Cutting it Close....

Where did May go?  I am just getting my card for Jen's SKFYTT done in time!!

For my card I used one of Stamping Bella's Uptown Girls from her last release (she keeps hinting there is another one coming soon!) Uptown Girl Ava loves to Celebrate

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cream cs and
coloured with copics.  Her dress is paper pieced with the ds paper MME's Miss Carolines.  O the cake I added some glitter for the sparkles.  Her hairband is also paper pieced.  The shading around the image is Distress ink in Antique Linen

Tennis Anyone?

I think it's fitting that during the French Open I have a tennis image to share with you!  I wanted to play along with MFT Design team Challenge for June because it's a sketch & I love sketches

I inked up MFT's al la mode I've Met My Match with memento tuxedo black ink and coloured the image with copics.  On the tennis racquet I used a clear glaze pen to give it the shine since most are graphite now.  The shading around the image is done with distress ink.  The ds paper is MME's Dilly Dally

I made this as a birthday card for a friend who is a tennis fanatic so for the sentiment is from MFT's a la modes Birthday Girl set which I stamped onto grey cs cut with MFT's file tab die-namic.  For the "ribbon" under the image I used MFT's Scallop Ribbon Border.  The flower is MFT's Pretty Posies die-namic.  On the centre piece I used some crystal stickles for some shine.

Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Flowers

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme was a colour challenge - Yellow, Blue, and Black - this was a bit of a challenge!  I found a perfect image for yellow it's from Paul'a Framed Florals - daffodils!

The image is stamped with versamark and then embossed with black embossing powder.  I then coloured the image with distress markers (mustard seed, scattered straw & peeled paint) the distressing around the image is done with broken china distress ink.  The ds paper is cosmo cricket Baby Jane.  I went with a turquoise blue - close enough right?!

Next weeks challenge is a sketch challenge - email your cards to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella

Dandelion Whisps

It's a Sweet Sunday and Karen has another fabulous sketch for us (SSSC159)

So while I was at my LSS this week they received Faber Castell's Gelatos - so naturally I had to buy the entire set (really I had a coupon how could I say no?!)  Naturally I had to "play" with them right away!

For my card I coloured Stamping Bella's Dandelion Wisps with 3 of the Gelatos then misted the stamp with water and stamped the image onto water colour paper.  The two gelatos used on the dandelion are metallics (Gold Champagne & metallic melon)  so they have a wonderful shimmer to them.  I then inked around the image with Distress inks in old paper and peacock feather from the spring edition.

As you can see I flipped the sketch to work with my image & trimmed the image down to work with the sketch.  The base yellow layer is embossed to match the ds paper from Lily Bee designs Happily Lost and then inked with distress ink in scattered straw.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers Blogs and our wonderful Guest designer to see their creations.  If you play along with us this week remember to link your card on Karen's blog.

Thanks for stopping by & for all the Canadian bloggers out there enjoy your long weekend!!

Sunflower

Happy Friday todays Bellariffic Fridays challenge was another sketch by the very talented Ebruabella.  As you know she has had to step down from the team BUT she will be contributing the sketches for the rest of the year!

For my card I wanted to play some more with my new Tim Holtz distress markers so I decided to try colouring a sweet Bittyblooms - Sunflower Bittyblooms.

The image is stamped with versfine ink onto watercolour paper.  The image is coloured with scattered straw, wild honey, mustard seed, tattered rose, spun sugar, dusty concord.  The shading on the ground is done with pumice stone and vintage photo distress ink.  The blue shading is done with broken china distress ink.  The ds paper is MME's a Beautiful Life.  I added some kraft ribbon and the flower is die namics flower trio with a rhinestone.

Nest weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge is a colour challenge - YELLOW, BLUE AND BLACK. Any shade of these colours will work.  Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella for a chance to win some bella bucks

Birds Decorating

Happy Monday I hope everyone had a great weekend we had some lovely spring weather here so naturally I decided to make a Christmas card!!

I used Jen's Deconstructed Sketch 51 for my inspiration.  I inked Stamping Bella's Birds Decorating Trees with versafine ink and stamped the image onto watercolour paper.  I coloured the image with distress markers (tumbled glass, broken china, barn door, vintage photo, peeled paint & forest moss.  For the ground I coloured with a pumice stone distress marker then went over the colour with walnut stain distress ink.  The shading around the tress is done with weathered wood.  On the decorations I used a gelly roll pen for the string and added sparkle using stickles in Xmas red.   The ds paper is MME's Signature Christmas.  I added an MFT die-namics scallop border and some kraft ribbon.

You still have time to play along with Bellariffic Fridays this week, which is this sketch.

Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella's Bellariffic Fridays blog roll.

Trying something new...

Happy Friday - I hope you all had a great week.  I'm slowly getting over my cold but I must admit it's slowed me down a ton!    I'm now the proud owner of the new distress markers (I think that's what helped with my recovery!) so I decided to try to colour with them for my Bellariffic Friday card today.

I chose a beautiful image from Paula's (Paulabella)Summer Day's.  The image is stamp with versafine black ink onto watercolour paper and coloured with the distress markers and a watercolour brush.  The distress inks I used were peeled paint, pine needles, spiced marmalade and barn door.  I then used stormy sky distress ink and sponged the background.  The wonderful think is you can sponge right over the coloured image & the inks don't pick up the colour - BRILLIANT!!   I added some glitter and rhinestones to the flowers.

The ds paper is Teresa Collins Fabrications - Canvas layered on orange and black cs and I added some sewing to my bottom layer.  The scallops are done with mft's scallop die-namic then I added some black ribbon to finish it off.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the creations AND to welcome our newest Babe Katarina Menzies!! Next weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme is a sketch - email your card to Em by Thursday to be included and you can win some Bellabucks!!

Mavis

Happy Sunday we're back this week with another Sweet Sunday Sketch from Karen (SSSC158).

I actually stuck with the sketch; maybe it's the wicked head cold, no voice thing it just seemed to involve less thinking to just follow along!

I inked up Stamping Bella's Mavis has a daisy with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest white cs and coloured with copics.  I added some shading on Mavis with pencils and gamsol.  Her dress, bloomers and flowers are paper pieced with the dp Authentique's Delightful.  The shading around the image is done with Distress ink in tattered rose (my new addiction!)  The flower is MFTs flower trio & leaves die-namic.

Please stop by the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers and guest designers blogs and if you play along with us remember to link your card on Karen's blog for a chance to be our next guest designer.

Under the Mistletoe....

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays theme was another sketch from Ebruabella - I love that she made all these amazing sketches for us this year!!

I decided to make a Holiday card to make a wee dint in the ones I will be making in a panic in October!  For my card I inked up Eve Under the Mistletoe.  I do love all the Uptown Girls!

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black ink onto bella's bestest cream cs.  I then stamped the image a second time onto the bestest cs for the belt.  The dress is stamped on the dp MME's Holly Jolly and paper pieced.  The belt is coloured with copics, then a silver atyou spica pen for the buckle,  I then coloured the belt with a clear glaze pen to make it shine.  It is then paper pieced on the dress then the dress is paper pieced on the image.  For the trim I used white liquid applique and glitter.  I let it dry partially then heated it.  Instead of photo corners I used some of bella's ruby red bonbons.  For the shading around the image I used distress inks in Shabby Shutters and Iced Spruce.

Next weeks theme is sewing - faux or real on your card.  Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella & you can win some bella bucks
