flip the sketch!

For my card this week I inked up MFT's a la modes Cheers girl. I was drawn to her because I spent Saturday shopping for new shoes that I can wear to a cocktail party.  Last weekend hubby & I went to a fabulous back tie event for a wonderful charity, but twice while walking up the stairs I walked right out of my shoes - very classy no?!  Now I'm about 6' tall and hubby is shorter so it's a wee bit of a challenge to find something flat & dressy but this weekend I had success!  ANYWAYS on with my card.  The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cream paper and coloured with copics.  I paper pieced the champagne glass (I prefer prosecco if I'm indulging) and used a clear glaze pen on the glass.  The ds paper is MME's lost & found Market Square.  Around the image I used distress ink and versamark ink.  For the scallop along the bottom I used MFT's small scallops border die namics.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see their creations and if you can play along with us this week don't forget to link your card on Karen's blog

Holiday Stripes

Happy Friday!!!  It's time for Bellariffic Fridays & this weeks theme is STRIPES.

For my card I inked up one of the new Uptown Girls that arrived this week - Eve Under the Mistletoe.

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cream paper and coloured with copics.  For her dress I used a piece of paper from MME's 6x6 pad of Be Merry.  After paper piecing her dress on I added the belt with is also paper pieced, and coloured with N8 then I used a clear glaze pen to give it a patent leather look.  For the buckle I used a silver atyou spica pen.  For the trim on her dress, arm decorations and shoes I used white liquid applique sprinkled with glitter and let it dry.  The soft sky cs is embossed with cuttlebugs candy cane stripes.  I added some snowflakes that are cut out from the ds paper and red cs then sprayed with tattered angels glimmer mist in pearl; then added a rhinestone to the centre.  I used only half of the sentiment that comes with the image.  For the shading around the image I used Tim Holtz distress ink in Weathered Wood.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the stripe creations and remember to leave a comment for a chance to win some bella bucks!  Next weeks theme is"Is there Snow at your house" - so all you have to do is used a Stamping Bella image that has snow in it or add some snow (I wouldn't suggest the real stuff) to your card and send it in to Em by Thursday to be included!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Happy Holidays

Today I have a card to share with you that is totally NOT my normal style - and I mass produced this one to make 46 of them (that's how much of the base paper I had!!)

Yesterday I was at my LSS and saw this Sizzix ornament die & embossing folder & really liked the idea of it.  I've been wanting to use some Tim Holtz distress ink on a project because I've noticed Ms Crafty Cath uses it & her cards are amazing so she has been encouraging me to purchase some (yes it was an easy push!!)

So I started with some red cs and ran it through the die; the nice thing is you can cut 4 sheets at a time & emboss 2 at a time.  Then I decided to make the topper for the ornament so I used a piece of kraft cs for that.  I then adhered it to the ornament and then used  Tim Holtz distress ink in vintage photo.  Now I must say I like the effect, but it is a little messy!!  I then decided to add the sentiment so I again ran strips of olive cs through the big shot on the ornament where I wanted it to sit (again I did 4 at a time) and then used the happy holidays sentiment from Stamping Bella and used some gold embossing powder to go with the aged effect.  I then used the distress ink on these strips & adhered them.  I didn't like the plain olive cs layer so I decided to emboss those with cuttlebugs swiss dots and again used the distress ink around the edges.  The base is SU's suede cs.

I t was a lot of fun to step outside my "box" here - I think this will be a perfect die for making gift tags too!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Season's Greetings

Happy Sunday!!  Today Karen has a sketch (SSSC140) that had me a little stumped at first, but it was fun to be challenged with something outside my "normal" box!

For my card I decided to make a Christmas card, in total I made 8 cards; I had thought about doing more HOWEVER my arm was getting tried from using the Big Shot.

The DS paper is some old SU designer paper Ski Slope layered on baja breeze.  I used MFT's snowflake die-namics (the smallest one) and sprayed them with tattered angels glimmer mist in pearl.  I layered the snowflakes on a piece of baja breeze cs that was cut with a small nesties square (see why the arm was getting a work out!!)  In the centre of the snowflakes I added a pearl bauble.  The sentiment is from Stamping Bella and I used black embossing powder for it.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see their take on SSSC140.  I hope you can play along with us this week, and if you do remember to link your card on Karen's blog.

Some Holiday Wishes....

This week we have a new babe in da house!!  Regan has joined us & we are thrilled to have her!

