Belleriffic Release!!

I was SO LUCKY to be at the store last week & Em is so sweet she let a few of the new releases make their way west with me :)

I'd like to introduce AMPLEE 'tude - isn't she the sweetest with ample ice cream! Oh how I wish I could eat ice cream like that & not feel crappy after!! Anyways AMPLEE 'tude is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics. I paper pieced the cone (you know I have to paper piece something) and her hair band (yes, I am bit of a freak when it comes to cutting stuff out!)

The DS is from Stamping Bella as well it's from Bella Blvd (pack your bags); I was so smart this trip I took a hard 12x12 paper case with me so my new paper wouldn't get bent in my suitcase - brilliant no?!

I added some stickles to the ice cream so it looks all frozen and yummy - maybe one day it will be warm enough here & stop snowing & I will be tempted by ice cream!! I added some 7mm Ruby Red Bella Bonbons along the bottom.

If you haven't had a chance make sure you pop over to Stamping Bella & check out "what's new" because da Bella is offering FREE SHIPPING on any order over $50.00 until May 4, click here to get the details.

Just a reminder there are 2 contests over on SCS in celebration of the release, the first is to use something "NEW" on your card, here's the link for the details. The second challenge is a colour challenge, here's the link for the colours - both are open until this Saturday at 8pm EST when
someone from each challenge will win a $35.00 Stamping Bella gift card!!

Along with the two challenges on SCS this week remember Bellariffic Friday is coming up - make sure you have your cards emailed to Em by 5pm EST on Thursday & here's a lookie look at Bella Babe Jen's amazing sketch we are using this week

Two Challenges & a Kit!!

I am so excited - I managed to do 2 challenges and broke open my Taylored Expression Key ingredients kit for April (March's is still waiting for some lovin'!!)

My friend Janet's challenge this week over at the Corrosive Challenge blog was to make a Mother's Day card; Janet lost her mother to cancer so big hugs to her for making this one of her challenges as Mothers Day is tough for her. I have to thank her because now my mom MIGHT get her card on time; you know it still have to get into the mailbox! Her gift is always late because I deliver it in person; which she prefers :)

I played along with the MOJO Monday 84 challenge for my card. The image is from Taylored Expressions Fresh Flowers set which is designed by the amazingly talented Nancy McKinney. The image is stamped with memento's tuxedo black ink on Taylored Expressions vanilla cs and coloured with copics.

I popped up 1 of the flowers and paper pieced the center on the big flower. I added some tiny hearts from Taylor's Multi-colored Twinkle Shapes. The image and the sentiment are both cut with nesties

I really like the kits (the March one looks really pretty...) they are definitely worth purchasing!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great night - mine so far is perfect; the Flames are losing the hockey game so I am a happy girl :) - sorry Wendy!!

Oh no..

I don't know what happened the last couple of weeks but I haven't been keeping up with my Christmas card a week plan & boy do I feel guilty! I am hoping to get back on track, but I won't play catch up because I don't mind making the Christmas cards when it doesn't feel like winter; unfortunately it's snowed everyday since Thursday so it's not feeling like the end of April, more like December - right now both my hubby & I are looking at the weather in Toronto & are wondering why we moved back to this crazy weather place!!

Anyways, for this sweet Elzybells Angel card I used Taylored Expressions cupcake Challenge from this week. The image is stamped with memento's tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics. For her wings I used micro glitter and her halo is done with stickles.

The cardbase is SU's real red layered with bazzil blue and the DS paper is from Fancy pants - I chose red because of the red circles (that is under the blue - don't you hate it when that happens!)

The sentiment is from Stamping bella and I added a ghost snowflake and a 7mm red Bella Bonbon

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day - we are suppose to get more snow crazy no?!?!

GIRLIE BELLARIFFIC

This weeks Bellariffic inspiration was pink and chocolate & Em used her croppin cutie for the inspiration - which if you don't have is perfect for on your desk; yes Leslie I use it all the time so thank you again for my wonderful gift when I was moving :)

Funny I just bought this stamp when I was in the store on Monday; Nicky said it's one of her favs so that was enough to make me buy it! Wedding dress in a circle is stamped with memento ink and coloured with lyras, prismacolours with mineral spirits, for the flesh tone I used my copics (E000 & E00).

