Reach for the Stars....

Happy Friday this weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme was back to school.  I always find this challenge difficult because I don't have kids so I don't "need" a back to school themed card.  It took me a long time to pick an image that I felt could work with the theme.

Mabel is Reaching for the Stars is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cardstock and coloured with copics.  The stars are coloured with copics, then I added stardust stickles, then I used glossy effect on them.  The sentiment is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest paper and both the sentiment and MFT razzle berry cardstock are cut out with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax die-namics.  The ribbon is MFT's razzle berry and the button is MFT's sno cone.

Next weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is a sketch - email your card to Emily by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella and you can win some bella bucks.

More Thanks....

This summer hubby has had some amazing opportunities through his work - he went to the Euro Cup in July and then he went to the Olympics in London in August!  He works hard but he does get some pretty cool business trips too!

So he needed a few thank you cards for the for the Olympic trip.  I like how the Euro Cup Thanks turned out but the images in MFT's All Star Dies didn't work for the events he went to.  What to do?!

I decided to incorporate the Olympic rings into my card.  I first tried cutting then out using nesties but didn't like how they looked.  I didn't have the simple circle die in the size I wanted so as I sat there drinking my Perrier it hit me - the lid from the Perrier bottle was the perfect size!  I sanded off the bumps from when you open it and gave it a try.  You have to be very careful as it shifts easily smudging the circles but after a few tries it worked.

The inks are memento tuxedo black, Distress inks peeled paint, faded jeans, mustard seed, and barn door.  For the thank you I used MFT's By the Letter die-namics.  I used the British Team colours since the games were in London and added some angled ribbon because it needed a little something.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like my Perrier inspired card!!

Minty Sweet Sunday

Happy Sunday - today I'm back with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch 166.  I can say I didn't alter this one at all!!

For my card I decided to make a Christmas card.  I inked up Stamping Bella's Minty Coffee with memento tuxedo black ink and stamped the image onto bella's bestest card stock.  The image is coloured with copies.  On the candy cane I used a lipstick red atyou spica pen and a clear glaze pen.  The ds paper is Memory Box Yuletide.  For the banner I used MFT's Banner Day die -namics and Banner day Alphabet

Keep Calm....

Happy Friday - todays Bellariffic Fridays theme is a sketch.  For mine I inked up Stamping Bella's Flynn Needs a Cupcake.

Flynn is stamped with mementos tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cream card stock.  I coloured Flynn with copics.  I paper pieced her dress and hairband with EP's So Happy card stock.  I then coloured and paper pieced the cupcake and scallops on her dress.  On her shoes I used a clear glaze pen.  The shading around Flynn is done with Spun Sugar distress ink.

I decorated the inside of my card - something I'm trying to do more and more.  I kept it simple and just stamped the image with versamark ink

Getting Funky

Getting funky with some Funky Barcodes from Stamping Bella!  I wanted to make sure I played along with Jen's SKFYTT for August.  I love her sketches but it seems some months get away from me.

For my card I chose Em' Funky Barcodes from Stamping Bella.  I stamped the image with versamark ink onto bella's bestest cs then embossed it with black embossing powder.  I then distressed around the image with Tattered Rose ink.  The sentiment is stamped with mementos tuxedo black ink onto ds paper then cut free hand and pieced on. The ds paper is Basic Greys What's UP.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Thanks....

My husband needed some thank you cards from a trip to the Euro Cup this summer, and I have been a little slow at getting them made.  Today was the day to get them done and when I saw MFT's Guest design contest for Sept (MFTGUESTDT0912) the sketch was perfect!

To work with my card I flipped the sketch.

I started with a piece of cream cardstock and distressed it with scattered straw. The Thanks is cut with MFT's die-namics By the Letter.  The soccer ball is from MFT's die-namics All-Star Dies.  I cut the ball out twice then snipped the one to layer the patches on the ball.  The tab is MFT's die-namic File Tab.  The design paper is Echo Parks A Boys Life

I can't remember the last time I made a non-stamping card - but it was a lot of fun I do love MFT's die-namics!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

Happy BIrthday

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme was to make a Birthday card, which was perfect since I am always needing them!