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays was a sketch  to play along with that Ebruabella designed for us, and I must admit I had to take some liberties with this one!  If you stop by regularly you know I'm not a fan of anything tilted so I couldn't make the bottom panel like her sketch.

For my card I decided it was time to get another holiday card done - I inked up Lulu's Ornaments and stamped the image with mementos tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cream paper.  I coloured the ornaments with copics, and added used a clear glaze pen and several atyou spica pens on the ornaments.  The ds paper is from echo parks Seasons of Greetings 6x6 paper pack.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes creations and what the sistah did with the sketch.  Next weeks theme is "Bring on the Stripes" use stripes anywhere on your card and email your card to Em by Thursday to be included next week & you can win some bella bucks!!

Together we can do SO MUCH....

Well I managed to finish my SSSC139 card this morning, again sorry for being late.  I had planned to work on my card on Friday, although how I don't know since I was out until mid afternoon & we had company for dinner - so where I was going to find the time is beyond me!  Then yesterday the headache was too much to colour!  Today it's better so I figured get it done before it gets worse!!

For my card I used a Stamping Bella image called Friends United.  To make my image work with the sketch I made my card a square card; but I didn't flip it!!

Friends United is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest cream cs and coloured with copics.  I used a black atyou spica pen randomly on the image to give it some bling and depth.  I shaded around the image with Versa Magic wheat, and on the edges I added sponged some sage shadow ink. The ds paper is MME"s Lost & Found Market Square.  Instead of banners I used the smallest spellbinders oval scallop die and added some buttons.

I decorated the inside of my card because I wanted to use the sentiment that comes with the imaged.  I love how decorated insides look, but I must admit I forget to do them!

Remember to link you card on Karen's blog if you play along this week and if you haven't already please stop by the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see their creations.

Trick or Treat....

We have a treat for you!!  One of the original babes has come back to the fold......Shannan Tuebner!!  We are all very excited to have her back on the team - make sure you pop by her blog to welcome her back!!

This weeks theme was Halloween - now I must admit this is not a holiday I get excited about (sorry Leslie).  I don't even buy halloween paper, which is shocking because I love paper!

For my card I inked up Trick or Treat a bella and stamped the image onto Bella's bestest paper and coloured her with copics.  I used a clear glaze pen on the treat pumpkin.  I used Jen's SKFYTT from October for my card and found some pumpkin pie ds paper in a cupboard, mixed it with elegant eggplant & black and there are my halloween colours!  I inked around the image with mementos versamagic in tea leaves and aspen mist.  I added some glitter around the top of ms. bella.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes & sistah's creations and remember to leave a comment to win some bella bucks, which you could use on this weeks mini release!!  Don't forget FREE SHIPPING on all orders over 55.00 until 11:59 pm EST on Monday Oct 17!!

Is it 5 O'clock?!?!

Em is going back to basics for us & I'm so excited - instead of doing big releases she will be doing what she used to do - mini releases like the one she did this week! And with this mini release Em has a FREE SHIPPING  (freeshippingoctober) promo on all orders over $55.00!!

In honour of the new Uptown Girls I inked up one from the last release - Madison has a Margarita.

Madison is stamped with mementos tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cream paper and coloured with copics.  On the glass I used a clear glaze pen and around the rim I used a gelly roll pen for the salt (or sugar) depending on the margarita flavour (something I've heard...)  I love the sentiment that comes with the stamp - it's always 5 somewhere!!  The ds paper is from lilybeedesign called Happily Lost; which one could be if they had too many margarita's!!

Don't forget this weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is Halloween email your card to Em buy Thursday to be included and you could win some bella bucks (which you could use toward your  purchase with fee shipping - just sayin')

Sweet Sunday 138

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadian peeps out there!  I hope you're having a great one!  Today Karen has a super challenging sketch for you (SSSC138)!  I have had such a run with allergies this week and a wicked headache and now no voice the only reason I managed to play along and not flake out is my BFF Karen M talked me through it!
Here is the tip she told me - start with a piece of 5 1/4 x 4 white cs and simply layer you pieces on at the angle - the 3 centre strips are 1 5/8" the 2 corner ones are a little narrower.  Now make sure you cut the strips about 6" long so you can lay them at an angle.  Once they are on trim them down to match your white cs. Simple right?!

