Happy Birthday Jodi!!!

Welcome to our blog hop to celebrate Jodi's (Stamping a Latte) birthday!!  If you came from Denise Marzec's  blog (The Paper Landscaper) you are on the right path; if not please hop over to Karen's blog (Paper Playhouse) to the start and master list!!

I have loved Jodi's cards forever and stalked her blog, then worked up the nerve to start commenting on her blog THEN when I was visiting Karen in October I met Jodi!!!  OMG she is as fantastic as I imagined & we laughed SO HARD - really her NY accent was killing me!!!

For her card I used Mercy's sketch from last week (MTSC105) and inked up MFT's a la modes - Birthday Girl.  I coloured the image with copics and paper pieced the wrapping on the cupcake.  For the icing I used dimensional pearl in espresso and spread it around to look like icing.  The ds paper is My Minds Eye's fine & dandy tickled pink.

Next on the stop is Taylor (Taylored Expressions) - enjoy the rest of the hop & Happy Birthday Jodi!!

Bring on the Bling

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and for all of you Canadians good luck with your Boxing Day Shopping!!  Today I have my final card as a guest designer for the Corrosive Challenge blog.  Today's challenge was bling.

I found an sketch from Mercy on my desk (MTSC103), how I will miss her sketches in the new year!  I inked up one of my Lulu's from Stamping Bella - Emma Lulu onto bella's bestest paper and coloured her with copics.  I added some black micro fine glitter to the polka dots on her dress and used a red atyou spica pen on the red polka dots on the band.  The ds paper is cosmo crickets circa 1934 layered on black cs and riding hood red.  I added rhinestones along the edge of the border punch and in the centre of the large flowers.

I hope everyone is enjoying time with your friends and family -

Last Holiday Wishes

Can you believe I found an image I hadn't posted yet?!  I think I was so concerned about getting my 100+ cards out on time I forgot to blog it but I'm happy to show this cutie so close to Christmas!!

This is the final image from OCL's Penguin Fun - I loved this set!!  The images are so cute and they were perfect to send to hubby's contacts (nothing too cute can be sent to business contacts!!)  The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics.  I decided to paper piece his hat, I love the look but when you are mass producing paper piecing is not the quickest way to go!!  The ds paper is basic grey's Oliver and I embossed the cs with cuttlebugs snowflakes - it's my favourite holiday one!

With all that life has going on right now I don't think I'll be back until after Christmas so Happy Holidays to everyone - enjoy time with friends and family & I'll see you on the 26th with my Corrosive Challenge card!!

Merry Christmas

Non Traditional Card

I'm back today with another Corrosive Challenge blog card - a non traditional Christmas card.

I decided to use MFT's PI girl Something Special Just for You.  I stamped the image with mementos ink and coloured her with copics.  I paper pieced her dress, present (and arm otherwise it would look odd!) and her Christmas cracker hat.  I remember there was always at least one of them that came out two coloured and that person was cool (as cool as you can be wearing the paper hats around the dinner table!)  Now there are fancy Christmas crackers, but I'm still partial to the ones with the bad jokes and prizes!!  I used a glaze pen on the ribbon and the hat because those hats were always kind of shiny.  The sentiment is from MFT - a holiday set I received with the October VIP set.  The ds paper is cosmo crickets mitten weather.

Please stop by the Corrosive Challenge blog to see the other creations and I hope you find time to play along with us this week.

Have a fabulous day!!

Final Bellariffic of the Year

Happy Friday - can you believe in a week it will be Christmas Eve?! and in two weeks we'll all be thinking about ringing in the new year - where did the time go?!  This is our last Bellariffic Friday of 2010, and we finished off with one of my favourite things - a sketch!!

