Throwing my Hat in

This is my second post for today please scroll down for my Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge Card 102

I was looking at the MFT guest designer challenge for February and didn't think I was going to play along - then I remembered I had received as a birthday present MFT's  Clearly Sentimental stamps About Love so I thought I might make a card.

Yes this is so not a card!  I remembered I had some frames so I decided to alter one of them.  The contest requires a Valentines theme (love sentiment); 2 card stocks not including the base; I have groovy guava, riding hood red, and sage shadow (a colour I never use!!); 1 design paper - I used  2 from My Minds Eye be loved from last year.  The final requirement was 3 embellishments.  I did a pool with some friends on whether sewing was an embellishment; some said yes some no so I have the flowers made with MFT's rolled flower die-namic; a ghost heart, ghost leaves, and on the sentiment (cut with die-namics framed greetings die) I have two tiny heart rhinestones.

When I finished the project I added one of my favourite pictures of my parents (this is suppose to be a gift for them HOWEVER it looks fabulous on a table in my stamp room!!)  The picture was taken when they were dating over 53 years ago!!  This picture of them makes me smile; how lucky am I that they are still together; they are quite the example to us kids!!

Thanks for stopping by - have a fantastic day!!

Caution - It's Sweet Sunday

Happy Sunday - I hope you all had a great weekend!  Here it's a winter wonderland again - on Thursday it was +12.9C (a record high; just over 55F) and by Friday night it was a blowing white out with a temp of -15C  (5F) and -23C with the windchill (-9 F) so I'm staying home as much as possible!

Karen has another fantastic sketch for us this week - I honestly don't know how she comes up with them all the time; but I'm so happy she does!!

For my Sweet Sunday Sketch card (SSSC102) I decided to go digi and use on of Bugaboos Stamps "Stella's".  I love this girl and her cheekiness!!  Stella Caution is printed onto cream card stock and coloured with copics and pencils for some shading.  The yield sign and sentiment (which comes with the image) are both popped up.  I used an atyou spica pen on the sign and Stella's hard hat.

Please hop over to the rest of the Sunday Sketch Stampers blogs to see their creations with the sketch & remember to link you card on Karen's blog

Thanks for stopping by & have a fantastic day - I'm hoping to go & see Black Swan if my friend can get out of her driveway!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENDY!!

Welcome to our blog hop for the fabulous Wendy Bond!!  Today's her birthday and what a great way to celebrate!  If you came here from Karen Motz's blog you are on the right path, if not please hop over to the start on her blog.  She also has the master list of all everyone wanting to play along

When I went to make Wendy's card I knew MFT's Who's that Girl? Meet Me at the Cafe would be perfect!  We try to together for dinner (and wine) and the last time we had dinner  an associate of my hubby's was there and sent over a bottle of wine - he's my favourite!!  Sadly last night we only had time to meet for a coffee but I gave her a bottle of wine (we both love our Italian red wine!!) for her birthday today!

The image is stamped with mementos ink and I paper pieced their outfits and the bottle of wine.  The ds paper is MME fine and dandy true blue.  I popped the awning over their heads.  The scallops are MFT's die-namic jumbo scallops die.

The next stop on the hop is the amazingly talented and brilliant Jodi Collins - enjoy the hop Wendy and have a great birthday!!

A Late Sketch

Well my goal was to play along with MFTWSC3 but I was late this week - better late then never right?!

By playing along with the MFT challenges I am finally inking up my stamps (I still have a big stack to go!)  This week I decided to get a Christmas card done; actually I started  making 2 again to hopefully have a better dent in my cards this December! MFT's Pure Innocence Snow Adorable is stamped withe mementos ink and coloured with copics.  I coloured and paper pieced his toque and scarf; which is layered on his paper pieced sweater.  The DS paper is basic greys Oliver.  I added used MFT's snowflake die-namics and a brad.

Tomorrow I am all over the MFTWSC - I won't be late this week!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANN!!

This is my second post today - please scroll down for today's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge Post (SSSC101)

We're having a blog hop for Ann Kranitz's birthday - if you came her from Wendy Jordan's blog you are on the right path; if not please hop over to the start at Karen Motz's blog.

I met Ann last fall when I was at  BFF Karen's and we drove to New York (you're not suppose to pronounce the "r" right Ann?!) to see Jodi and Ann.  OMG it was so much fun - I've can't remember the last time I laughed so hard!  I'm sure they thought we were crazy in the restaurant.  All I can say is both Ann & Jodi have strong New York accents - so this Canadian girl was laughing and trying to figure out what they were saying!  A few times Karen & I were totally confused - can't wait until the next time we all get together!!