I decided to make a Halloween card with a sweet stamp that arrived in the mail for me from my wonderful friend Leslie.  I inked up Belinda Bones from Kraftin Kimmie's stamps and coloured her with copics. As you can see I had to flip the sketch this week to work with my image.  It doesn't show in the picture but on her bones I used a clear glaze pen; she has healthy bones she must take her calcium?!  The ds paper is and old stash of SU's pumpkin pie layered with elegant eggplant and kiwi kiss cardstock.  For the shading around the image I used versa magic inks in aspen mist & tea leaves.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see there creations; I am curious to see how they all turned out since we all had comments about the sketch!!  Remember to link your card on Karen's blog if you play along; really with the tip it's do-able

Fall Colours....

Today's Bellariffic Fridays theme was to use fall colours on your card - let me tell you it's fall here!!!  I had my furnaces cleaned out yesterday & it was chilly having the front door open; I almost had to put on socks & I hate socks!!

For my card today I went with some old school techniques - I used a brayer (my friend Leslie had reminded me of this technique a few weeks ago so thanks for the inspiration) and I embossed my image.

I started with some glossy card stock and brayered Summer Sun and Pumpkin Pie ink onto the piece, they around the top edge I sponged on Ruby Red ink.  Once it had dried I stamped my image Shady Leaves with versmark ink then used some copper embossing powder.  As you can see there are a few spot where the embossing powder & ink didn't stick, but I liked the effect so went with it.  The strip of ds paper is from my friend Jeannie who lent me her WeR memory keepers 6x6 pad called Autumn Splendor

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the creations, and next weeks theme is HALLOWEEN so get your ghost, goblins and pumpkins inked up and email your cards to Em by Thursday to be included in the roundup and you could win some bella bucks

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

Sending Some Happy Mail

I always look at the MFT guest designer contest, but through the summer I was away so much I didn't have time/supplies where I was to play along.  This weekend I saw this months challenge - MFTGUESTDT1011 was to make the Perfect Package.  Hmmm I always give away cards at Christmas to my Mom & friend so why not get ahead of the game & get a package made?!

I have to say I loved this project because it involved a sweet PI image - Happy Mail and several MFT die-namics.

I stamped MFT's PI Happy Mail onto cream cs and coloured the image with copics.  I paper pieced her dress with a pattern from the 6x6 mme's blink of an eye pad and then paper pieced the collar, pockets and shoes with so saffron cs.  On her shoes I used a clear glaze pen and for the heart in the mailbox I used a red atyou spica pen.

For the box I covered the back, top, and front with 1 piece of kraft cs.  For the folds I just scored the cs so it would fold to open and close.  I then added some kraft cs on the side panels.  I then layered soft blue, so saffron cs and a piece of ds paper (mme's blink of an eye) and stitched the layers together.  I then did a centre strip using the same layer pattern but a different piece from the ds paper.  For the sentiment I used MFT's die-namics first place award ribbon die.  I then added some flowers made with MFT's die-namics Upsy Daisy .  On the front panel I used the same pattern for my cs and patterned paper then added a scallop from MFT's Jumbo Scallop Die-namic, added some ribbon and flower rhinestones.

I'm happy that I have started getting myself organized for Christmas, one project done and too many still to do!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

Baby Congrats

Happy Sunday, I'm back today with this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC137)   Karen challenged up a little this week with a tall skinny sketch

Can you believe I totally stuck to the sketch & didn't flip it!  I needed a baby card to tuck in with  a parcel that I must send to friends in Mexico (with our postal rates I can only imagine how much that will cost!!)  So this sketch was perfect!!

I inked up Stamping Bella's baby buggy bumper and stamped it onto bella's bestest paper.  The image is coloured with copics.  On the hearts I used some crystal stickles to give some shine and added some tiny rhinestones on the centre of the wheels and on the buggy.  The ds paper is an old one - BG Two Scoops.  The finished card measures 6x3.5"

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers blogs to see their creations, and if you play along with us this week remember to link your card on Karen's blog.

October Calendar

Wow Oct 1st already - I so don't want the fall weather to come!!

For my calendar page this month I struggled because I didn't want to repeat an image from last years calendar (bewitched a tude) so instead I inked up one of Stamping Bella's the Pixies by Tiddly Inks.  The image is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and I coloured her with copics, in halloween colours.  I added some glitter to her wings.

Don't forget to play along with this weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme -FALL COLOURS!  Email your cards to Em by Thursday to be included.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day
