Bellariffic Lollipop

Happy Black Friday to all of you in the States, if you are going shopping I wish you great success - from what I see on the news it looks crazy; not sure I would be going out!

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge was a sketch by moi :) I chose one of the sweet new Lollipops for my card. Ella Lollipop is stamped with mementos ink onto Bella's Bestest Cream paper and coloured with copics. I cut her with the same size nesties as the brown underlay, and just trimmed off where the embossing line is; I do this quite often when I don't want a large border between my layers. I added some glamour dust glitter to the polka dots on her bow and dress.

The DS paper is from Fancy Pant's delight line. I added some chocolate ribbon and some bella's baubles. I didn't have the right colour in the cranberry/red so I coloured clear baubles. It worked perfectly but was a little messy and I of course kept dropping the bauble!

Make sure you pop by Bloggabella today to see all the other cards & remember to check out all the birthday bash stuff on Splitcoast

Have a great day

Sweet Flopsey

I wanted to make a card to wish everyone in the USA a very Happy Thanksgiving so I inked up Sweetie Pie Flopsey because you need pie after a big turkey dinner!

I used Mercy's sketch from this week (MTSC49)but flipped it around to work with my image. Flopsey is stamped with mementos ink & coloured with lyra pencils & prisma colour pencils using odorless mineral spirits. The pie is coloured with copics and I added a clear glaze on with my glaze pen. I paper pieced the pan and chefs hat.

The paper is from my Sept Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions, the ds paper in the package is Bo Bunny's Kitchen Spice. The punch is from EK success called Parisian which I ordered from Stamping Bella and I paper pierced along the edges.
I popped up the brown/rust piece then popped Flosey as well to give lots of dimension to the card.

Enjoy time with your families, eat lots of turkey; we canucks did that last month & are now getting ready for the Grey Cup this weekend (our Super Bowl) For those of you going shopping on Black Friday - good luck!!

Sweet n Sassy Christmas

I'm still plucking away at my Christmas cards; I am happy to say I only need to make about another 20 and I am done! Funny it's been warm here in Calgary & no snow so everyone is getting their Christmas lights up; last night when I drove home it seemed like most of the neighbourhood has their lights on - makes it easy to find my house, it's the one without!!

I bought this image last year when it was released from MFT, this is how I feel just before Christmas and I don't even have kids!! I have this thing about baking but we really don't eat it so this year I am cutting back (at least that's what I say today!)

WTG Merry Christmas is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. I added pink and blue stickles to the tree and used pink and red smooch to the packages. The DS paper is Basic Greys Eskimo Kisses. This weeks Sweet n Sassy's challenge (SSS31) was a sketch with a twist - sewing so I stitched around my pink base which I embossed with Quickutz snowflakes. I also stitched along the patterned strip. I added some pink rhinestones to the snowflake and the patterned strips which I cut with my word window punch.

I stamped the sentiment on the inside of the card and coloured it with copics, I added clear glaze to the glass.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Leslie & Lorie...

When the new release came out I knew I HAD to have Leslie & Lorie Lulu, they are just too sweet!

I used this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC45) for my inspiration. I stamped the image on Bella's Bestest Cream paper and coloured the image with copics. The DS paper is Basic Greys Indian Summer 6x6 paper. I cut the image with nesties and the border is from Martha Stewart's Scallop Dot border punch. I added stickles to the polka dots, lemon yellow liquid pearl to the fringe on the dress, and used my black glaze pen on their hair.

Bella Bellariffic

This weeks Bellariffic Friday challenge was anything BELLA! It was fun to go back through my Bella's and deciding on which one to ink up.

I knew I wanted to use some new paper I had from Crate paper's Bliss collection and I thought DaisyBella would be perfect. I stamped her onto bella's bestest paper and coloured her with copics. I added some stickles to the flower on her shirt & used atyou spica pens on her hairband. The flower is coloured and popped up and I added a bella bonbon to the centre. I stitched the ds paper and added some flowers using my kajinker.

Make sure you stop by Bloggabella to see all the beautiful Bellas and remember to leave a comment to win some bella bucks!

Have a great Friday

Pure Sweetness...

I was so excited when I went to the mailbox Tuesday and mixed in with all the junk (bills) was my order from MFT!! Like everyone else I am very impatient when I am waiting for my new stamps and it takes a little longer for them to make their way to Canada!

I wanted to play along with Mercy's sketch this week (MTSC48) so I inked up Snow Day and coloured her with copics. I was smart & made 6 cards to add to my Christmas stash; I find doing 6 an easy number because you can add details to them and it's not overwhelming (hopefully I remember that for next year!). On her pocket and buttons I used my clear glaze pen, and added some clear stickles to the pom poms on her toque (eh!). For the snow I used liquid applique and utra fine glitter.

The card is 9x4 so for my embossed chocolate chip pieces I ran them through the big shot 2x and just matched up the edges; it was easier then I thought. I used Quickutz snowflakes embossing folder. The DS paper is from Bo Bunny's This the Season line which I paper pieced. I added some red ribbon and used my Martha Stewart snowflake punch and finish it with a crystal bella bonbon.

