Sing Sing a Song...

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week I stepped outside my box again (these new stamps from Em are making me try new things!) while playing along with sketch 13.

I took a piece of water colour paper and inked it with distress inks in antique linen and broken china.  I then stamped Grandma's Gramophone by Rhea with mementos tuxedo black ink onto the cardstock.  I masked out the dancing girl & dog.  The two layers under the image are embossed music notes from Darcie.  The bottom layer is Co'ordinations paper so I then sanded it.  I then added a black panel and ribbon and a button.

I decorated the inside because I wanted to show the sentiment.  Kate from my LSS suggested I buy a music sheet background stamp, I originally said no, but it was on sale so I bought it - well wasn't she smart!!  I stamped the music sheet onto bella's bestest cream paper with antique linen distress ink then stamped the sentiment with mementos tuxedo black ink.

Next weeks theme is Embossing -  folder, powder, however you want just add some sort of embossing to you card and email it to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella

Please pop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes and sistah's creations with the sketch

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Getting Inky

So my new rubbah arrived and with the new release I had some "older" rubbah that I hadn't ordered.  With all the new rubbah in the house I was like a kid in a candy store trying to pick one to play with today!

I went with Em's Lantern flowers (from the previous release) The base for the image is Ranger Manila tag coloured with spiced marmalade, crushed concord and tumbled glass distress ink.  I then sprinkled water on the tag, dried it then sprayed with pearl glimmer mist (yes I've been ready Tim's A Compendium of Curiosities vol II.)  Once dried I stamped the image with verafine ink then added clear embossing powder.  I cut the tag down to work with my card base which is purple cs embossed with swiss dots layered with yellow ribbon.

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge is a sketch - you still have time to play along with us this week.  Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella & you could win some bella bucks

Take time for Detours

Happy Friday!  This weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge was to "INK UP THE GIRLS"
For my card today I inked up one of my Uptown Girls that hasn't been inked up yet.  I found the perfect paper to work with the image.

Uptown Girl Molly makes a Detour is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cream cs and coloured with a combination of copic markers and pencils with gamsol.  I paper pieced her dress (not surprising right?!).  For the shading around the image I used antique linen distress ink.  The ds paper is Bazzil Basics paper 6x6 pad called Wayfarer.  On her sunglasses I used a gold atyou spica pen, and on the lenses I used a clear glaze pen.

I decorated the inside of the card with dp (how perfect is that - already embellished!) The sentiment comes with the stamp.

Don't forget to pop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes creations and what the sistahs sent in.  Next week is sketch week - email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella and you could win some bella bucks

Reach for the Stars

It's another Sweet Sunday and this is a LONG post so I hope you have a full cup of coffee!  Karen has a great sketch for us this week; and there is a Design team call!!

First here is this weeks sketch (SSSC161)  This is the sketch for the design team call (details  are at the end of the post)

In order to use Mabel Reaching for the Stars from Stamping Bella I flipped the sketch.

The image is stamped with versafine black ink onto water colour paper, on the stars I added some gold embossing powder.  That's the great thing about the versafine is that you have time to emboss if you want.  The image is coloured with distress makers.  On the stars I added some shine with viva inka gold.  On her bow I added some shimmer with star dust stickles.  The shading around the image is done with tumbled glass distress ink.  The ds paper is MME's Away we Go.  Instead of flowers I used TCP's cloud border and cut one that I wanted then added a MFT stacking stars die namics.  The banners are done with MFT's die-namic first place award ribbon.

I decorated the inside of my card and added some clouds with the TCP cloud border which were cut on cream cs then shaded with the tumbled glass distress ink.  I then added some MFT stacking stars die-namics.  The sentiment comes with the stamp from Stamping Bella.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday stampers blogs AND our guest designer for this week to see their creations.

Ok here are the details for the Sweet Sunday Design team call - if you are entering the call please make sure you add your card on Karen's blog correctly!

Minty Sketch

Today's Bellariffic Fridays challenge was to pick you favourite sketch so far this year.  I went through the sketches and chose to re-visit Sketch 6

This time around I decided to make a holiday card - now I wish I'd made more because it came together fairly easily!

I stamped minty coffee with versamark ink onto watercolour paper then embossed the image in gold.  I then coloured the image with distress markers (barn door, peeled paint and tumbled glass) The shading around the image is antique linen distress ink.  The ds paper EP's Season's Greetings.  On the centre panel I embossed the cs with snowflakes then added some ribbon.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes and sistah's creations and if you leave on comment on Bloggabella you have a chance to win some bella bucks

Next weeks challenge is to "Ink Up the Girls"  Pick your favourite girl image and send your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella

Let the Sunshine in....

So I have been playing around again with my distress markers and inks - I swear the girls at the LSS are laughing at me because I wasn't into "tim" because it was messy.

Today I used distress makers to colour up Sunshiny Flynn from Stamping Bella.

I stamped the image with versafine black ink onto watercolour paper then embossed in black.  I then coloured the image with distress markers.  For the shading on the ground I again used a distress marker (pumice stone).  The shading around Flynn is done with faded jeans distress ink. I shaded around the sentiment; which I free cut which is hard for me to live with! On the balloon I used glossy accents for some shine.  On the flower on her dress I added some glitter with a clear atyou spica pen.   The ds paper is MME's A Happy Heart.

You still have time to play along with this weeks Bellariffic Friday - any sketch we've used this year.  Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included and you could win some bella bucks

for the guys....

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme was to make a masculine card.  For my card I reached for Stamping Bella's Hanging Sports Block.

The image is stamped with versafine black ink and coloured with distress markers.  I then inked around the image with distress ink.  I must apologize I have no idea what colours I used.  I was so organized that I made my card ahead of time BUT then I forgot to write down all the stuff I used AND then when I checked I hadn't taken a photo or written the post - so much for being organized!!  The background is co'ordinations cardstock embossed with a Tim Holtz folder then sanded.  I then added a piece of kraft ribbon and die-namics stars border die in the same cs.

Next weeks theme is a sketch challenge - pick your favourite sketch so far for this year!!

Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella and you could win some bella bucks

Let Me Introduce.....

another new image from Stamping Bella's Uptown Girls Vienna and her Vespa

I am so excited about this release - Em has 2 new artists and a bunch of new images that she has been teasing up with on her blog - if you haven't had a peek make sure you pop over to Bloggabella

Naturally my image is on bella's bestest cardstock and coloured with copics.  I paper pieced her skirt with the dp paper from EP's Sweet Day.  The shading on the ground is done with pencils and gamsol, the shading at the top is done with tumbled glass distress ink.  On the vespa I used a clear glaze pen to give it some shine because I saw a vespa on the weekend (same shade of blue but no orange) and it had some shine to it so the light bulb went on for me!

You still have time to play along with this weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge - masculine card.  Email your card to Em by Thursday & you could win some Bella bucks; which will come in handy with the release later this week!!

Your'e So Sweet

Happy Sunday and time for another Sweet Sunday sketch from Karen (SSSC160)

This week I actually stuck to the sketch  and inked up one of Stamping Bella's Uptown Girls

Uptown Girl Claudia has a Candy is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cream cs and coloured with copics.  I paper pieced her dress with the dp paper (MME's Nostalgia). On the bottom of her dress I used some poppy orange glitter.  The shading around the image is done with distress ink.  The lollipop was inspired by a card I've seen (sorry can't remember whose blog it was on).  For the flowers I sprayed some cream prima flowers with sunflower and pearl glitter then added some crystals for the centres.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers and this weeks guest designer blogs to see their creations and remember to link your card on Karen's blog for a chance to be the next Guest Stamper