I added some Glamour dust glitter (another purchase on Monday!) and cut the bow and popped it up. The DS paper is from Bo Bunny. I decided to layer my border punches and layered the image with nesties circles and ovals

Make sure you pop over to Bloggabella to see all the amazing creations & remember there will be a new inspiration on Monday

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

FINALLY

I made it into my stamp room! I actually started this card last night but then I got caught up watching hockey (a hazard this time of year for me!) Unlike most here is Calgary I was sad to see them win last night; being an Oilers fan I could NEVER cheer for the Flames so go Chicago go!!

This weeks challenge over at The Corrosive Challenge blog was words only - yeah not one I was excited about but I wanted to try it; you know for a someone who doesn't like to put sentiments on her cards JUST using a sentiment was a big change!

The sentiment I used is from Unity stamps & it's the first one of their stamps I've bought; Scrapbookers Paradise North now carries their stamps and when I saw this one I knew I had to have it.

The CB is SU's Pacific Point, layered with Tangerine Tango, the DS paper is Basic Grey Marrakesh. The sentiment is stamped on very vanilla layered on Baja Breeze and Tangerine Tango.

I didn't add any embellishments, I decided the ds paper and the sentiment were enough, after I finished I realized I should have picked a ds paper that was a masculine & I would have had a perfect card for my nephew who is graduating from University - now I will have to replicate this card for him!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great night

Still recovering

I had such a fantastic time in Toronto & Monday was too much fun at the Bella store - THEY HAVE SO MUCH STUFF!! When I flew to Toronto my suitcase seemed so light; not so much when I came home & I had all my new rubbah in my carry on in case my suitcase went MIA!!

This is a picture of all of us at the store - it was so nice of all the girls to drive there in the pouring rain (disclaimer for my hair!!) to see me & Karen was a nice surprise for all (of course I knew she was coming!!) The first picture is of Janet, myself, Karen, Miche and down in front is Leslie (who refuses to start a blog)

The next picture has us plus Em and Nicky - oh they are the sweetest!! We tried to get Ryan and Dina in the pictures but they flat out refused!!

Finally that's me & my BFF; yep we are always that happy to be around each other!!

OK now while I was there Em took a picture of this weeks inspiration so you still have time to check it out and then email her your card by 5pm EST tomorrow; remember some one's gonna win bella bucks.....

It's snowing here (I should have stayed in TO!!) so I will be home this afternoon unpacking and finding home for my new stuff - I will have something to show you tomorrow I promise!!

Ah Babies....

So while I am in Toronto I get to see my wonderful cousin who I miss terribly!! She became a grandma for the 2nd time in January so I had fun shopping for cute little girls stuff to bring with me & of course I needed a card. Funny thing I don't own a lot of baby stuff (maybe that's because I never had one?!) so I searched in my bindah's and came across this sweet teddy bear from Stamping Bella

My Beary Best Friend is stamped with memento brown ink and coloured with lyras, prismacolours and mineral spirits. I did use some copics for the bright pink spots. The image is cut and mounted on a chocolate nesties square, then a basic grey scalloped square, then another chocolate nesties square. The DS paper is from Basic Greys Bittersweet line.

Today I am going to Stamping Bella (aka Bellaland or My Happy Place) and I am so excited to see everyone there! My girlfriends Leslie, Miche & Janet are all coming too so it will be a great day -

Thanks for stopping by

It's Bellariffic Time!!

Don't you just love Bellariffic Fridays & the amazing inspiration Em always finds!! This was had so many colours that I had a hard time figuring out where to start!! I actually read the page & realized it was all about fashion so I grabbed Stamping Bella's Shoebag stamp - 'cuz what sistah doesn't like shoes!!!

Shoebag is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink & coloured with copics. The image is cut with nesties and mounted on DS from Pebbles Inc. which I sewed onto Riding hood red paper I added some celery ribbon and some red bella bonbons

Make sure you pop over to Bloggabella to see all the other babes designs & meet the newest bella babe!! I am really excited to see what all the sistahs came up with!

Have a great weekend - I know I will since I'm in Toronto :)

Mojo Javabuggs

I love this image from Stamping Bella's Huggabuggs- Javabuggs; what more could you want but coffee with a good friend?! I am excited because I am leaving hubby at home and going to Toronto tomorrow for a visit & coffee with friends (Monday is shopping at Stamping Bella; I am excited & a little worried about the $$ I will leave there!!)