Thanks Mercy for another inspiring sketch!

Have a great day -

Digi Birthday Wishes

I finally entered the world of digital stamps this week, I know most of you have been enjoying them for a long time what can I say I'm a little slow at jumping on these great images.

I ordered this sweet Birthday Ian from the Greeting Farm and printed it onto
Neenah paper. I coloured him with copics and used my yellow and clear atyou spica pen on the presents bows and my glaze pen on the paper so the wrapping is shiney in person.

For my inspiration I used this weeks Sweet n Sassy sketch over on The Sweet Stop blog (SSS30). I also played along with the Corrosive Challenge (CCBJ38) this week which was to emboss anything - I used Cuttlebugs Spots & Dots on my base cs. The paper is all from Taylored Expressions Places You Will Go Key Ingredients kit.
Thanks for stopping by - have a fantastic day

Funky Dandelion

My hubby needed a sympathy card for a friend; I always find these cards hard to make but I am really pleased how Stamping Bella's Funky Dandelions worked for this card.

I intended on using TESC91 as my sketch, but my image was bigger then it should have been so I altered the sketch a fair bit. I grabbed some markers (cameo coral, so saffron & sage shadow) to ink up the dandelion, to blend the 2 colours together I sponged on some saffron ink. Once the images were stamped I cut them out with nesties and added some glamour dust glitter.

The cb is ivory layered with prima paper and the ds paper is from cosmo crickets earth love collection. I paper pierced around the edges and added the yellow ribbon and bow. I put the sentiment inside the card.

This weeks Bellariffic Friday challenge is anything bella; so ink up one of you bella girls and send your card to Em (emily@stampingbella.com) midnight Thursday in order to be showcased & have a chance to win bella bucks!

Thanks for stopping by & have a fantastic day

Happy Birthday NANCY!!

Welcome to our birthday blog hop for Nancy! I met Nancy when I was still living in Toronto and she was teaching at a scrapbooking store; I loved her classes she inspired me so much! THEN Nancy had an SU party & I was hooked; yep this whole slippery slope started with her party!

Now Nancy creates amazing blog banners for charity and is the designer for Taylored Expressions Whimsical Wishes line, plus she has the most amazing blog creations on her blog Card Worthy!

For her birthday card I chose one of her Whimsical Wishes lines "For the Love of Cupcakes" and the sentiment is from Whimsical Wishes "Fresh Flowers". I used Karen G. Sweet Sunday sketch (SSSC44) for my layout. The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. I paper pieced the base of the cupcake with DS paper and the top is prima paper that I added some Mermaid Glitz Stickles. The paper is from my Sept Key Ingredients Kit from Taylored Expressions. On the chipboard flowers I used Walnut Glimmer Mist
and buttons.

Now make sure you stop by and wish Nancy a very Happy Birthday and hop along and see all the amazing birthday wishes!
Thanks for stopping by & Happy Birthday Nancy!!

Wild Card Bellariffic

This weeks Bellariffic Friday was "wild card" meaning anything goes!! At first I wasn't sure how I was going to pick from my overflowing bindahs, but then I remembered I need a birthday card for a girlfriend next week. I chose Addy 'tude oves her 'tinis because my friend is going a wine/liquor tasting event on her birthday!

Mercy's sketch was my starting point again this week (MTSC47) and Addy 'tude is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics. I added some lemon yellow liquid pearl to the center of the flowers, crystal glaze on her glasses, crystal stickles in the 'tini glasses and clear glaze pen on the seat.

The ds paper is from my stash; I honestly don't know where or when I bought it, it's a 6x6 book from black market paper called Rhythm. I stitched along the ds paper and rose red & along the edges of the ribbon. I added some prima flowers and a pink crackle dot from Stamping Bella

I'm a little late posting today because it was date night last night & I was too tired when I got home to do my post; we went & saw Buckcherry & KISS & it was FANTASTIC!! Make sure you stop by Bloggabella to see all the amazing Wild Cards this week!

A Snowball Story...

I was counting my Christmas cards - I only have 75 (including 15 that are 1/2 made) so I have about another 30 to go! When I finished this card tonight I wished I made more then 6, although I am not sure how mail friendly they are they are pretty thick!

I saw this great challenge on Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C10) this week to make an easel card, which I have never done so I wanted to try (click here for the instructions). I used Elzybell's Mischievous and a "made a snowball" as my stamps & I was really happy with how it turned out. The directions are to add a brad or button to hold the card in place, but my bases are 130lb cardstock so I didn't need to add anything & it took away from the "made a snowball" story.

Mischievous is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics, I added some purple Taylor's Tiny Twinkles for the buttons on her coat. For the snowballs and snow on the ground I used liquid applique and ultra fine glitter & just let it dry, for the snow falling I used my quickie glue pen and the same glitter. The DS paper is from Fancy Pants Arctic Chill collection called Snowball

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are closer to finishing your Christmas cards then I am!!

Welcome back bug...