For my card I played along again with todays Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC101) but flipped the sketch.  I chose one of MFT's sweet PI Girls Birthday Princess and stamped her with mementos ink.  I coloured the image with copics, shaded with caran d'ashe pencils and paper pieced her dress and party crown.  For the icing on the cake I used dimensional pearls in espresso.  The ds paper is October Afternoons fly a kite.

Ann I hope you have a fantastic birthday - wishing you the very best!! Now hop over to Kandi Phillips blog Krafty Kandi!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Thrilling Sweet Sunday

I am so excited to be a part of Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Stampers team  - when she asked me I was beyond thrilled; I love Karen's style and her sketches are fantastic!

For my Sweet Sunday card (SSSC101); you'll find the sketch on Karen Giron's blog The Sweetest Thing, I decided to ink up an image that reflected my mood (sadly not my flexibility!!) Fabby from Stamping Bella is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics.  I paper pieced her skirt and popped the bottom portion up.  The ds paper is My Minds Eye bloom & grow which is stitched on all the layers.

Please hop over and see the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers creations and I hope you can play along with this weeks sketch.

Thanks again Karen for inviting me to join these fabulous stampers!!

Freestylin'

Happy Friday!!  This weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is Free Form so I searched for a sketch to make my card (sad I know; I've become sketch co-dependent!!)  I picked Jen's SKFYTT for the month of January as my starting point.

I decided to ink up on of my bittyblooms from Stamping Bella - Hydrangea.  The image is stamped onto bella's bestest paper with mementos ink and coloured with copics.  I paper pieced the flower on her hat and for the centre of the flower I used a purple atyou spica pen.  The ds paper is basic greys Kioshi.  I used a prima flower and sprayed it with Pearl Tattered Angels and added a brad - I re-organized and did a little de-clutter yesterday and found the brads!  Now that things are more "visible" I hope I can use some of my stash!

The next Bellariffic Friday is FEB 4 - we're taking next week off because Em will be having fun at CHA (if you're there make sure you pop by to say HI I know she'll have the new rubbah!!)
Feb 4 theme is VALENTINES - email your cards before Feb 3 to Em to be included and you could win some bellabucks.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes & sistah's creations and on TUESDAY Em has a new release (have you seen the peeks this week?!?!)  I feel a big rubbah order coming!

Sweet Mavis

Hope you are all having a great week - it's warmed up here (-5C is warmed up!) and they say we will be cracking 0 this weekend!!

Today I was able to play along with Karen G's Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC100).  I need a birthday card for a friend in Toronto, and she is a cat person (naturally her cats always came to see me when I was at her house because I'm allergic!!) so I inked up one of Stamping Bella's sweet Mavis images by Christy Croll.  Speaking of sweet images have you seen the sneak peek new images over on Bloggabella?!

Mavis has a Daisy is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with caran d'ashe pencils (I LOVE these pencils!!)  I paper pieced her dress and the flowers.  In the centre of the flowers I used clear rhinestones which I coloured with copics.  The DS paper is basic greys Marjolaine.

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is FREE FORM so any Stamping Bella image works - email your card to Em by Thursday to be included and you could win some Bella Bucks (which will come in handy based on the sneak peeks!!)

Thanks so much for stopping by - have a great day

Time Too...

Play along with MFTWSC2!!  I am loving the sketch challenges by MFT over on SCS (MFTWSC2) - each week another fabulous sketch to encourage me to use my MFT stamps!!

This week I inked up one of my a la mode stamps - Take Time.  The image is stamped with mementos ink onto neenah crest white paper and coloured with copics.  On the face of the clock I used a clear glaze pen, and for the rest of the clock I used a yellow atyou spica pen.  I used an atyou spica pen for her shoes as well.  The ds paper is MME fine and dandy true blue and the rhinestones are from MME.

It's still cold here but they claim we will be above zero by mid-week; that will be a temp change of over 20 degrees!!  I'll believe it when I see it!!

Thanks for stopping by

Bellariffic Fridays are back

but I'm a little late!!  I woke early today realizing that I forgot to do my post, but it's really cold here (-23 c /- 10F) so I wasn't getting up until the heat had been on awhile!!  Now with a coffee in hand, watching it snow outside (isn't it too cold to snow?!) I'm ready to go!

This weeks theme was a sketch to get us all going again!  For my card I decided to get a Christmas card made for this week and inked up Glideabella is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest cream paper and coloured with caran d'ashe pencils and mineral spirits.  I added some glitter to the edges of the trim.   The ds paper is cosmo cricket mitten weather (which is quite fitting for today!)  I stitched around all the layers and found some ribbon in my stash.

Make sure you stop by Bloggabella today to see the rest of the babes creations & what the sistahs sent in to Em.   Next week's theme is FREE FORM so email Em your cards by Thursday to be included & you could win some bella bucks!!!