I picked up Alice by Christy Croll when I was at Stamping Bella in November and thought she was perfect for the sketch.  The image  is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest cream paper.  I coloured her hair and tea cup with caran d'ashe pencils, her skin and base dress with copics.  I paper pieced the tea cup and her dress, which I used the ds paper Restoration from crate paper.  I added some pitch black atyou spica to her hair band, and a clear glaze pen on her shoes.  The border punch is from Martha Stewart.

Make sure you stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes and the sistah's creations and I hope you will all be ready to play along with Bellariffic Fridays in the new year!!

Have a great day

Snowball Fight

All my holidays cards are in the mail - now I'm just trying to get then all posted; how sad is that!!

Today I'm showing another of the Penguin cards I made with Penguin Fun from OCL.   The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with caran d'ashe pencils.  For the snow I used glamour dust glitter, and for the snowball I used liquid applique and glitter & a little heat.  The ds paper (how fitting is that?!) is from 3 bugs in rug.

Thanks for stopping by - have a great day

With Sympathy

Hubby came home and told me we needed a sympathy card for a friend whose father passed away - how I hate making sympathy cards but we really don't have a choice do we?!

I always use one of the solid images I have from Stamping Bella because they are subtle on the cards.  I pulled out solid flowery leaves and some marker to colour the image then stamp it onto bella's bestest paper.  I added just a subtle amount of glitter to the base of the flowers.  The ds paper basic greys curio and the sentiment is from Stamping Bella.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are playing along with our last Bellariffic Friday of the year - a fabulous sketch.  If you haven't had a chance you still have time - email you card to Em by Thursday!!

Have a great day

Ski Bunny

Some of hubby's contacts that we send holiday cards to are in the Ski business, so I thought Ski Bunny Trevor from CC designs would be perfect!

I used MOJO sketch 166 as my layout and stamped the image with mementos ink and coloured it with copics.  On the skis I used a clear glaze pen and on the pom pom's on his toque I added green flocking.  For the snow I used sugar sparkly fluff.  The ds paper is basic grey's Oliver.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Sending you Some Christmas Wishes

Happy Sunday!!  Today I'm back with another Corrosive Challenge card which is a sketch this fabulous sketch this week.

I finally inked up MFT's PI girls Sending you Some Christmas Wishes.  I stamped the image with mementos ink and coloured her with copics.  On her hat and boots I used some liquid applique and added some glitter and heat.  For the snow on the ground I used some sugar sparkly fluff and for the snow falling I used a quickie glue pen and glitter.  For her buttons on her coat and the tree I used some tiny twinkles.  The ds paper is We R memory Merry & Bright.

Stop by the Corrosive Challenge blog to see all the other creations and I hope you can play along with us this week

Candy Cane Wishes

Happy Saturday!!  Today I get to stay home and avoid all the crazy busy malls, I think hubby will be heading out, crowds don't bother him BUT I can go during the week so why oh why would I go with him today?!

Today's card is another Christmas card - this one is made using Karen G's Sweet Sunday Sketch from last week (SSSC95).  I finally inked up one of my many a la modes from MFT - Candy Cane Wishes.  The image is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics, I did do a little shading with my Caran D'ashe pencils.  I used a clear glaze pen on the candy cane.  I used cuttlebugs snowflake embossing folder and added some ribbon and a ghost snowflake.

Thanks so much for stopping by - I'll be back tomorrow with my Corrosive Challenge card; I'm having a lot of fun being their guest designer this month!!

Giftabella...

Happy Friday!!!  Today's challenge over at Bloggabella was to make a gift card holder of a gift - I went with the holder BUT it's not Christmas themed (shocking I know!!)

I immediately knew I wanted to make a gift card holder for Starbucks gift cards because I LOVE giving them & getting them.  I register all my gift cards & Calgary is the only place in Canada where you can earn reward points - I worked very hard to get my personal gold card & now I must work at keeping it; it's a tough job!!