Back in March our favourite restaurant in Calgary suffered damage from a fire in the business next door to them and we have been waiting patiently (and impatiently) for them to re-open and today was the day! As soon as we found out we booked ourselves in tonight & I wanted to make a card to let then know how much we missed - we've been going for years and even when we were living out east it was our first stop in Calgary!

I saw this great sketch from Just us Girls (JUGS6) on Wendy's blog this weekend and knew it was the perfect layout for my card. I stamped Cheffa Huggabugg, but because it's an Italian Restaurant I masked the cake on the plate when I stamped the image so I could draw in pasta. The image is stamped on bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics. The ds paper is from Bo Bunny's Kitchen Sink line (how perfect is that?!) I paper pierced around the edges and added some ribbon and buttons. I didn't have a welcome back stamp so I just printed it off the computer and cut it out with nesties ovals. I added some glamour dust glitter to his wings and smooched it so it was subtle

Dinner was absolutely FANTASTIC; the fire happened when Karen was here in March on the morning we were suppose to go so now she can come back & visit & go to my favourite little spot!

Thanks for stopping by - this weeks bellariffic challenge is "wild card" meaning anything Stamping Bella goes! I thought this was a fantastic idea until I realized now I have to go through my overstuffed bindah(s) and pick an image with no direction; that could take awhile! Remember to email your cards to Em (emily@stampingbella.com) before midnight Thursday

Wintery Bellariffic

This weeks Bellariffic Friday challenge was Christmas/Winter cards, perfect I need to get some Christmas cards done!!

I chose Snowy House (hubby is hoping we have a snowy house soon!) because I don't send out Christmas cards to everyone, some get holiday wishes cards. The image is stamped on Bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics. I added some clear glaze to the window (sorry didn't show in the picture) and for the roof I used liquid applique with glitter & heat set it, the ground is glitter with glue (didn't want it to bubble). For the lights on the house & tree I added some red stickles and on the wreath I used a red atyou spica pen

The sentiment is from stamping bella, and the ds paper is from imaginisce and I sewed around the edges. This is a mass production card; I have 30 in the works & have to finish them all this weekend (that's the plan anyways!) I added some buttons in the corner, but I'm not sure if all will get them, some cards have a long journey so I think the less bulk the better!

If you haven't stopped by Bloggabella yet make sure you do to see all the amazing wintery cards and remember if you leave a comment you can win bella bucks!!

Thanks for stopping by

STELLA Birthday Wish

Wendy emailed me this week to see if I wanted to join in a little blog hop with the Loonie Stampers & friends to wish Charlene a Happy Birthday - I was thrilled to join in! When I moved to Calgary last year I was a little bummed because I didn't know anyone who stamped here, then Em went on the cruise last year & sent me an email with 2 girls from Calgary!!! You can imagine my excitement when I met Char & Wendy - so thanks Em!!

For my card I used Mercy's sketch (MTSC46) from this week and STELLA's cupcake which I stamped with mementos ink and coloured her with copics. I added some micro fine glitter to the icing, clear glaze pen to the bottom of the cupcake and on her crown & wand I used liquid pearl in lemon yellow. I added a cotton candy bonbon for the top of the cupcake. The ds paper is from Bo Bunny's Kitchen Spice line and I added some chocolate buttons to the corner
Now here's the Loonies Stampers - Char, Dee, Regan, Wendy, Jewels, Maria

Don't forget to check out all the others Friends creations for Char - Sue, Pam, Char, Step, Becky, Carly, Jessica, Michelle, Nancy, Christie, Krissy, and Ashley

Remember today is Bellariffic Friday over at Bloggabella - stop by to see the amazing Winter creations & leave a comment to win Bella Bucks!

Finding my Mojo

I started this card last night before dinner; with the intent of finishing it and posting it right away, but somehow after dinner I found myself on the couch watching "Battle of the Blades", "Cake Boss" (love that show!) and DWTS - what did I ever do before time shifting?! Not the most productive evening but certainly relaxing! This morning I got my coffee and went back to finish up sweet Agnes Ketto.

It's been some time since I inked up a Ketto; Stamping Bella has too many sweet images that some seem to get neglected! I chose this weeks Mojo (MOJO111) sketch as my inspiration. Agnes Ketto is stamped with Memento's ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics. I added some Micro fine glitter to her wings and used my lavender atyou spica pen on the dots along the flowers and skirt. I double stamped the skirt and cut up and popped the orange layer so it looks like it's flowing.

The cb is white, layered with elegant eggplant and celery cs; the ds paper is from Little Yellow Bicycles Zinna line. I added some celery ribbon and prima flowers. I didn't have the right shade of yellow so I sprayed a white flower with Jack O'Lantern Glimmer mist & added a bella bon bon to the center of the flower.

This weeks Bellariffic Friday's theme is Christmas - make sure you email your cards to Em by midnight Thursday!!

Have a great day -

November Grumps....

When I was making my calendar I didn't know what to use for November, I didn't want to use a winter scene because I am being optimistic that we won't be covered in the white stuff - so what to do...
Then I started thinking November means the start of shorter days, functions & Christmas parties so Grumpabella seemed fitting!

Hopefully I am wrong & November will be a fantastic month (fingers crossed!!)

Have a great day

Dana
