The Final Christmas Cards….

Even with my mass production card this year I was short a few holiday cards, here are the final two  I made.

The first is with  a sweet stamp set I bought this summer from Darcie's called Season to Jingle

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white cards stock and coloured with pencils blended with mineral spirits.  The dp is MME's Mistletoe Magic.  For the sentiment banner I used MFT's Jumbo Fishtail Banner Stax.

For the second card I again inked up MFT's Pure Innocence Trim the Branches Snowman.

The image was stamped with memento tuxedo black ink and stamped it onto bella's bestest white card stock.  I coloured this image with copics.  Again the dp is MME's Mistletoe Magic and I paper pieced his scarf and hat.  For the snow on the ground I used Decor Arts Glistening snow Writer.

I want to wish everyone the very best this holiday season and I hope you are able to spend time with family and friends

Merry Christmas!!

Sweet Sunday Sketch celebrates 200 sketches!

Can you believe that Karen has come up with 200 fabulous Sweet Sunday Sketches for us to play along with?!  Here's Sketch 200 for you to play along with

I flipped the sketch because I wanted to use Stamping Bella's Merry Christmas and Happy New Year stamp before it's retired.  It's on sale right now at Stamping Bella.

I inked the image with worn lipstick and shabby shudder distress markers and stamped it onto bella's bestest white card stock.  The dp is an old one from my Christmas stash - Crate Paper's Snow Day.

I stamped the sentiment using with versa mark ink on the inside of my card and added banners in the dp using MFT fishtail stax die-namics.

In celebration of SSSC200 Karen will be giving away a couple of MFT gift certificates to people who play along so remember to link you card on Karen's Blog

A Free Form Bellariffic

This is our last Bellariffic Friday Challenge for 2013 - where did the year go?!  I'm excited about the challenges we have next year and Em has something up her sleeve; I've tried to crack her and get the goods but so far I haven't but I'll keep trying!!

When I was going through my Christmas Cards I was SHOCKED to see I didn't have any with one of my favourite Uptown Girls - Quinn in her Boots!

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white card stock  and coloured with copics.  On the buttons I used a silver atyou spica pen.  For the trim on her hat I used white liquid appliqué and glitter and let it dry.  I didn't have any dp to match my purple shade so I took a piece of grey card stock,  embossed it with snowflakes and then distressed it using dusty concord distress ink.  I embossed a piece of bestest white card stock with swiss dots and fussy cut the image and mounted it.  The sentiment is an old stamping bella sentiment - I love the size of the font.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes creations and leave a comment for a chance to win a Stamping Bella gift voucher.

Our next challenge isn't until Jan 10 but we wanted to give you a chance to get inky over the holidays so here's the Inspiration Challenge 1.

Email your card to Em by Jan 9 to be included on Bloggabella and you could win a Stamping Bella gift voucher!

The Last Sketch...

I can't believe we are at our last sketch for 2013 on Bellariffic Fridays - where did the year go?!  I really liked this sketch it was perfect for an Uptown Girl

I hadn't inked Uptown Girl Charlie waits by the Chimney so it was high time I did!  The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white card stock and coloured with copics, for the shading I used pencils with mineral spirits.  I used a clear atyou spica pen to add some subtle glitter to her skirt and trim on the dress and hat.  For the shading around the image I used antique linen distress ink.  Instead of a sentiment panel I used a ghost snowflake with a rhinestone in the middle.  The dp is an old one - Echo Park Everyone Loves Christmas.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes and sistah's creations with the sketch.  Next week is our final Bellariffic Friday challenge for 2013!!!  We decided to make it an easy one - ANYTHING GOES - email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella and you could win some bella bucks

A Sweet Sunday on a COLD Sunday

Actually we are finally starting to warm up - no more -40C nights (which is about -40F) nights for us! Yes this is very good news.   This is a photo of the steam rising off the river as we drove by on Saturday - yes it's warmer then the air outside!!

Karen had a fabulous sketch for us this week (SSSC199), and since it's been awhile since I flipped I sketch I thought this weeks would be perfect flipped

For my card I inked up one of Stamping Bella's images that's retiring - it's on sale now at Stamping Bella but once it's gone its gone.