I stamped Chloe the Coffee Mug girl onto bella's bestest paper and coloured her with copics.  On her hair band I used a pitch black atyou spica pen and on the coffee cups polka dots I added some black glitter.  I then cute the image out and mounted it onto My Minds Eye Fine & Dandy tickled pink paper.  I mounted it all onto an Altoids tin and along the edge of the tin I used co-ordinating ribbon from My Minds Eye.  I added some card stock & some more of the designer paper to the inside of the tin.

Make sure you stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the Gift ideas and in case you missed it Em snuck in a surprise release on Wednesday; three new BELLA'S!!  They are fantastic!!

Next weeks challenge is our last one for 2010 (can you believe the year is almost over?!)  We have a fabulous sketch that Paulineabella created for you - email you cards to Em by Thursday to be included next week!!

Reindeer wishes

I'm back today with another holiday card.  I can tell you my Bellariffic card may be a gift card holder or gift BUT it's not a Christmas image (at least I think it's not made yet!!)

I flipped through my bella bindahs and came across reindeer circle and inked it up.  The image is stamped onto bella's bestest paper with mementos ink.  The face is coloured with pencils (I LOVE my new caran d'ashe pencils - thanks Paula & Linda!!) the rest of the image is coloured with copics.  On the star I used a purple atyou spica pen, and a red lipstick pen on the holly.  I used a Sweet Stop sketch (SSS84) and the ds paper is fancy pants arctic chill from my stash.  I added some glitter for snow above his head.

This weeks bellariffic fridays challenge is to make a gift or gift card holder - email Em your entries by Thursday to be included!!

Have a fantastic day

Penguins & Mojo

Shocking I know - another Christmas card; really I hope to show at least 1 card that's not Christmas between now & the 25th BUT I'm not making any promises!!

I had this sweet penguin from OCL partially coloured and when I saw the mojo sketch from today (MOJO 168) I finished off this set - you know I can never just make 1 holiday card.

I loved this set when I saw it on my trip to Boston - it's called Penguin fun and I've made cards with each image!!  The penguin is stamped with mementos ink and the penguin is coloured with my new Caran d'Ashe pencils (love them!!)  For the scarf, ear muffs and nose I used copics.  On the ear muffs I added some red flocking.  Instead of a bow I added a snowflake and some rhinestones.  The ds paper is Cosmo Crickets Mitten Weather and I embossed the real red cs with cuttlebugs snowflakes.

Thanks so much for stopping by - have a great day

Red & White

Happy Sunday!!  I hope you are all having a great weekend.  Hubby is in Phoenix so I have been busy getting cards in the mail & realizing I still have to make some!  I did get out with some girlfriends to a craft show and bought myself some fantastic candles - hmmm maybe I should have been buying Christmas presents?!

My wonderful friend Janet asked me if I would like to be a guest on the Corrosive Challenge Blog for this month, and I was thrilled!  She knows I would do anything for her she's that sweet!  This weeks challenge was Red & White - hmm I like lots of colours so this was a challenge for me!  I found one of my Kraftin Kimmie stamps that's been neglected & thought it would be fantastic in Red & White.

Antoinette is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics.  On her skates I used a white glaze pen.  For the fur trim I used liquid applique and glitter then heated it up.  On her scarf I used a clear glaze pen and for the buttons I used silver viva decor.  The ds paper is from SU - riding hood red.  I used riding hood red and white card stock which I embossed with swiss dots.  For the ice I used crystal stickles.   The layout is a Sweet Stop Sketch from a few weeks ago (SSS83).

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you have a chance to play along with the Corrosive Challenge this week

Snowy Bellariffic

Happy Friday - this weeks Bellariffic Friday's theme is to add some snow onto your card (not literally, although we still have snow here)

For my card I inked up one of my favourite bella holiday images - Polar Bear Circle.  The image is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics.  For the snow I used white liquid applique and glitter.  I let the liquid applique set a little then used my heat gun to make it fluffy.