For this card I played along with this weeks Mojo Monday 82 sketch. Javabuggs is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics. I added some glitter with my atyou spica pens and a jelly roll pen.
The DS paper is from American Crafts; some I have had in my stash for a long time! Because I am not a sentiment girl I added a piece or olive ribbon and 3 soft pink circles which I put on with my Kajinker

copics used on ipodabella

I received a request from Sandy asking what copics I used to colour my image; first I must apologize because it's always my intention to take a picture of the copics used BUT I usually end up cleaning my space before taking my picture which means the copics get put away. I will try to remember to at least list the colours I used.

You will find that I don't always stay in the same colour range & the more I use my copics the more I find you can mix & match

Here are the colours I used on Ipodabella - B04; B05; B06 & blended with B02 - YG03, YG13 - V09, V12 - E000, E00, R02 - E55, E57

Have fun colouring Sandy & thanks for asking :)

Dana

If I listen to my Ipod will I look like this?????

Hope everyone had a fantastic Easter weekend; we spent Saturday in Edmonton with hubby's family but were home in time yesterday to spend the afternoon watching the Masters on TV; so it was a great weekend!!

Over at the Corrosive Challenge Blog yesterday Janet had a sketch challenge which fit perfectly with Ipodabella; seriously if I listened to my Ipod more would my butt look like that?! Maybe I should start logging the hours; but I guess it won't work if I am sitting in my stamp room!!

Ipodabella is stamped with memento ink and coloured with copics. I coloured the trim on her jacket and purse separately and paper pieced them on so the image has more dimension, I also coloured her boots (don't think they're made for walkin'!) with my purple atyou spica pen.

The image is mounted on elegant eggplant and the card base is pacific point. The DS paper is from S.E.I and it's called Bridgeport. I cut the one piece of ds paper (back of the striped piece) because I didn't have the right ribbon and added a prima flower with an olive bella bonbon

I don't usually put sentiments on my cards; don't like to commit, so I paper pierced along the bottom of the card base

Don't forget you have until Thursday to email Em your cards for this weeks Bellariffic Fridays - all entries will be entered in a draw for Bellabuck & who couldn't use those!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

Buzzy SKFYTT

I finally had a chance to play with Jen's SKFYTT from last Saturday - this week has just flown by; maybe it's the nice weather that kept me busy?!

Buzzy Huggabugg needed some lovin' so and he fit perfectly with the sketch. Buzzy is stamped with mementos tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics. I added some stickles to his wings; when I have a large space I glob some on then use a toothpick to make it look even - quick too aside from the drying time! I also added stickles to his antenna.

The DS paper is from My Minds Eye Bloom & Grow - this one from the Grow line. The cb is certainly celery and the DS and image are mounted on So Saffron

Don't forget you have until April 16 to send Em your Bellariffic card - this is the amazing inspiration piece; you have to use at least 1 flower and it has to be a Stamping Bella image

Have a great weekend - it's suppose to be nice here, and the Masters is on TV and the NHL Playoffs start next week (gotta get my pool done!!) so it MUST be spring!!

Let's Flock

I loved this MFT Who's That Girl set, but realized I had neglected it!! The April releases was what clued me in; that doesn't mean I have too many stamps does it?!

Hanging with my Peeps is stamped with Mementos Tuxedo black ink. The bench and background are coloured with Lyras, Primacolours and Minerals spirits; her dress, shoes and the chicks are coloured with Copics. On the chicks I added some yellow flocking from Bo Bunny. The image is layered on bazzill red & SU's Pretty in Pink

The DS paper is from Chatterbox, I love how it has the shimmer already on it! The card base is SU's certainly celery and the red cs is Bazzill.

I added some Primas and a Stamping Bella cotton candy Bonbon

Thanks for stopping by,

Mojo Christmas

I wanted to make sure I got a Christmas card made this week (yep I am still trying to keep it up BUT finding it harder to do!) so I had decided today was the day with the Mojo Sketch, then I saw the Mojo Monday 81 sketch & wondered how the heck I was going to make my Christmas card!!