I used Karen G's Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC99) and stamped Zoe is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics.  I then cut the image out and mounted it onto another piece of bella's bestest paper cut a nesties. I used a red atyou spica pen on the heart and for the rhinestones I coloured clear rhinestones with a copic.  The ds paper is my minds eye's fine and dandy tickled pink.

Thanks so much for stopping by - see you Friday for Bellariffic Fridays (did you see Em has a sneak peek of her January release on Bloggabella!!)

Being Cute

I am so excited that MFT's Wednesday Stamp Club is going to be sketches this year because I love sketches and this will be perfect incentive for me to ink up my neglected MFT stamps ESPECIALLY the sweet Pure Innocence girls!

I managed to play along with this weeks sketch (MFTWSC1) was perfect for MFT's Pure Innocence Being Cute is What I Do.  The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics.  The ds paper is crate papers restoration.  I added some tiny rhinestones along the border along the top (which I meant to pop up but forgot!) and I finally used my die-namics rolled flower die and loved it!  I also took Kim's tutorial advice and sprayed some tattered angels spring rain.  I also used kraft so I'm playing along with the Spotted Chicks Krafty Thursday 45!

Thanks so much for stopping by - I hope you have a great day, it's really cold here so I am staying bundled in my house today, but I know I can't stay in all week...

Take Two....

So I spent Saturday afternoon working on a card with the intention of posting it ASAP.  I was happy to be in my stamp room since the weather outside was crappy (snowing horizontally because of the winds) and hubby was away so made myself  a cup of tea and started colouring  - it was a perfect afternoon UNTIL....  I went to add an embellishment to my card (product shall remain nameless since it no longer has a place here) and squeezed the tube, nothing.  Squeezed a little harder and wham the entire top came off - I had the stuff EVERYWHERE!!!  Those of you who know me know I had a wee tantrum - threw out the image &  the produce & said that's it not colouring it again.  Well later on after watching a movie I came back and decided the paper was picked out, the markers were still on my desk lets give it another whirl....

I stamped Kissy by Mo Manning from Stamping Bella onto  bella's bestest paper and coloured her with copics.  For the shading I used prisma pencils (those recommended by Paula & Linda- when they speak I listen!!)  I added some glamour dust glitter on her skirt and for the the flowers I used some mermaid stickles.  In the centre of the large flowers I used some black enamel accents.  The ds paper is basic greys Kioshi and I used this weeks Sweet Stop sketch (SSS90)

Don't forget this weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge is a sketch - email your cards to Em by Thursday to be included and you could win Bella Bucks!!

Thanks for stopping by - have a great Sunday

Back in the Groove

Well the holidays are over and hubby's back at work so I have my house to myself again!  I love having hubby around BUT he can't stay home so we are out and about all the time which means no stamping time - I can hardly wait until spring hits so he can golf!!

Today I have a Christmas card (yes I'm already starting on 2011 cards) to share with you.  I wanted to play along with Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch (SSSC98) and I wanted to ink up one of my new stamps - Lulu's snowman.  The image is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics.  For the falling snow I used liquid dimension and glitter.  For the trim on the scarves and hat I used white liquid applique and heated it to give it the look of fluff. The ds paper is basic grey's eskimo kisses.

Next Friday (Jan 14) we are back with Bellariffic Fridays, and it's a sketch!!!  Email Em (emily@stampingbella.com) by Thursday Jan 13 to be included - you could win Bella bucks & something tells me you might want them for this month!!

Thanks for stopping by

Leslie don't look if you want to be surprised....

Happy New Year!!  I hope you all had a great New Years eve - ours was LATE!!  We had friends for dinner & the last of the crew left at 2am so by the time I straightened up a bit it was 3:30 when I hit the bed; I am feeling it today!!  I've had a great holidays - we flew to BC to spend the Christmas with my family; we haven't been there since 2001!!  Then when we came home I was catching up with friends who were in town & getting ready for last night - I am TIRED today!!

Yes, I'm making my calendar this year, and yes I'm late - I have January done & as soon as February is done I will pop it in the mail - my Mom was asking where it was when I was there!

I used Taylored Expressions 6x6 calendar again this year, but my calendar is only 5x5 to fit on the stand I made last year.  This year I'm paper piecing my images onto the calendar to give me more choices & all the images are little girls (yes a theme this year!!)

For January I inked up MFT's PI girl Flurry of Love (which must be out of stock) I thought this was perfect for January since I'm sure we will be getting some storms this month!  The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics.  On her scarf I used atyou spica pens and for the fur on her boots & toque I used fluff

Thanks so much for stopping by - have a wonderful day & Happy New Years!!