Next weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is  be a GIFTABELLA - make a gift or a gift card with your bella images.  Email Em your project by Thursday to be included - you could win Bella bucks!!
Make sure you stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the snowy creations

December Calender

Now you didn't think I would go through an entire calender without using STELLA at least once did you?!? This month is full of presents for me because it's my birthday month & Christmas so with that in mind I reached for Stella Needs a Prezzie.

Stella is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics. I added some clear glaze to her shoes and her lips, a girl needs lipgloss! On the presents I added some glitter with a green pink atyou spica pen. For her crown and wand I used a yellow (gold I like to think) atyou spica pen. The ds paper the calender is mounted on is from SEI Christmas Mist

Just a reminder this weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is SNOW - you still have time to email Em your card (has to be to her by Thursday)

Thanks for stopping by - I can't believe I need to start thinking about making my 2011 calender already!!

It's a White Out

Happy Friday - I hope all of you in the States had a wonderful Thanksgiving and survived the shopping!!  Some stores here are having Black Friday sales, but I don't think I will be hitting them, although my mother in law is in town so we will be shopping.

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme was an all white card (aside from the image) This challenge was really a challenge for me!  I love my colours, pattern paper & layers - I even tried to suggest allowing coloured base layers but the babes shut me down (I did notice they said you all could have more leeway then me!)

I inked up one of my Christmas images that hasn't been introduced to mementos ink - Snowman with a birdie on top and stamped on bella's bestest white paper.  In some ways it was fun not to have to think about the colours I chose for his hat & scarf - I went with purples and grey (you know grey in the new black). I made the birdie red for a cardinal since they seem to be a holiday bird.  For the snow I used liquid applique and glamour dust glitter.

I layered the image on white cs cut with nesties and layered that on white cs that I embossed with cuttlebug's snowflake embossing folder.  I stitched around this layer & added the white ribbon and layered it on my final piece of white cs, on the bottom of this piece I used my ek success snowflake border punch.   I must confess I made 10 in total, but the rest had a few black layers on them!

Next weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is SNOW - somehow, somewhere on your card you need snow.  Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included next Friday and you could win some bella bucks

Em is running a BLACK FRIDAY SALE!!   for EVERY order OVER $50 you will receive 5 free stamps (we choose) included in your order!!  The retail value can be up to $50!  all for FREEEE!
The sale last until Monday night!!  Head on over to Stamping Bella to take advantage of this sale AND there won't be any line ups!

Thanks so much for stopping by - have a fantastic day

Birthday Wishes

Today is my oldest brothers birthday and I remembered to make him a card!!  It even managed to get in the mail, but the timing may be a little off!

I started with Taylor's sketch from Friday (TESC134) and used TE's Whimsical Wishes Make a Wish stamp set.  I stamped the cake plate & cake onto neenah ultra smooth paper and coloured them with copics.  I used a clear glaze pen on the plate to give it the look of glass.  On the cake I used some crystal stickles on the top icing, an atyou spica pen fro the swirls.  On the bottom layer of the cake I used the clear atyou spica pen on the circles and for the icing along the bottom I used adirondacks dimensional pearls is espresso.  I paper pieced both the cake plate and cake onto the cream oval, the cake I popped up with dimensionals.

The ds paper is from my stash of BG 6x6 pads called arcahic - this is a favourite of mine for masculine cards.  I added some chocolate ribbon and  some bella dots (they weren't the exact brown I wanted to I coloured them with copics & presto a perfect shade!!) - I did forget to round the corners, but aside from that I was true to the sketch!

Thanks for stopping by- have a fantastic day

Birfday Cake

Today I don't have a Christmas card to share (which is going to be a rare thing the next few weeks!!)

I used Mercy's sketch from a few weeks back (MTSC99) and stamped Izzie has a birfday cake onto bella's bestest paper.  The image is coloured with copics, but again I am trying to learn how to shade with pencils (it's a learning curve!!)  The ds paper is from the paper loft called well worn.  The ribbon is from an awesome store Kar & I stopped at on our way back from NY to her house - The Great American Stamp Store; they had SO MUCH RIBBON it was overload on the senses!!  On the polka dots I added some black micro fine glitter, and on the icing I used some glamour dust glitter.