The image is called Triple Decker Present from Stamping Bella. The Christmas DS paper is from My Minds Eye, and I coloured the presents with the colours from the paper. I like these colours because they aren't too Christmasy - you can only have so many traditional looking cards right?!
The ribbon on the presents is paper pieced and I added some stickles to the little dots and the polka dots.

The sentiment is from Stamping Bella; it's a line sentiment so I masked and stamped it to fit into a circle punch then mounted it on a nesties circle. The cotton candy bonbons are also from Stamping Bella

It's fantastic weather here; certainly starting to see the snow finally melt so it was nice to make a Christmas card with my craft room window open!!

Words that Ring True...

When I checked out Card Positionings Systems challenge this week (CPS110) I wasn't sure how to make my card; then I decided to step outside my comfort box and make a card where the sentiment was the focal point.

The sentiment is from Cornish Heritage Farms Mona Lisa's Moments which I bought at Paper Pastimes in Calgary; they have a fantastic selection of stamps there so I always stop in when I am in the area. The sentiment is stamped on SU's whisper white with Real Red ink and cut with an oval nesties and layered on SU's Bashful Blue & Kiwi Kiss cs which was also cut with oval nesties. I love how the large & small ovals give you such nice layering.

The card base is white cs, layered with Kiwi Kiss and Bashful Blue. The swirl is SU's Baroque Motifs stamped with Kiwi Kiss ink. I added some red Prima flowers from my collection and added some clear Rhinestones, I added Rhinestones to the corner because it looked a little plain - you can never have too much bling!!
Happy Monday - it's actually Spring Like here I just hope it lasts & we are done with the snow; but never say never in Calgary!!

Have a great day & thanks for stopping by

Easter/Spring Challenge

Today's challenge over at The Corrosive Challenge Blog is Spring or Easter cards. Well it was fun to play along today since it's actually spring like here & there isn't any snow in the forecast this week!!

For this challenge I decided to make another Easter card; this is a record number for me (3) now I just have to get them sent out; which always slows me down! I used Taylor's Cupcake Challenge 62 and I used a stamp from Taylored Expressions Sweet Spring set

The image is stamped with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Copics, I added some stickles to the top of the cupcake and Taylor's Tiny Twinkles on the egg (LOVE THESE!!)

The DS paper is from Creative Imagination, the yellow squares DS paper is from Chatterbox. The DS paper and image are layered on SU's Taken with Teal. The image and squares are all cut with nesties.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

Bellariffic Missmatch

It's Bellariffic time again and the I was feeling a little Missmatch!! Ok aren't these Ketto stamps the cutest?! I didn't buy them ALL but the more I see them the more I NEED them all!!

This weeks inspiration was this great jar of buttons; all my kinda colours!

Missmatch Ketto is stamped with Mementos Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with copics.

While colouring Missmatch I decided to make her shoes missmatch too. My friends 4 year old daughter refuses to wear matching socks & if she has the same type of shoes in different colours then she wears missmatched shoes - she is the cutest little fashion statement & I do believe Missmatch Ketto will go to her house!!

I decided I wanted her to be a little edgy so I added the pink steak in her hair. Her skirt is popped up at the bottom of the orange and I added stickles to give her crown & hearts on her skirt & top some glitter.

The Missmatched DS paper is from Tinker Ink - I was happy that I had 2 different patterns with the same colours in. I paper pierced around the edges to make them stand out a little more and added some cotton candy bonbons in the top corner.

"Dare to be Different" so suits Missmatch ketto (really most of the kettos - that's why I love them so much!!) Stamping Bella has fantastic sentiments!!

Make sure you pop over to Bloggabella to see how the rest of the Bella Babes and Sistah's were inspired!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

Aprils not for fools...

Happy April - hopefully April Showers will bring May flowers - of course here in Calgary the saying apparently is April Snow brings May flowers?!!

Here is my calender for this month; because it's suppose to be rainy in April I choose Stamping Bella's Billybootabella.

For this card I paper pieced her dress and umbrella and I remembered I had the Sixxiz embossing plates; I went with the dots for the rain (that must go away...)
The rest of the image is coloured with copics

Because I made these at Christmas time sorry I don't recall all the stuff I used- short & sweet posts

Don't forget you have until 5pm EST to send Emily your Bellariffic Friday card - all those who submit will be entered in a random draw for Bella Bucks - only requirement is to use Stamping Bella images - Have fun!!

Have a great day