Santa's birdhouse is stamped with memento's tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white card stock and coloured with copics.  I used a gelly roll pen along the lines of the smoke from the chimney. On the lights I used a red atyou spica pen then a clear glaze pen.  For the tree ornaments I added sparkle with Xmas red stickles.  For the trim on the santa hats I used white liquid appliqué and for the sparkle on the bottom I used Decor arts glistening snow writer.  I stitched around the layers and coloured some clear rhinestones red.  I was going to use brads, but that adds volume on shipping and since I still need to ship some holiday cards I kept it a little flatter.   The DP is basic greys Aspen Frost

Winter Wonderland

Todays Bellariffic Fridays challenge was to create a winter wonderland card - not hard to do when we have WINTER here in Calgary- FREEZING winter.  Lots of snow on Monday and now cold temps - today it's suppose to be a balmy -26C (-15F)as our high & with the winds close to -40C (-40F)!!

For my winter wonderland card I inked up an image that is perfect for the snow and cold; although it might be too cold for the kids to play (I did see 2 bundled up outside yesterday - crazy!)  How to Make A Snowman.

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white card stock and coloured with both copics and pencils and mineral spirits.  I added a few flecks of glitter on one side of frosty.  The dp is Bo Bunny Elf Magic Collection.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes and sisah's creations.  Speaking of Babes we have a new one in the house!!!  Leslie (Leslie's Good Impressions) has joined our team.  She's been a great supporter of all things Bella for YEARS and we're so excited that she agreed to join our team!  Sadly when one door opens another closes and Cathabella has stepped down - we will miss her and her gorgeous creations

Next week is our FINAL SKETCH for 2013!!  Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella and you could win some bella bucks

An Optimistic Bellariffic Fridays

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge was a sketch - I tweaked it just a little (putting the oval panel under the other) so I could work with the image I chose.

Uptown Girl Opal the Optimist is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white card stock and coloured with copics.  I fussy cut around the image and mounted it onto a piece of river rock card stock.  The dp is Pink Paislee's City Sidewalks.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes and sistah's creations.  Next weeks challenge is Winter Wonderland (walking in a….)  Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella and you could win some Bella bucks!!

SSSC 198

Karen has another fabulous Sweet Sunday Sketch for us this week

Maybe it's the time of year or the snow outside my stamp room window (although we do have a Chinook so it's melting!) but I decided to may another Christmas card.

I've had Inspired by Christmas  from MFT for a LONG time and this is the first time I inked up one of the images!  I stamped the image onto bella's bestest white card stock and coloured his suit and hat with pencils blended with mineral spirits. I added a bit of shading on his beard with copics.   The DP is MME's Mistletoe Magic - I may have overbought it when I was planning my mass production holiday cards and I love non traditional patterns.  I used MFT's fishtail flags stax die-namics for the flag behind the image.

I continued the colour them on the inside of the card and added some fishtail flags stax die-namics in the dp.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set from MFT

Inspiration Challenge 5...

Today's Bellariffic Fridays challenge was our last Inspiration challenge for this year - I must say I have really enjoyed these challenges.

I saw the wreath and knew I wanted to do a winter card and used the colours to make it non traditional.

I inked up Uptown Girl Winona loves Winter with memento tuxedo black ink and stamped it onto bella's bestest white card stock. I coloured her with a mixture copics and pencils with mineral spirits.  I then fussy cut the image out and mounted it onto a piece of white card stock embossed with swiss dots. The sentiment is a retired Bella image - one of my favourite sentiments because of the font and size.  I added some rhinestones on the sentiment panel to give her some bling and a snow flake cut with MFT snowflake die-namics.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the Babes and sistah's creations.  Next weeks challenge is a sketch - email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!

100 Complete!!

I needed to make the holiday cards we send out for hubby's work and to family and friends.  You know once you send out a "made" card you can't go back to buying them and somehow the number I need to make keeps increasing!

For my card this year I thought I had a simple card - Ya right!!  There are 4 layers (one embossed) a sentiment panel that's embossed and then 5 layers to the tree.  Oh and the little washi tape snowflake and rhinestone - yep I'm crazy!!

When I designed the card I was sure I had bought a 2 layer Christmas Tree Silhouette while in Kelowna earlier in the summer, Amanda from Ever After Scrapbooking & Papercrafts was sure it was Dee's Distinctively Christmas Stack tree I'd bought from her - she was right!

The DP is MME's Mistletoe Magic, when I make mass production cards I use the 12x12 paper.  The sentiment panel is a sentiment from My Favourite Things Merry & Bright which I think is retired.  I stamped it with versamark ink then heat embossed with white embossing powder; yep all 100 of them!  For the white panel behind the tree I used swiss dots embossing folder.

Now to find the list and start the addressing process!!