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge is a white only card - just some colour on your image!  I must tell you this is definitely a challenge for me, I love my colourful layers!!  Email your cards to Em by Thurs to be included & you can win some bella bucks.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

Brown paper packages tied up with strings....

these are a few of my favourite things!!  Actually if it's a package I'm partial to the beautiful teal blue Tiffany boxes :)

I LOVED this weeks MFT challenge (MFTWSC11172010) because it's to the Sound of Musics Favourite things song.  Every Christmas we would watch the Sound of Music (to the complaining of my brothers!!) so I was ready to play along!

I used Mercy's sketch from this week (MTSC100) and inked up one of my many neglected PI girls - Presents for you from MFT.  The image is stamped with mementos ink coloured with copics, on her coat I used some tiny rhinestones for the buttons.  The ds paper is from Pink Paislee called tinsel town.  I used cuttlebugs snowflakes embossing folder on the cardstock.  I added a ribbon and a dienamics snowflake with a rhinestone in the middle

I managed to make 6 of these sweet girls so I am slowly getting my holiday cards done!

A Christmas Sketch

Happy Friday!  Today's Bellariffic Friday challenge was a sketch by our own Cathabella.

For my card I decided to work on some more Christmas cards; I still need A LOT so I made 7 - why 7 because I used up all my little pieces of bella's bestest paper and that's how many I had.  Christmas Peeps is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics.  I added some shading with my prismacolour pencils (still trying to get comfy with that!!).  ON the tree decorations I used a clear glaze pen and on the star I added some glamour dust glitter.  The ds paper is from my stash of holiday paper by my minds eye.

Be sure & pop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the of the babes creations & what the sistahood did with the sketch.  Next weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge is an all white card - yep just colour up you image and layer it on white.  I have tried to suggest allowing 1 colour, but the other babes vetoed that!!  Email your cards to Em by Thursday to be included & you could win some bella bucks!!

Thanks for stopping by

Blast From the Past Blog Hop

Today I'm playing along with Taylored Expressions Blast from the past blog hop.  The theme was fall, but I must say it's a winter wonderland outside my house!

For my card I inked up a tree from TE's Whimsical Wishes Branching Out stamp set.  The tree is stamped with mementos ink and I added some shading on the tree with copic markers.  On and round the tree I used prisma pencils for the colour of fall trees on and around the tree.  The ds paper is from basic greys Curio which I stitched onto brown card stock.  The sentiment is from TE's Whimsical Wishes Fresh Flowers set.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANCY!!

Today is the wonderfully talented Nancy McKinney's birthday and in celebration of that we have a birthday blog hop for her!  If you came from Carolina's blog you are on the right path, if not please hop over to the start at Karen's blog.

For my card I used Karen G's Sweet Sunday Sketch from this week (SSSC93) as my inspiration.  Izzie has a Prezzie from Stamping Bella is stamped on bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics.  For the shading I did use some prismacolour pencils.  I paper pieced her jacket and hairband with the ds paper cosmo crickets circa 1934.  I stitched around the layered pieces and added some prima flowers and a button.

Thanks for stopping by, the next stop on the birthday hop is the very talented Charmaine Ikach!!  I've posted the list in case you missed anyone!

Have a great day -

Swirly Christmas

Happy Friday!!  Today's Bellariffic Fridays theme was to make a Christmas/Holiday card - I'm happy to say I made 17 of them; I know odd number but I didn't like the colour on the first on so it was eliminated.....