For my card I took a non birthday image and made it into my birthday card.  I have a wonder girlfriend in Toronto whose birthday was yesterday and Uptown Girl Pippa loves to Plant was perfect for her.  When we were neighbours she used to help me plant my garden and she loved doing it.  I used to drive her crazy because I would wait until the end of May to plant, which is necessary in Calgary but wasn't in Toronto

Pippa is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white cs and coloured with both copics and pencils with gamsol.  The shading around the image is done with pencils and gamsol (no distress inks this time!)  I added some glitter around the image and in the centre of all the flowers I used atyou spica pens.  The ds paper for her apron, gloves, bandana and background is MME's Indie Chic ginger.  The sentiment is from Stamping bella's Ramona Loves Cake.

On the inside of the card I used the sentiment that came with the stamp.  The flower on the inside is MFT's flower & leaf trio die-namics.

Don't forget to stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes and sistahs Birthday creations.  Next week is Sketch week.  Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on the Bloggabella Bellariffic Fridays and you could win some bella bucks

A BFF Sweet Sunday

I'm back this week with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch 165.  This one had me stumped for awhile; there are a lot of layers.  Here's the sketch

I wanted to make a card for my BFF so I inked up a new Uptown Girls image from Stamping Bella - Belinda and Bernadette Bench Buddies.

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white cs and coloured with copics.  For the grass I used pencils and peeled paint distress ink.  For the sky I used tumbled glass distress ink.  The ds paper is EP's So Happy Together.  To work with my image I changed my card to a square.  The flower is MFT's Flower and leaf trio die-namics.

I love the sentiment that comes with this image so I decorated the inside of my card using the same banner theme

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stamper and our Guest stamper.  I hope you can play along with us this week- and remember to link your card to Karen's blog for a chance to be a Sweet Sunday Guest stamper!

Birthday Wishes

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme was a sketch - I do love a good sketch!  I needed a birthday card so with a sketch & theme already picked this card came together super quick (well once I chose the paper, lets be honest it takes time to go through all the paper packs!)

For my card I inked up Stamping Bella's Uptown Girl Ava Love to Celebrate.  The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cs and coloured with copics.  I paper pieced her dress (shocking I know!)  The ds paper I used is EP's So Happy Together.  The sentiment is from another Stamping Bella image - Ramona Loves Cake.  On the cake I used a yellow atyou spica pen to add the glitter on the cake.  The flowers are MFT's die-namics flower and leaf trio.  The rhinestone centres are clear rhinestones that I coloured with copics to match my paper.  The shading around the image is done with tumbled glass distress ink and a sponge.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes and sistah's creations and remember to leave a comment for Em for a chance to win some bella bucks.  Next weeks theme is Birthday Wishes - email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on the Bellariffic Friday Blog roll!

Climb On.....

Today I have another card with one of the new images from Stamping Bella's  new line Doll Doll Gift stamps by Rheea

I started with a craft tag and sponged it with spun sugar and scattered straw distress inks. I then sprayed the tag with pearl tattered angels spray.  I then stamped Climb on by Rheea with walnut stain distress ink onto the tag and embossed the image with clear embossing powder.  For the sentiment I used the portion of the tag I cut off and the walnut distress ink but didn't emboss the sentiment.  The ds paper is Cart Bella's beautiful moments.

I'll be back Friday with this weeks Bellariffic Fridays card - a sketch & you know I love sketches!  You still have time to play along just email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella

Sum Sum Summertime.....

Happy Friday - this weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme was to ink up a Stamping Bella image that makes you think of summer.

I decided to ink up Uptown Girl Isabelle loves her Ice Cream.

The image is stamped with mementos tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cs and coloured with copics.  I paper pieced the ice cream so it would go outside the panel.  On the ice cream I used a clear atyou spica pen so it melting & shiny.  The grass is coloured with pencils and gamsol.  For the shading around the image distress ink in antique linen and tumbled glass.  The ds paper American Crafts Neopolitan.