I picked Swirly hills with trees up last weekend at Stamping Bella; every time I see someone use it I wonder why don't I have this image?!  It's perfect for Holiday cards instead of specific Christmas cards (I need some of each to send out)  The image is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics and primsacolour pencils (see that Linda & Paula?!)  I added lots of glamour dust glitter for the snow effect on my card. I embossed the cs with cuttlebugs snowflakes and the ds paper is from 3 bugs in a rug; I love the non traditional holiday papers!

Don't forget to stop by the other Babes blogs to see their holiday creations & Bloggabella to see the sistah's cards!

Next weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is a sketch (don't we all love sketches?!) designed by our own Cathabella!!  Email your creations to Em by Thursday to be included and you could win some bella bucks!

So after making my 17 cards yesterday I checked to see how many I had done (I totally failed at 1 a week this year) 45 complete - and I think I only need 100......

Have a great day - I think I will be working on more Christmas cards!!

Remembrance...

Lest we Forget
Nov 11 is Remembrance Day in Canada in honour of our military vets and current soldiers.   I have always worn a poppy, as has my hubby but I was saddened today when I was out & realized that the majority of people don't wear them so I came home inspired to make a card in honour of all our soldiers.

Em introduced Green Bean Baby by Ellia military men & women for both Canada and the States soldiers and I think that's pretty amazing!  I chose GI Jane (what can I say I wanted to colour her hair)   Canadian GI Jane is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics.  For the ribbons in her hair I used an atyou spica pen to give her some girlie touches and for the buttons I used silver viva decor (a little something I picked up when I was at Stamping Bella on Saturday) The ds paper is from basic greys archaic line; one of my favs

I'll be back on Friday with my Bellariffic Friday's card - holiday or Christmas; you have until Thursday afternoon to email Em your card to be included.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you take a moment to remember our Veterans & those men in women currently serving in the military.

Exhausted.....

Yes I am exhausted from my 11 days away from home!!  It all started on the 27th when I took the red eye (yes I'm insane & I won't be doing that again!) to my BFF's.  The concept of the red eye seems good until I don't sleep (maybe an hour) and I refuse to nap when I get there so by early evening I am pretty entertaining to Kar & her hubby!!

The next morning we got up early to go on our road trip, since Karen moved to the Boston area we always try to go somewhere when I visit - this year Hoboken to see Carlos Bakery!!

Karen suggested we go & see Jodi (Stamping a Latte) since we were so close.  We headed across the bridge, checked into the hotel, had a snack then went to Jodi's - Ann Kranitz was there too & we laughed and talked so much that night my throat hurt the next morning .  I met Jodi's hubby, girls & Edward :)  I can't wait until the next time we all get together!!  Seriously a few time I had no idea what Jodi was saying because of her accent - she said I totally sound Canadian eh!!

All good things must come to an end so I left my BFF's and stopped in Toronto on my way home.  It was a quick stop to see my old neighbours & their kids, but when I mentioned to Lindabella I was making a quick stop in TO she co-ordinated a little babarooni rendezvous!! YES can you believe it?!  Paula left her house early Sat morning & picked up Cath, and Linda picked up Pauline so I could meet them all and we could hang out.  Ebru was able to pop into Bellaland & Em was a wonderful host.  My wonderful friend Leslie came with me & her & I were in awe of the babes - she even got to take an Izzie coloured by Linda home!!  The girls were all very productive & coloured, I sat & yacked & watched & begged Linda & Paula to share some of their knowledge with me!  They offered to have me colour but I was not colouring around such greatness!!   Again all good things must come to an end; the babes packed up & headed home & I headed for the airport for my flight home.

I had hoped to try my pencils today (Paula was very encouraging) and do some shading like Linda showed me, but I did so much shopping when I was away (great success with my BFF & at one of my favourite shops in TO) that I spent the day re-organzing my closet.  Hubby told me to get some new clothes while I was away, but I don't think he thought I would take him so literally!!

I'm going to stamp tomorrow - we'll have to see if there are pencils on the next project or not!  Don't forget this weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is Holidays or Christmas - email Em your cards by Thursday
